    I have not seen any information, pre-sale offers, sneek peaks from Toyota yet. It's close to June 2024 so I am wondering if Toyota will build this truck for the US market next year or next or if at all. I got a chance to drive a Ford Maverick (the stripped down work version) as a delivery vehicle for my work and I can say I am impressed by that little truck. Seems perfect for someone who does not need a big hossin' truck but one just for occasional loads and commutes. I live in Tennessee and see people drive trucks everywhere. But to me it is not smart driving a big Ford F-150 or Toyota Tundra just to go to work at the office, pointless really given the fuel economy of those things plus they are not cheap to purchase! The Mavrick peaked my interest when I drove one, handling was great, drives like a car. I drove a hybrid model which got 42 miles per gallon, more than double my small SUV. Toyota needs to get the ball rolling as Ford beat them to the punch. Also most manufacturers beat them to the punch in the EV market. I want to buy a Toyota or Suburu since the quality of both those brands seems excellent.

    My only problem with the Stout is it’s a uni-body. In my opinion all trucks should sit on a frame, especially when it comes to towing.

  • @russbowman6801
    @russbowman6801 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Forget it. A real frame and a v-6 naturally aspirated would be tough and longer lasting, like my older Sequoyah, working fine at over 200,000 miles.

    I agree we see alot of those mavericks here in British Columbia ,Canada dont think the rest are going to start making them anytime soon it takes 3 to 5 years to bring a new model to production if ford made the maverick with just a extended cab version with anothet foot or so box us old guys would buy those little guys like hot cakes ,get rid of our gas guzzling 4 door oversized bemoths to run to the local market with shrinking parking stalls everywhere

I decided to go with a Nissan frontier pro-4x which I never thought I would say but with 8K down and my trade in ($1500) I am paying under $500 a month and couldn't be happier with it.

    Anticipate the wait, yeah right. Let me guess it’s just another overseas model. What good does this advertisement if we’re not getting them in the American market. To me what gave it away was that they’re offering a manual gearbox as an entry level model, if that’s not false hope then I don’t know what is.

    The innovative Ford Pinto (which they knew was a death trap - I unknowlingly bought one), the innovative dual-clutch class-action-lawsuit transmission (which I also stupidly bought and cost me $$$ when the resale value of this POS fell through the floor), my wife’s new (when we bought it) Escape with the leaking windshield and leaking axle (which we bought, thinking Ford magically became and OK company)…. Ford will never get another dime of my money.

      Had to Ford escorts, both constant repairs and breakdowns, One lost power out of the blue with a baby in car seat on a dangerous busy bridge known for vehicles blowing off in high winds . On the other hand I had a little Ford Ranger for years that was the best vehicle I ever owned . Why can't any of them offer a truck model that is just one front seat, roll down windows, stick shift, no smart tech. One of the worst vehicles ever owned was a Toyota RAV. The earlier model RAV I owned was good.

    Unibody construction?? No Thanks!!. Longest bed is only 5.5 feet?? Again disappointing..it will be just anither micro SUV with an uncovered trunk. Come on Toyota..all we need and want is what you did with the 70s era HiLux. This is really just a Maverick knock off....your missing the point. Make it Box-on-frame. Give it at least a 6 foot bed as an option...Ah well. We will never see it in the USA anyway..or if we do all trims will be North of $40k anyway so whats the point?? Toyota has pretty much missed the mark. Disappointing.

    Another anti-American advert for Toyota, Ford gave us the Maverick as they are forward-thinking innovators whereas Toyota and others follow, how apt now they all are jumping on the small truck bandwagon but their lackeys are already claiming class-leading in every department. I laughed at the towing part because the last time I could remember none of the Toyota trucks were class-leading in towing but hey. The Maverick will be due for a refresh and no one knows what Ford is bringing so keep on hyping the nonsense about a truck that is not on the road. The Maverick is.

I did not say all Fords are made in America just like VWs Audis and Mercs that are made in the US you STILL call them German cars, don't you? Mate exit stage left. Jeez, there are so many here who should be in school.

      Toyota and other Japanese companies invented the small truck market in the late 70's. They were so well made for so much cheaper that import taxes were placed on them so American trucks could compete. It's called the "Chicken Tax". Google it. America hasn't lead the world in the production of anything except intellectual property since the end of WW2. We helped rebuild Japan and Germany and set them up for manufacturing, and then they ended up being way better at it. I haven't owned an American truck since 1999 and I couldn't be happier. The money you spend on Japanese trucks go towards quality, the money you spend on especially anything GM is spent on the ridiculous demands that the auto workers union gets through. Thus the only way for American cars ans trucks to compete is to tax the competition. American manufacturing is garbage.

      My last 2 vehicles and the only new I've ever bought are a 1989 Toyota 4runner and a 2002 E350 van. I kept each one 20+ years. While the ford van has not been bad, it has started to have some issues even though I babied it to get 11 mpg. The Toyota on the other hand was nearly bullet proof. I drove it hard every day and it was fun. it's only failure was a burnt clutch when somebody stole it. I wish I'd have never sold that 4runner.
      My next vehicle is almost for sure to be a Tacoma or a Stout.
