  • Today we are hunting for rare and valuable commemorative coins, we are hunting through a big bag of £250, direct from the Bank!
    We are hunting for new coins from the UK to add to our collection of 50p coins.
    We are hoping to find all of the Beatrix Potter coins (including Jemima Puddleduck, Peter Rabbit and Flopsy Bunny), all of the Paddington Bear coins, the very rare Olympic coins, including the football 50p (offside rule) and Triathlon and Judo, perhaps one day we might even find a 'lines over the face' Aquatics! We are, of course, also looking for the rarest 50p of them all, the 2009 Kew Gardens 50p Coin.
    We also collect coins from the British territories; Jersey, Guernsey, Gibraltar, Falkland Islands, Isle of Man or even St Helena!
    Come with me while we search for the rarest and most valuable circulating UK Coins!

    Something you said in this video gave me an idea..... All of you cointubers should release one of your earliest videos to show a) How much you've all improved over time... And b) The difference in values. We like a bit of nostalgia.

      these youtubers values are way off. Not saying i know more about coins then these guys because i really dont, but being members of facebook groups where buying and selling happens often and they all use coin apps with up to date prices etc, as well as selling many coins myself on ebay regularly. it surprise me how far out some of thier prices are. When lafta did the Kew fund more then 70% of the coins that totalled up the fund were face value. lol

    Not a bad hunt today. I have noticed, apart from the very rare coins, most 50p's are worth between 50p -£2.00. I agree, bundle them together if selling on Ebay. On a different note, do you think the £2.00 coin rotation errors may be a deliberate thing from the Royal Mint? I think it is, as it makes it exciting for coin collectors to find, and getting people to start their own collections. I also think they sneakily mix a few NIFC's into the wild just to create more interest. Or am I becoming a conspiracy theorist in my old age 😅😅.

    QUESTION:
    are £2 or 50p coin hunts more profitable?

    The 2021 figures were released in early December 2022, probably later than usual due to the Queen's passing. Bit strange that the CWG Glasgow is classed as common, and not above face value, while the Battle of Hastings (which has a slightly higher mintage) is 🤷🏻‍♂. Good hunt with an Olympic and some nice keepers 👍

    Hello. I’ve got additional question to what you said about 2020 Shield. How do you think is there any chance that those 2020 Shield in long store may be melted down instead released into circulation if there will be no need for that amount of coins?

    To answer the question to the thumbnail id say no, Hastings have 6.7 million minted. I just cant imagine them ever being worth more than 50p. Sure the odd one can sell over on ebay but ive sold dictionarys for over face value, fact is after ebay fees, ad fees, postage costs etc its pointless, But if you keep a 6.7 million minted coin then there wouldnt be many commemorative 50ps you wouldnt keep, the team gb same year has less minted. I get that its hard to put nice coins back, i was getting that way where i was just keeping too much, but i had to tell myself it just isnt worth it.

      I'd say unless its 5 million or less its not really worth keeping. Things do get harder to find over time though and over time it becomes especially hard to find clean examples. A 1998 NHS or EU stars coin is worth money now as long as its decent condition because you just don't find too many of them now.

    • @SuperChalkster
      @SuperChalkster ปีที่แล้ว

      @@gravemind6536 agree with that but those 2 coins are 5 million minted like you said and over 25 years old. i keep those, but even now on coin groups etc only have a value of £1.50 each. ebay will sell for more but after fees it really does work out the same. But if the Hastings were worth that amount id be rich, lol, no i wouldnt actually because i wouldnt be able to sell them all.

    • @gravemind6536
      @gravemind6536 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SuperChalkster I always keep a surplus of coins for trading for other ones but other than that I tend not to keep ones with more than 5 million mintage they just aren't worth bothering with unless in exceptional condition.
