@@ertisamulalamahon6800 possibly I set my sights too high and never fulfilled them. I was obsessed with the limited Edward the 8th coins, the king that abdicated. I should have moved onto something like these coin hunts which have a pretty good chance of a dopamine hit.

The design on the Isle of Man coin is not a sand castle it's the Tower of Refuge, 2017 was the 1st year of that design.

You probably found this out while researching the coun, but the Isle of Man coin depicts the tower of refuge. Nice to hear you enjoy our coins though

I posted on Caledonian Coins Discord that IOM £2 coin. My first thought was "why the heck is a sandcastle on a coin"? Lol. Pretty cool to find but I think some of our Mainland ones are better. 👍

13:02 The socalled permanent markers are not very permanent at all on things like metal and glass, so there won't be any damage done. Try writing on one and keep it in your own pocket for a week or so and see how long it lasts if at all.
Am really tempted to buy the album but I know I’ll then be sucked in to buy the NIFCs so probably won’t bother
I think you'll find the picture is the tower of refuge just off the beach, Douglas IOM when the tides low you can walk out to it.
Was in the IOM looking for special coins I fetched back four of the IOM coins just like this for my son who is an avid collector like you.

Little interesting piece of info for as you've found a Isle of man £2coin. If you go onto Google earth and look at the Isle of man (with North up) go down to the South-West bit of the coast (roughly) there's a small island there, zoom in and cut into the ground is the Isle of man emblem (the three legs) its quite big!

Also instead of signing with a sharpy leaving a small personalised somewhere on the coin way be a better idea. Then the sharpy can't be washed off plus only people that watch you will know about it haha

In reference to which way the design sits, hold the queens head upright then spin the coin 180 degrees. You will have your design upright too.

I was going to get the 50p one but they want the 50ps that haven't gone into circulation so unless you buy them and take them out of there packing and devalue them you won't be able to fill it.

The IOM £2 coin should say 'Wish you were here' around the edge.
Maybe the coin is just in good condition, although it has some cameo. Looks proof strike to me.
Loved to collect coins but gave up wish I hadn’t as I believed I’d had some rare coins but I’ve lost them now unfortunately

I love the Isle of Man coinage, that £2 peice is lush. They always sale for more than face as well, so a great find. You are right about the copper coinage: a self service machine gave me 4 Isle of man pennies today, all 2003 and with full mint luster. Straight into the collection! I have the complete set of 3 Shakespeare £2 coins (including the comedy one). I pulled all 3 out of circulation in 2017. Something is telling me that the comedy one is incredibly rare: the sheer volume of coins you hunt and you haven't found one. Yet. Oh yeah, at 10 minutes 38 seconds into your video, I believe that you flipped past a dud £2 peice and missed it. Yep, sadly the fakes are circulating widely nowadays. The once state of the art £2 coin is vulnerable to the counterfeiters. Keep up the good work and l love your hunt videos.

Love, love, love IOM coins....have just recently bought a 1985 proof set which I will look at in a future video. Saying that the back log of videos I have too edit and new coins I have to film will mean the date of the IOM coin set will probably be around 2051 and will be in 16k halogram vision

I don’t even collect £2 coins but I have one that’s got an author on it kinda forgot his name😂 and around the side it says “something will turn up” and the I have another that says “standing on the shoulders of giants”not sure if that’s special though I’m pretty sure it’s something to do with Isaac Newton or something
The standing on there shoulders of giants £2 is the Oasis one and goes for £9 - £12
