    As a tip: definitely use frozen tofu sheets. Dry ones are usually broken into several pieces. Even if they are whole, after rehydration they rip apart very easily.

    Nice dish. Are those wrappers the same for egg rolls? Made a stir fry yesterday for the family. It was pork pineapple with green peppers in hoisin sauce. They will have leftovers today. Let me know when you nuke the rice in the microwave for 2 minutes when you make some. I'm curious of your response to it. We have so much in common, we work so well making various Chinese dishes together.

    • @HAPPYWOK
      @HAPPYWOK  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Andy, Nice to drop by again. Those fresh soy bean ( aka bean curd ) skin are made of, as you know already, from soy bean. While egg rolls wrappers are from wheat flour or rice flour. I am glad your pork pineapple cooking was successful and they love it. Thanks for watching.

    Very nice looking dish. I wish I could buy bean curd skin fresh like that here. In the next city I can get it dried in a bag. Will this also work?

    • @HAPPYWOK
      @HAPPYWOK  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Dried bean curd is not recommended. But you can try. Soak it with water over night, then handle gently cut into large square shape. But freshly frozen bean curd are available in Asian groceries. Check them out first. Thanks for watching.

    I typically don't like steaming because I don't have the best cooking setup particularly since I do not have the tool which you used to lift the plate up with. I've looked in my local Chinatown and I have frequented the local T&T supermarket but the tool isn't to be found. One workaround is to wear dishwashing rubber gloves in situations where I have to set the steam item in and lift the steam item out. Rubber gloves are usually priced around $2-$3 and it's easier to store gloves too.

      Steaming is also got some healthy cooking. Since they drain some fatty stuff away. Thanks for watching.

    I'm confused. First I deep fry it and then steam it? Or am I deep frying some and steaming some? Also, where in an Asian grocery store do I find the bean curd wrappers? Freezer section? Refrigerated section? Or on a shelf?

    • @HAPPYWOK
      @HAPPYWOK  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, fry first then steam them. For fresh bean curd wrapper, yes at the refrigerated section. They should be soft to touch, not frozen. Thanks for asking . Thanks for watching.
