As a Japanese who lives in UK for a long time, I had forgatten a tasty Tofu recipe variations such as this. The first one I tried was really delicious. Thank you for the reminder. I added a little bit of corn starch into the sauce, so it's easy to serve and smooth finish.
I've been experimenting with blended tofu, adding it to different soups and dishes to increase the protein content. It makes a great mayo replacement in a chickpea salad, and since it absorbs flavors so well it can be added to so many soups as a thickener and no one notices. It's so versatile.
The silken tofu ranch dip was delicious! It was a big hit at my Super Bowl party. I served it with blanched cauliflower florets. I can’t wait to make it again!
I've never tried to cook with silken tofu, to be honest. I've had it in a few soups and liked it, so I'm not sure why I never think about it. Thank you so much for the inspiration! The meat prices here in the US, I imagine everywhere, are getting very high. I know we share a love of beans, so I've been making more meatless recipes and they're less expensive by FAR. Thanks for sharing with us ❤️
I like the variety of dinners you make. Haven't tried tofu b 4. May have to right this down and try later. So this is how you stay thin. Glad you had a peaceful week.
I"ve been making marinated tofu with various sauces for the past two weeks now but never cooked with silken tofu, so thank you for these :) they look amazing.
Great recipe's. Here (in Taipei) its most often used in Miso soup and Douhua (tofu pudding). There is a yellow variety made with eggs that is robust enough to chop up and fry. Thnx and HNY!
Yes!! This is great. I lived in China, your first recipe is just something anyone will throw up as a great appetizer at the center of the table. Same with the second one, except I'd use Chilli Bean Sauce/Douban Juang, instead of Gochujang, it's earthier and more savoury. The third recipe I had never seen, and it's great. I used Kashmiri Chilli Powder instead of paprika. Thanks!!
@@HowToMakeDinner And even though I know it is you and we live in the same town, it is somehow delightful to see store pricing on a TH-cam video and know exactly which local grocery chain you are shopping in! LOL
exciting. i love silken tofu but have never cooked with it... can't wait to try the first one! I've made several of your recipes and they've all been winners 🏆😋
Thank you Paula for these silken tofu recipes, such good timing for me. Silken is not available at my grocery store so recently I bought a case online (the carton shelf-stable kind) and am now wondering how to use it all, especially for savory dishes. Can't wait to try your recipes, all three of them. They look delish and easy
Thank you! I’ve been meaning to work more with tofu, I adore silken tofu and have a lot of it stock in my cupboard (the box kind you love lol) so now I have some awesome ideas
Thanks for the great recipes! I'm "tofu curious" 😂 (I like it but never cook it). Dishes sound tasty and easy! Updated my shopping list for next time I'm grocery shopping.
I made a vegan sandwich cake when my son was born (a savoury dish made with bread and filling that you make into a cake with savoury "frosting" and you eat it just like you would eat a cake). My mother-in-law was so impressed with it that she wouldn't let go until I told her what the creamy stuff was: she was horrified to find out that the creamy stuff was silken tofu - the stuff she had declared hating more than anything else. My point is that you can use all kinds of tofu in so many typical Western dishes, both sweet and savoury!
A litte mention no Idea if others have said this too. Dont fry your stuff in tosted sesame seed oil, it simply not made for it you can warm it up and mildly sizzle stuff in it like peppercorn or spices, but I recommend use it as Topping or last ingrient that wont need cooking anymore. Frying the Veggies and garlic /Ginger in drop of neutral Cooking Oil is better and wont destroy to taste and benefit of the Sesame Oil. But the Soup with Tofu is a great idea
Brilliant - thank you - your explanation & video was so easy to follow - straight to the point with ingredients & how to cook each recipe - wish everyone else on TH-cam would do the Sam as you then don’t have to spend time listening to waffle - thanks again & will try all of these recipes over the next couple of weeks👍👍🙏🙏

I’ve never used it as a thickener for soup. Sounds fun!
Brilliant. Gonna make all 3 of these!
Happy new year! I hope you’re in the mood for some silky luxurious tofu 😊
I'd love to see some of the desserts you mentioned! 🙂

@@cindyveaudry6996 Amazon. I bought Mori-Nu Silken Tofu. It's a game changer. Makes great smoothies, with very little to no soy taste.
Thank you! I’ve been meaning to work more with tofu, I adore silken tofu and have a lot of it stock in my cupboard (the box kind you love lol) so now I have some awesome ideas

OMGOSH I didn't know that about MISO PASTE! ~ TY FOR ALL OF THIS!
I'm always scared of silken tofu lol I always thought it would be too difficult to use. I need to try these though 😋
Quite the opposite! Just don’t be too fussed about cutting it into perfect cubes 😄

The measurements look like tablespoons on the last recipe? It looks good, I want to try it
Love it! 😊
Wow.....tq3
How do you prepare your garlic/Ginger Mixture? Greetz from Germany

tofu or not tofu, that is the question.
Haha tofu! All the way!
Sil -ancho- oo ??? Is cilantro…. Sí - lan- tro
Cook 1 minit
Talk 7 minit
That’s because it’s has very little protein
