    To see that car running toe to toe with modern prepped cars with probabaly way more aero and carbon brakes validates everything I love about the 935.

    Nice to see the car being properly exercised. We used to look after it in the UK for P.G the owner. It never really got used as intended and was only out on track a couple of times! This car has some really good late Kremer chassis tweaks with fairly trick springs/dampers & we suspected it would be quick driven properly. Shame the rose joint slipped out of the gear selector. Have you ran the car with a bit more boost yet? It has the better later fuel pump and should be safe to 1.5bar on 104-108 with 4-5% O2. Regards Ian CCR.

      What livery was on that car? Great info!

    • @ccr9568
      @ccr9568 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@ACMEpowersports sorry for the delay I've only just revisited this footage for a coffee and nostalgia moment! It was still in its full and menacing Interscope livery. From memory I think the car was mainly raced by Danny Ongais in period. We only had a limited lime with it, around 2 years but I believe it was pretty much the last "non tube frame" car Kremer built. We were also lucky enough to have it at the same time as the Travel cruiser car which was originally a Porsche factory 935 #21 then subsequently converted by Kremer which was an early K3 and there were many differences between the two cars. This car had different and more adjustable suspension pick up points, A kind of Hybrid Bosch/Kuglefischer mechanical injection system that was happy AFR wise running higher boost over longer time periods without leaning off etc. It also had more aggressive aero fences and a slightly higher rear window and wing line, all small changes but really obvious with the 2 car together. It was and hopefully still is a very serious car, especially with a half turn or 2 or 3 on the "gas valve" by the gear lever. I think rightly given that it hadn't had much shake down before this race the boost was set very conservatively looking at the incar footage (maybe the lowest setting 1.1 bar). With most of the pace coming from a very talented driver in the braking/corners, When I originally watched this I was willing Leh to wind the valve clockwise as each half a turn would have added around 45hp (0.1bar) and "shortened" the straights considerably then the gear lever pivot bolt fell out and I felt a bit defective!.. Good times sorely missed ...I hope it's still being properly exercised as these cars perform best when used regularly?

      Chevorlet Monza. A silhouette car build by DeKon between 1975-80 with painting/decals of the 1978 24 hours of Le Mans (don't know if it is the actual car). More here: www.scharch.org/Cars/Monza_Racecars/Monza-DeKon_Chassis.htm

    Looked a little down on boots or power aswell, maybe a running in session almost a Monza or a NASCAR type is quick but seemed even Carrera Cup cars were not being blown away

    What a final laps!!! Why do you slow down when he was yours?

      The real question is why was this dip sh yt pushing so hard against a car that was clearly faster than his in a race that means nothing? Leah was marginally faster in some of the mid corner areas and that likely only a combination of skill, gearing and chassis setup.

    That driver in front in the end should have been blue flagged in the corner and honestly I would have black flagged his ass in the last corner you were beside him. That was bullshit driving and immature as hell for him to come toward the inside line when you clearly were the faster driver and on line. I noticed the corner workers were don't paying attention to the track. Great driving sir. Would love to do some laps with you in my 911

    How Come the monza is so fast in the straights ?

    • @shaadydog1
      @shaadydog1 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well their was another Porche running in front of it wasnt there, question is maybe why was this one so slow? Maye a gearing/aero combination. Not sure what rules any of them are ever governed under. The Monza might not be built to the same SVRA or Historic GT specs the Porche was. He might be running a Cup Car engine or Sprnt Car Engine on alcohol. You just never know what cubes or heads or fuel for that matter is being used in a mish mash event that allows so many different cars on the track at the same time. I would assume these 935 arent running the same old tech compressor/turbine wheels from the 70's either, they might only make the same "boost" but the wheels are more efficient and probably billet so they spin up faster and flow more everywhere... Been trying to find rules that would govern that but cant seem too.
