I have always wondered what is the difference between those players that are amazing at 18 but never seem to get noticeably better, like Pato, Walcott maybe even Owen, and those players like Ronaldo, Messi, Suarez, De Bruyne which great as they were at 18 were able to push on to another level. Prem teams that get relegated and are receiving parachute payments have a massive advantage, any team that doesn’t do it first time is just poorly managed/ran. Leeds, Southampton and Leicester have squads with way more depth and quality of players that are premier league players
