Chelsea 04/05 team is one of the most overlooked an undervalued teams in the prem everyone says about united treble team liverpool recent side under klopp an invincibles all of them deserve praise but that Chelsea team was unbelivable they literally conceded 15 goals all season lost 1 game to city which was a penalty that never should have been and a 95 points total back in 04 seriously seriously impressive

I am die hard United fan, but for me top 3 premier league teams are Invincibles, Centurions and the Chelsea wall 04/05 in any order. Our teams had a character to win the league with scoring goals, not exactly defending. All the United trophies has been fought hard for. Maybe that's why I love my team. Although the 2007-08 United team was feared in the world. And the Chelsea-Utd were 2 best team in world around 2006-08 period.
Also, premier league from that era dominated Champions league with 3/4 semifinal teams being EPL team. EPL standard in champions league has been bad in last 10 years.

Unbiased Villa fan, but Its Man City. In the last 4 years what they've done is incredible:
Treble, 100 points, domestic treble, 3 PL in a row, 23 wins in a row all comps (2nd most wins in a row in European history) whilst changing the way football is played in this country. They are clearly the best, only United treble winners and The United team that won 3 in a row with Cristiano Rooney Tevez come close imo.
Saying Invincibles is better is incorrect imo. Yes they won the league unbeaten, but they never went back to back league wins, and in that invincible season they never got to a semi final of any other cup competition.

The thing with Dan Ashworth is that I’m not actually sure what he’s achieved at Newcastle other than some minor improvements to the youth system
Much of what the likes of Sky Sports and so on are hyping him up and giving him credit for is actually unfounded if you actually know anything about Newcastle and the stuff that came before Ashworth.
    For example, he’s been credited with identifying and signing Guimaraes, Botman, Gordon and Isak…except;
Guimaraes was signed in January 2022, 6 months before Ashworth joined
Newcastle bid for Botman twice in that January 2022 window, so he was clearly identified before Ashworth
Isak was linked to Newcastle along with Arsenal again in that January 2022 window and were said to have scouts watching him
With Gordon if you watch the Amazon Prime series, you actually see it’s Amanda Staveley negotiating that deal and Gordon was pretty much a player that Eddie was pushing for
You can go further and even say Newcastle were looking at Harvey Barnes over multiple transfer windows, as Leicester fans will know
So really the only players you can potentially credit to Ashworth (as a guess really) are Livramento, Hall and Tonali… who have all had limited playing time this season

I was specifically talking about how much of the media and punditry have been crediting him with accomplishments and recruitment that he had little to no involvement in, some pretty lazy journalism connecting dots from their poor knowledge of events, Sky are the worst offenders because they could go back and check their archived stories they covered, which shows many of their claims are nonsense.
I mean for the first transfer window under the new ownership Eddie Howe was pretty much having to head up recruitment alongside his management duties.
I think if you speak to some Brighton fans many of them have said Dan Ashworth's involvement in recruitment even there was somewhat overstated and that it was largely the work of Paul Winstanley and Sam Jewell (both of which have been poached by Chelsea)

Arsenal so called invincibles played 58 games in all competitions and lost 6 games. Man United of 1999 played 62 games (4 more) and only lost 4. And bear in mind they played Bayern 3 times, and Juventus, Inter, Barcelona twice on top of that. I know this is about Premier League but other competitions are very relevant as you're not just fighting on one front, so squad rotation etc plays a huge part.

@@n4ht4n80 Wayne Rooney the same guy who failed at every single managerial job he had? Ole was outplaying City at times, your completely fit Treble side needed 2 De Gea mistakes to beat a United side that had Lindelof at the back and full of injuries.

@@Nightsu de gea 2 mistakes?😭what was he supposed to do about the first rocket. Just accept you had a chance to stop your city rivals doing a treble and bottled it in 13 seconds. We didn’t even get out of second gear and the goal you scored was a dodgy pen, Casemiro should’ve had a red and we didn’t even break stride, absolutely 0 struggle from us. Ole “outplayed” a totally different city team aswell which came second to us by 12 points so if you think that means anything then the conversations done

Stop waffling. This era of football is strong, tactically and athletically, and they’ve absolutely dominated it.

maybe a slight bias as I support liverpool and like to think the reason we only won 1 is because city have been that good 😂

If pep went into a season purposely trying to go invincible he’d do it. Playing for draws and parking the bus at anfield and such he’d do it. There’s been far too many teams better than the invincible team. Liverpool have had a few that didn’t even win the league that were better teams than the invincibles

Do you the know the question I’m stuggling with Fergie did 3 premier league titles in a row twice and peps city team also won the treble got over 100 points done 3 in a row and might do 4 in a row what is better 4 in a row or 3 in a row twice I’m generally asking people I’m a United fan and obviously love Man Utd but peps city team has dominated and that’s exactly what you would want as a club forget about the ffp stuff and just from a footballing point of view they are incredible the only thing is Fergie did it a lot longer it’s all about how long pep stays

Man City have NOT “changed the way football is played” in the way everyone thinks. They haven’t invented positions and people need to stop with that nonsense. Football goes in cycles. They’ve brought things back. In THAT sense they’ve changed football, but only the way that every team that rises to dominate does.
People should also stop judging eras versus eras. Football is always evolving and players are always getting better. They’re fitter, faster, they’ve got better stamina, ball control, all that stuff. Even taking recency bias out of it, the current is always better than the previous.
I was watching another channel and there were three people, two former players and one presenter, discussing the best PL keepers, and they all said that Schmeichel is falling down the list because he wouldn’t have been able to play the type of football that Alisson and Ederson play now. Now, however true that would be if you just transported him through time and stuck him in goal for Liverpool but the same could be said for Alisson and Ederson - take them back in time to 1991 and they would be shocking! They’d be crying for fouls every thirty seconds. Schmeichel didn’t have to play as a sweeper keeper like they all do now, but that’s not his fault. If anyone thinks Alisson is better than him, that’s fair enough, but citing that a player from a different era could play the style of the current era is just a nonsense. What you’re saying, if you’ve ever said something like that, is that, idk, Joleon Lescott is ten times (100x!!) the player of Bobby Moore. He’s faster, fitter, has better ball control, everything about him physically is better (apart from maybe height(?)) and Moore would have no chance of lasting ten minutes in Lescott’s era. So, is Lescott better than Bobby Moore?? Of course not! Moore won the World Cup ffs and no England player since ever has. Such a comparison is dumb as f***.
Anyway, eras can never play against each other, so you pick your favourites depending on who you support and whose actions meant more to you. They can never play against each other so you have to compare achievements only. The 99 United team, the current City team as they’ve matched it (treble and three in a row) and if City do the same again that will put them ahead of everyone of the PL era. Arsenal’s Invincibles will always be with them unless someone else goes unbeaten again, but that’s the only extraordinary achievement they had. I would say any Champion to win with more points, especially more than 100 points is at least level with them.
    Anyway…
