You will be haha. Noooooo way Charlie will not marry you. You are a very rare breed. And i am just amazed to see content from you. So awesome. Keep up the great work
You are inspiring me to clean more. I already do, more than most, but for some reason never thought to scrub out the wheel wells when rotating tires. One thing to note, if you have directional tires, they can only move front or back on the same side. If they switch sides the tread pattern is now pointing the opposite way.
I'll be honest. My very first brand new car, I took care of it like a new born baby. After about 3 months, I was like meh whatever. So props to you for being diligent in your car maintains.
I just bought a 2010 subaru legacy 2.5 gt about 2 or 3 months ago. I clean it religiously, but your cleaning attention to detail is way above mine! Love the forester xt! You do great videos
Great car. I have a 2005 Forester XT that is ripe for some upgrades, and though yours is considerably newer, a lot of the same principles apply. Thanks for sharing what you're doing and for the ideas.
You are so much better than me at keeping your car and garage clean! I drove my driftcar for 6 moths without a real wash, just a hosedown after going off track.
Did you see Jason's latest Engineering Explained video about Low Speed Pre Ignition? It mostly effects small displacement turbocharged direct injection engines. I think this is what led to me putting a hole in the engine block of my 2016 FXT at around 45,000 miles. Subaru gave ne a brand new 20th Anniversary NA Forester as a loaner. I had it over 12 weeks and put a few thousand miles on it. They first replaced the engine block, then after test driving it, they replaced the heads. This was all covered under warranty. Subaru of America paid the dealer almost $13,000. When I got it back I immediately sold the car to Carmax. I now drive a 2019 RAM 1500 Limited with 5.7 Etourque. It actually runs 0-60 quicker than the FXT did from the factory.
I use Meguiar's non-acid wheel cleaner with a soft brush, then for the inside of the wheel, WD-40, that gets rid of road tar, you'll be amazed...trust me. Glad I am not the only one who cleans their wheel arches, looks 1 million bucks when clean. Well done.
My dear I would suggest using v36 with an orange cutting pad and then coming up to v 38 with a white polishing PAD as our subie paint is sort of soft, v36 is less aggressive and will take out many scratches and swirls, then I would use white light and jet seal or 845.
Yes, sorry you did, I wasn't able to see the rest of the video, had to go back to work we have been so busy at the winery as we are getting a lot of wine from our sister winery in Napa due to the fires at work, have you had a chance to use 845 at all?
Sarah, I've never been a fan of Chemical Guys, but if it works for you, that's all that matters. If you find yourself detailing a lot, I would recommend looking into the Kevin Brown Method (KB Method, KBM). It is a little of a read, but you can definitely optimize the effectiveness of the DA polisher.
Yeah we'd like to see more videos of your Forester my aunt and uncle have the same color and everything I believe the same year you have, in fact we just bled his brake system ( he's got a lift) so I go over there and use it when I need to change my oil on my leggy..
Your Forester is the star of your channel! Thanks for another quality edit Sarah :-) Sometime you should check out the Rupes DA polishers. I finally bought one for my Forester and it made the job go quickly and my ears aren't ringing.
Another awesome video! Have wanted to start doing my own youtube channel working on my car but I lack the time it takes to edit all the material so I really appreciate you putting your self out here.
Just subbed today and watched a few vids, quite enjoying your stuff. I'm gearing up to do my first big wash/polish/wax on my new wrx. Another week or two of obtaining what I want/need for it and I'll be spending my weekend doing that! Keep up the good work and looking forward to seeing more.
I love your videos. I would have tried using a clay bar on the rim before using compound. Also, v34 is a bit aggressive. I would have used v36 with a cutting pad and v38 with a polishing pad to jewel it. Something to think about next time. The results look great.
Sarah, do you still have the stock front seats in your FXT? If so, you should buy a set of front seats from a 2015+ WRX. They are a direct swap and totally change the driving experience. I picked up a set last night and couldn't stop smiling while taking the twisty country roads on the way home. The brand new Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires definitely contributed to the experience. If you are on the Forester XT Facebook page, check out the photo I posted today. There are a lot of useful comments which were made.
Top! Great Job, furthermore have fun with screw. Have bumped by chance into your video, even a Forester goes - weiterhin viel Spaß beim schrauben. Bin durch Zufall auf dein Video gestoßen, fahre selber ein Forester
just an FYI, the V34 and Black light is not a wax. V34 is a compund and Black light is a dark color enhancer. You still needed a wax like butter wet wax or the jet seal. Blacklight without protection is gone in a few days. As well you can get a decent wheel cleaner whether it be chemical guys diablo wheel cleaner or even Gyeons Iron remover. Gyeon is a like the IronX someone mentioned before and they will make wheel cleaning almost touch-less. Of course they are more expensive, but if you get a decent wheel cleaner and wheeler brushes you dont have to compound them all the time. Just trying to make your life a bit easier for the future. :)
Great job but get some iron-x for your wheels, then seal or coat them. Ditch that clay bar for a nanoskin mitt and change your life forever. With white you might be able to get away with HD Speed or McKee’s 37 360 for a one step and save even more time.
Where do I get a shop rolling chair? Man I really need to start building my garage again. Realized I didn't have as much stuff as I should have except a 10/12/14mm wrench, bottle of 303 and other misc items. haha.
Wow. And I thought I was the only one crazy enough for pulling my wheels and cleaning the insides and the suspension. You're awesome. But I'm not going to paint my sway bar hot pink, I gotta draw the line there! LOL My brake calipers came from the factory as bright aluminum and with washing thru the wheels every week after 9,000 miles they're still bright and shiny so I wont be painting them.
I always do the same thing. I clean the inside of the rim and the fender guards. Did you add tire shine to the liners? It looks cool, but man does it become a magnet for dust. That drives me cray cray! So I just use a plastic cleaner that has a natural finish with no residue. Even tho on my Jetta the rear liners are fibrous and they never look clean even when they clean 😖. #OCDstruggles Edit 9:50 NewBurgerKing road map sticker 👌🏽 I 👀 you.
Guten Morgen from Germany. With how you´re saying it, one could easily think that you´re either from over here or have been living here for quite some time. I deal with USPS on a weekly basis and know a lot of the funny things that can happen. My suggestion is to get a FedEx account for your business because the rates for FedEx minus your discount outweight the fear you are having with every package you send with USPS by far. like very far 😄 It seemed like you didn´t loosen the wheel nuts before you lifted your car. Why not? But a big thumbs up for the Nürburgring sticker 👍
There a perfect bae, to come home and have your car fully detailed and inside the rims too. Wash, polish with the porter cable, then wax it also, then wipe it. My girl be like your car is just sitting in the garage and know nothing about my jdmdc2 lol. Time to find someone like Sarah. Would appreciate tools, sprayguns and the car life.
@@Fireholder1 you are correct, I was referring to the tire tred. I am not sure if the Yokohama Advan Sport a/s tires are directional or not, but you don't cross directionsl tires when you rotate them.
Sarah I love your videos, just to see you working on cars is just amazing to me.. I do have a question. What cleaner you used under your Forester ,on the plastic and rubbers ??
Love your videos! OCD but your very smart, efficient and particular in what you do with passion. Well, Not as clean like you are but still love it, Like Me!
Hi Sarah, love your videos!I have an SJ Forester as well. I'm looking to do the mini d2s retrofit and just wanted to ask, since yours looks good what projector shrouds did you use? Thanks!
Arguments for 2.5 manual vs XT w/ CVT? I'm on the fence, looking for a used '17-18, and cant decide if I can live with a CVT, even though its got much more power than the manual 2.5 version. My buddy just told me the XT (maybe both?) are known to have CVT issues, so Subaru extended the warranty to 10 year/100k, which gives me pause because I wanted to keep this for a while. Thoughts?
Which drl strips do you have. I just got a 2015 Subaru Forester 2.0XT Premium. I used to. Have a 04 subaru wrx, but I got tboned and they totaled it out. Please let me know Sarah, thanks.
Hi Sarah ! Does your car have a roof window? Do you open it when you’re driving? I would like to know whether it’s convenient. I’m thinking whether I order roof window option for a new car. 🤔

Just got myself a 2018 XT and been watching most of your videos and was curious cause most tuners won’t touch newer XTs since the cvt can’t handle much more torque then stock what’s your opinion?
Hey Sarah!! Great work and I Love your Blogs! Question? What kind of rims and tires do you have on your Forester? And Keep up the good work! Cheers from San Diego! Take care!
I see you have some 245/45R18 tires... that's the size I've been wanting to get for mine but I've been having a hard time finding a set of wheels to go well with that size. I have a set of Enkei PSR5 wheels currently wearing Blizzaks for the winter, but they're only 8" wide and I'm not confident they'll handle a 245 tire well. What are the specs of your Prodrives there? Sarah,
You don't cross directional tires 😣 Hope you get that fixed ☺
zigzagbob99 Yokohama Advan Sport A/S tires are asymmetrical, they are not directional like you’re thinking.
Sarah -n- Tuned, that make sense. I thought they are directional 🤔 Keep up the good work and I am so excited for your partnership with TFL 👍
@@zigzagbob99
Do I assume correctly 'directional' is a reference to the tire's tread and in which direction it was designed to rotate?
@@Fireholder1 you are correct, I was referring to the tire tred. I am not sure if the Yokohama Advan Sport a/s tires are directional or not, but you don't cross directionsl tires when you rotate them.
