    Hello. I have been a professional DJ for more than 30 years, at first panic seizes you but over the years you need the public to motivate you and get to the maximum level of concentration, manage to control the situation (I imagine the same thing will happen to you). Now I am "returning" to pool billiards and it is difficult for me to control my concentration although I often succeed, I have always compared the situation "Dj vs. Billiards" and I was very surprised to see that you have done it too, it is incredible. Thank you very much for your advice. Greetings from Barcelona (Spain).

    Great stuff as always, thank you for all that you do! I'd like to add one thing to this I think of a movie that really inspired emotion in me like the scene where the hero comes through the last second and wins. I envision this in my head and that emotion flows through me and overrides my nervousness.

    I’ve been trying to take my game to the next level by calming my nervousness whenever I play someone. I play really well when I’m alone, but whenever I am playing another person I start to shake and make errors that I don’t normally make. I really appreciate these tips and will implement in my next training session. Thank you Niels Feijen.

    Ever since I have developed a good amount of skill, I have been an excellent pressure player. One problem with this is, now I depend on pressure to play good lol! It's like a drug!
    My take on it is, the pressure is your friend unless, you let pressure be friends with fear. They will always be side by side, but you can't let fear run the show. You brilliantly handled this by telling your self those 3 things you mentioned in this video! Great simplified advice!

    Hi Niels, you are a great player and fun to watch! Glad to see you have a youtube channel, I'm sure I can learn some from your videos. Quick question, does doing drills help with playing under pressure? I shoot really well until it is tournament time and looking for ways to up my game. Seems like when I'm under pressure I collapse.

    I get more nervous around instructors and practicing around others than playing for some reason. Maybe, it's because I don't have money on the line in my league games or my A.D.D. allows hyper-focus to block it out. No idea. Now getting mad, yep! I have to calm down and remember it's just a game from time to time when I do something stupid. Blood pressure goes up, astigmatism gets worse, shooting gets worse, and it's bad.

    A month ago my APA 🎱 team made it to tri-annual playoffs and THE NIGHT BEFORE I got bumped from a SL5 to SL 6. Then I got matched with a SL7. I was so nervous during one game that this happened; I drew back on a ball for perfect position on a side pocket shot. So I take a look at two other balls to figure out where I want the cue ball to be after I make the side pocket shot. Then I FORGOT about the side pocket shot and went for one of those balls! The ball I was supposed to hit next wasn’t even a foot from the cue ball and it completely disappeared for me until I missed and got back to my seat and realized it was still sitting there. 😧🤦🏻‍♂️

    i know that this is a different subject but is possible that your center vision changes once in a while. i check my vision center atleast once a month and it has always been to the right side of my nose bridge and i checked it last week and it was the center of my nose and chin. I am hitting the mighty x every time now . what are your thoughts?

    • @robdetuinman2
      @robdetuinman2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Usually people start out with their cue under their chin and in time holding it under their dominant eye.
      If you hit the Mighty X now every time i dont think you have to worry.

  • @brett6314
    @brett6314 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    One time our team was in playoffs, I had just got a carbon shaft (during the tournament, it was immediately helpful). So I'm sitting out on the chair, get my turn to shoot. I grab my stick start shooting. Hit in 4 balls that flowed in a nice pattern; with my Break Cue! My team was over there laughing at me. Didn't notice them, the horrible clicking sound when I shot. Ugh. Beer helps me. Need less now that I've played more. Gotta left shots go

  • @EDCabrera1

    interestingly the paradoxical intentions work. In a boxing match when I was young I remember getting rocked by a great shot. And instead of freaking out over his power. I would say to myself… “ great shot, Is that all you got! You hit like a girl… i always recovered and was never knocked out.

      Hahahaha, well I can help you by offering the ONLY mental training courses especially for competitive pool players:
      terminator-college.com/
      AND / OR you can do a "Personal Player Review"!!
      I'll explain how that works:
      You will get totally personal feedback on your game from a top pro player! I'm sure you will benefit a lot from.
      It works like this:
      1) You upload a match / sparring session or a training session where you play for example 9-ball against "the ghost". Upload that on TH-cam with a private link.
      Please put the Camera in front of the table, that works best, but any angle from recorded matches or sessions is also fine 🙂
      You get a full screen recording with analysis and tips!!🔥
      This way I show you with the mouse which routes and options were better. So you're seeing AND hearing, which really speeds up your learning curve a ton!
      Prices are 1,50euro per minute, minimum 30min
      Let me know if you are interested.
      Greetz,
      Niels!
