I'm captaining an APA team of absolute beginners. It's a team of engineers from work. From the beginning, I've always used Jasmine as the one of the best examples of good form (along with Niels Feijen and Albin Ouschan). Now that Jasmin is publishing training vids, It's obvious that she's also a natural teacher who can relate to students, beginning and advanced. Great job, Jasmin. Keep it up!

@Jeff Watts A player status. 551 to 600 fargo score. There's different rating systems. If someone just decides to pick up a cue stick they could play every day for the rest of their lives and not get to that level. If your not an A player you are really not going to be able to compete at much.

My practice routine has included lining up the balls and shooting stop shots for some time. It always amuses me that players always ask me what I am doing. A straight in, stop shot is one of the hardest to make. The cue ball gives instant feedback if you hit an object ball a wee bit left or right. To make 15 straight and get good stops is a real confidence builder for all shots. Thanks for the instruction Jasmin.

As to your 3rd point, I've noticed that failing to commit to the shot (e.g., you weren't sure if you wanted to shoot the object ball directly into the pocket or play a combo) results in "splitting the difference," which usually means a missed shot.

Loving all of your videos! Love your whit and humor. Also, I love how humble you are, by showing us and telling us mistakes you’ve made in the past. After all, we are all human and sometimes second-guess ourselves. One big mistake I make a lot is the one you explained here, that my mind will wander while I’m down on a shot, especially if I’m nervous. My inner saboteur takes over, causing me to miss a vital shot. I also have a hard time with rail shots with the ball frozen to the rail. I either hit it too full, or rail first. Hardly ever find the sweet spot. So frustrating! 😩

No Body movement, no aiming change when you're down, no hesitate AND PUSH THROUGH THE BALL! The frustrating thing is that these mistakes can still happen after thousands of hours of training🙂Unfortunately it is often enough to get them just a little wrong... Video recordings of my own sessions helped me a lot to understand and improve this. Because far worse than a mistake is not understanding what you did wrong. From my point of view this is the most common reason why players don't really get better despite training. Great (and nice) video!
