Just decided to leave my own two cents, I’ve been running on Prozac for around 2-3 years, believe me when I say the side effects go away, I had the issue with too much energy, I was sleeping around 2 hours a day and was NEVER out of energy, this subsided after around 3-4 weeks, I’ve never encountered ANY other side effects ☺️
I've been on Venlafaxine (Effexor) for about 6 months and it makes me sleep 12+ hours a day sometimes. Sometimes even 16 hours. Always tired. My doctor just told me to taper off Venlafaxine and try Fluoxetine (Prozac) now. I guess this might fix my low energy problem..?
Fluxotine saved my life. As I’ve struggled with social anxiety for most of my life, and my anxiety got tremendously worse when I was abusing alcohol. Which led to suicidal contemplation. I highly recommend prozac/fluxotine. *RECAP* I stoped taking Prozac due to personal issues in my relationship, so I stoped abruptly just so I can abuse alcohol. Long story short, I am on venlafaxine and have been on it since late December, 2021. Much more effective imho
These medications are like a credit card. They will take a toll on you. My grandma has been taking fluoxetine for years and she has completely lost her mind. She developed psicosis, amnesia. She doesn't know who anyone is. And she is sad and depressed, like an empty shell. Be careful.
@zeki- congrats! I’m so happy to hear that you found a treatment that helps control symptoms. Anxiety can be very debilitating and finding something that works can be nothing short of miraculous!
@@aliciam7774 Yes, Fluoride is a key ingredient of many psychiatric drugs like fluoxetine (Prozac®, Fluoxetine®). Fluoride is a neurotoxin (despite being heavily used in dental application, municipal water and the pharmaceutical industry), there’s plenty of correlative data to insinuate this, and it passes the blood brain barrier along with many other things such as aluminum. These drugs work in the short and intermediate term for many people but I feel as if there may be long-term ramifications that aren’t looked into enough. Sorry about your grandma by the way.
Blimey you sound exactly like me. It took doctors 30 years to diagnose me with GAD by then I thought i was a alcoholic I was literally on suicidal death row for 3 years until I took prozac . Setraline failed effexor xr was to mindbending to stay on lexapro did 30 percent of the job. There is a reason prozac is so expensive and that is because it is the best 👌 there is a reason it was the only antidepressants to become a fashion trend and that is because it generally works on most people that truly need it. What people have to remember is that these medications are for genuinely ill people who have absolutely no other way out not for people who are depressed because they can't be bothered to go to the gym. I am saying this because these medications have to be for life for people with disorders. Obviously people with disorders have the option to take them or not but if a person needs them they need to remain on them because of the way they work. No antidepressants works once a person stops taking it. They are reuptake meaning they use the serotonin we have more efficiently and block it from escaping the brain to quickly, stop taking and your back to square one. This is why people can commit suicide also they think the medication didn't work but all they needed to do was keep taking it. They all work differently on different people so don't stay on one medication to long if it's only slightly helping when potentially it could work 100 percent or near to. It took 6 weeks and 2 days for me to get any benefit from prozac and 11 weeks before it started to eradicate my rumination and crippling worry. I can drive and breathe at the same time now it's not perfect any days or all day but it's a world away from a mind that was telling me to kill myself sometimes 5 hours a day. I haven't drank for 3 years and will never drink again it's just asking for a breaking bad meth lab in my mind to turn me crazier. I have a chemical imbalance I don't need to add to it. When I got my diagnosis for GAD I finally understood alcohol was my escape from my overthinking but without medication 💊 I'd still be fooked.
I started taking 20mg today and it's like night and day. It's like a weight has been lifted from the trauma that I experienced as a child. Your helped me in understanding the mechanisms of it better and more confident in continuing my treatment. Thanks 😎

@@emc7056 Honestly I felt a big difference on the first day. and that impressed me as most SSRIs take a month to take effect. I was seriously lacking in serotonin so I felt a huge difference from the first day. This drug has changed my life a lot in less than a month and I feel great now.

I am currently on 60mg of fluoxetine and 150mg of Bupropion. Probably going to 300mg in 2 weeks. I do feel a bit better. The sharpness of the extreem bad days are gone. So it definitely helps me to stay alive.
Can confirm. I'm on 40mg, up from 20mg. I've taken it for 8 days so far, and am dealing with dry mouth, heartburn, and abdominal pain. I can deal with the discomfort, but I can counteract that. I might be taking this for life, unfortunately. The last time I stopped taking Lexapro, or any other antidepressant? I ended up in a mental health facility, and have been there for 3 years. Cannot (and will not) do this again.
Same thing here. But croosed the globe down near to the antartic. Mh heart felt diferent now I can relate to the same heart burn. Could not cry that was the best part. The major part it feels like I killed one part of me. The weak one and for which i now can rest in piece
I have been on Fluoxetine for a little over a week now. It has made me really anxious but I understand it is normal to feel this way during the first couple weeks on this medication.
@@Yunandmochi When I got into recovery I had gotten tired of Psychiatrists that didn't seem to want to help me. I paid some money to see a psychologist (they are usually the ones who diagnose and treat) I took my Mother and My X Girlfriend so it would be fair and he could hear my issues from different people. The Dr. Gave us all a 20 question checklist. At the time I didn't know ADHD and ADD wasn't limited to just children. I was adamant about finding my answer.. The more questions I answered I noticed they seemed to be going in a certain direction. I didn't see what my mother and friend had written. When they all were put together they matched. The diagnosis wasn't easy. At the end he told me he believed ADHD was a high probability. He wanted to do a placebo test. Have me take notes to see if the meds worked. In today's world it's hard find someone who truly wants to help. I'm glad that guy did.
@@Humbledone. It's my opinion that Antidepressants are the equivalent of using radiation and chemo but for mental illness if you ask me. 95% of them made things worse for me and I started hearing voices on two of them (Prozac and Zoloft) It's my opinion that these meds are far more dangerous than they tell people. I'd be very careful and if I was asked for the “safest" it would be Effexor and Cymbalta. It's my opinion that drug companies push antidepressants like they pushed Oxycontin onto people in the 1990s and told them it was "safe" I can only speak from my personal experiences though.
Thank you for explaining this medication in a way I can Understand. Please either turn DOWN the music or get rid of it entirely. It’s very distracting. Thank you so much.
I started 3 days ago for pmdd, my doc had me start a week prior to next pms. I feel the affects immediately though, and they are amazing. Focus, motivation, being present, emotional control, even increase appetite, they are ALL GOOD effects. Hope it works through this cycle. Any reason you can think of that it worked immediately?
@@ancientfern2693 it's possible that your system could just have accepted it very quickly and it could have just worked quicker than average. Or, as much as you don't want to hear it, it could be possible that the placebo effect is taking over.

@@GrayTheMartian My message to both of you is stop immediately and get another Doctor. Floxitine can't affect you after only a few days, it takes weeks to take full effect. You will be come addicted to this mediation, I was on it 26 years and was bounced around from Doctor to Doctor for decades. I finally tried it in my mid thirties, and it was a huge mistake. Just before Covid I lost my Doctor and my meds. It's a complicted story but once you are on this med you will be a prisoner of it the rest of your life and you are vunerable to people who might want to hurt you or have biased against you. .They are lying, it is an extremely addictive med. I would only take it as a very last resort after trying everything else from Diet, exercise, to MOVING. Many people live in the wrong environments for their constitution. Please do not take this medication unless you are on you very last ropes. I am now in my sixties and when you get older, they lose interest in helping you that is the bottom line. Now I am off the med and deeply depressed with no where to turn and my trust in the system broken. Also, under no circumstamces are you to take the Experimental Covid shots if you have been taking an SSRI. It is potentially deadly and they are not telling you. Only take this med if you are prepared to stay on it permanently or switch around SSRIs the rest of your life, and I mean until death. They put seniors at the end and in hospice on Floxitine or other SSRIs often without thier knowledge to try to make the end less horrible. Only in extreme circumstances should you try these drugs, they spoiled my life and made it worse. I became slave to the drug and ended up never doing much of anything constructive with my life, just going from appointment to appointment year after year with people using me. Also, only if you have a support system willing to defend you help you and care for you should you have adverse effects from these drugs! There is nobody for me to hold accountable now.
It's to soon for you to have any side effects other than the immediate ones like drowsiness , see my comments below and quit this drug immediately. After a while it will be nearly impossible to get off, they are lying. Most people end up spending years weaning off of it after taking it only a few months. There is something in your LIFESTYLE making you depressed; drugs, alcohol, oh and by the way, SSRIs can't be takin safely by people who drink alcohol. That's 80% of all people in the world.. They do not tell you the truth espacilly if they are on the left. Stop taking it NOW, and find another Doctor who gives you the hard line; you aren't eating right, getting enough exercise, or pursuing a life devoid of any meaning or substance. Cell phones are also making people depressed. Find a charity to volunteer or work for. Give your life some meaning and purpose. Most of all DON'T TAKE THESE MEDS unless you are on your death bed within weeks.
@@FeatheryBird i have anxiety and panic attacks every single night . It can't get any better without Prozac. I just started it . I don't want to be dependent on meds , but since I can't fix it in any other way , i chose to take it . My psychiatrist told me that i have to do CBT therapy at the same time when taking the meds to see what's going wrong with me and start working towards being happier and healthier. She told me i I'll have to take the pills for 3-4 months or 6 while doing CBT . She said that this ways i won't have to take Prozac for any longer than that . So 🤷 this can't be the best for everyone but i think some people might really need this medication long-term .
@@FeatheryBird I’m no doctor, but 26 years on SSRIs sounds like an extremely long time to take them . It seems at that point, it’s almost safe to assume that your body is depleted of serotonin and dopamine to where your body is fully reliant on the drug. Everyone’s chemistry is different, and it honestly just sounds like your chemical balance is really off. The idea that your body has stopped interacting correctly with these chemicals is further implied by you feeling depressed even after 26 years. I know a guy who was on it for 4 years and claimed even that was much longer than it’s intended to be used. I’m unfortunately at a point where when I try to climb out of my hole it just grows deeper and Prozac (along with Hydroxyzine and Vraylar which I have also been prescribed) are my last hope, unless the medications cause bad results in which I’ll have to consult my doctor and change. Honestly I’ve smoked marijuana for three years and it helps with my depression a lot. I know some people who claim it helps with anxiety and while that may have been true for a bit, I get pretty anxious on it now. It should be used in moderation and obviously only if you’re in a legal state (though I won’t say whether I’m in one or not), but it could definitely be an option. Again, take into consideration that it’s also something you can get dependent on and make you more depressed the more you use it, causing the time you’re not high to be a pretty rough experience. Really hope you find some peace soon.
I'm 16 in my senior year and these side effects sound really scary.. Just got mine today but I still need my focus for school, and people keep saying they felt like a zombie😕

Totally understandable. I’m on my eighth day on it. It has made me really anxious but my doctor said it’s normal to feel that way during the first couple weeks.
Talk to your Doctor about CBD oil for anxiety. You do not get the “high” effect that people associate with marijuana (THC) I had bad experience SSRI,s (Prozac being one of them) Been on CBD treatment for about a year, no more anxiety, panic attacks and I participate in random tox screens (employment) and have never had a dirty test result. I’m not saying that it will provide same results with everyone as we are all different but it is just another possibility to look into.
So I have extreme anxiety and panic attacks mostly triggered when I eat so past month I've barely been able to eat without feeling like throwing up which in turn starts my panic attack
I’ve been on them for 2 days. I’ve never been this disoriented. I feel nauseous, forgetful and really out of it. Kinda slurring too. I hope this wares off.
Lennie Gottman i had to stop taking it because it heightened my anxiety really bad. Never had panic attacks until taking prozac. Suppose it only works with some people.
Best medicine there is is cognitive treatment and getting out of that self isolating bubble. Side effects, might be anxiety, tiredness and uncomfortable at first but when your over it, your over it without drugs. I have CPTSD and I have figured out just how much my own attitude can make me make it or break it. I dont lke to think that CPTSD defines me, I like to think that one day I can be free of it if I expose myself enough to the challenges I have. And believe me cogniive treatment works, one just have to stand up for oneself.
Started with a 20mg and then got bumped up to 40mg. It’s made my anxiety a lot worse and I constantly have a very aggressive behavior that includes breaking things and putting other life’s at risk. Not to mention the suicidal thoughts, Will be looking into another medicine. I just wanted to give some extra information in case someone is just started it. This medicine is not for me but could be for you, keep an open mind.
I was put on Prozac 20mg in 09/1991. I took it religiously because I believed it was going to help my clinical depression. It didn't. It only numbed me but I still felt depressed. It didn't help my "Pure O" form of OCD, either. Then after about 3 years, I started acting out in an extremely anti-social way. If I hadn't stopped taking the Prozac on my own in 08/1996, I'm sure I would have ended up in jail. I never suspected the bad behavior could've been brought on by the drug so I never talked about it with the psychiatrist. But when I decided to just stop taking it I was surprised when the bad behavior completely disappeared after about 2 weeks, which I found out is how long it takes for the drug to be eliminated from the body. Prozac, for me, was the devil in disguise.
Hi sir namasthe !!! I am suffering from morning fatigue with depression and anxiety. I had alprozalam 2 years but not get positive result, my daily life is like a task. tell me some suggestion please.
I have a question, are these "medications" just temporary bandaids? Meaning they help you feel better so long as you are on them but as soon as you stop the depression/anxiety comes and even comes back worse. If so what's the point then? You are just pushing the problem further down the road but not actually helping the patient.
I got my Prozac prescription yesterday from my PCP provider the generic brand Fluoxetine HCL 10MG. I just took my first pill today Wednesday August 24th, at 1:25 am since I work from 12am to 8 am. I'm crossing my fingers and I am feeling anxious already and feeling scare about how I am going to feel soon. I hope I don't get a panic attack. I'm feeling weird right now but maybe is because I'm feeling very anxious about what feelings and symptoms I am going to experience soon. Prey for me yall. LOL. I'm trying to stay positive!!!

Dr.Richarson, are there any long-term side effects ? I started with Prozac in 2008 (20 mg on a daily basis). The Doctor who prescribed Fluoxetine to me, died in 2016. So I had to visit an other doctor, and she always says: " Do you feel good? Well than it is alright. Keep on."
You decide. Keep in mind, they sell prescriptions. Whatever it takes to keep you paying big pharma, take is what matters for them. Kickbacks are a part of prescription. Ultimately, YOU not your doctor makes that decision.
I hope someone can help me. My daughter is 10y/o. Was in the hospital in Dec, 2022 for observation for suicidal throughts and was there for 2 wks and was given Prozac 10mg daily. When she got out she continued the rx until now… I noticed she was super hyper for the first 3 wks and then it seems like she was doing ok but just 3 wks ago from today she’s been getting in a lot of trouble by the school, talking back to everyone.. just always angry. I took Prozac for two months for depression when I was about 15. I believe it started triggering my manic episodes almost daily (Didn't realize I had bipolar and some psychoactive symptoms at the time), I assumed it was changing my personality or the like (My therapist didn't seem to have functional communication with my doctor, and my counselor who claimed they did, had shown null signs of communication as well), so I dead quit Prozac. I recall no issues from doing this, but I am curious as to why that might cause any detrimental issues... possibly within the context stated.
I used to take Prozac and Concerta as a youth. Around grade 8 my energy levels were messed up bad and I realized something was wrong, so I dead ass stopped both of them. No problems at all with me doing it either. Energy levels came back a little bit, but not fully. Even to this day, I'm almost always tired.

My doctor recommended me this medication, however I didn't went for depression and anxiety, I went for fatigue. I've never felt anxious or depress so I don't feel that I should take it
What is better Prozac or lexapro for depression and anxiety? I have been on lexapro for over 20 yrs now and I was thinking of switching. I also am on Wellbutrin. I also need to get a sleep study, my sleep is choppy and I snore, says my wife lol. Idk I just thought about switching things up for a change.
I’ve been on all three. Lexapro is usually better tolerated and is better in the libido department. Wellbutrin is activating and can cause insomnia because in increases norepinephrine.

On a certain level, we have a drug store in our brain, the neurochemicals that show up in flow: so dopamine, norepinephrine, anandamide, endorphins, and serotonin. If you were to try to cocktail the street drug version of that, right, you're trying to blend like heroin and speed and coke and acid and weed- and point is, you can't do it. It turns out the brain can cocktail all of 'em at once, which is why people will prefer flow to almost any experience on Earth. It's our favorite experience. It's the most addictive experience on Earth. Why? 'Cause it cocktails five or six of the largest pleasure drugs the brain can produce. We're all capable of so much more than we know. That is a commonality across the board. And one of the big reasons is we're all hardwired for flow, and flow is a massive amplification of what's possible for ourselves.
Hi guys. Had been on floxitene 60 my for the last 2yrs and 40 mg for 19yrs recently had to come of it and go onto something new. It was hell coming off them scared to go to sleep with vivid dreams and night swets among other side effects. I wish you all luck. It can be done.
When I was on Sertraline, I had no more anxiety but it didn't help with my depression, and also caused emotional bluntness. I augmented it with Bupropion but I felt wired all the time and even more numb. Soo you didn’t respond to me lolz it’s cool just came back across your comment somehow and wanted to let you know, I just read that yes it’s normal, the tics are like a neurological response to our brain being short-circuited on the drug. Prozac works for me and im bipolar with mania i dont think ive got good highs only lows ive had a manic episode was sent to hospital to see if im suicidal. Horible life problems that seem too much for me to handle
Mania is the "high" and depression is the "low". So if you are bipolar...it is probably Bipolar I not Bipolar II ...most women are diagnosed Bipolar I(one). It is the depressive type and has severe lows that make live unbearable. Prozac is great for mood regulation.

My depression is terrible, I’ve I always suffered from it and attempted suicide 4-5 times. I always go back on Psy meds and quit after a couple of months. I also take Lamictal it’s keeps my moods more tolerable. Thank you for your presentation on Prozac was helpful for me and it may keep me to continue with it. And give my psychiatrist a break from my non compliance with meds.
Just took it and it's amazing it works so well I'm leveled and just feeling alright maybe idk numb but no lows or highs and occasional mood swings which is what I fucking been looking for def good for someone who is bipolar I just don't know which one I am and it kills the anxiety I get
@@tessalogan586 no and yes? I really can't give a straight forward answer because I've always dealt with drowsiness for a few years so Im fine but usually antidepressants have that drowsiness affect and many other medications so it's really up to you to find out how your body will react it takes time finding what would be right for you.
I was like that for 6 weeks and 2 days. It was like the breaking bad meth lab in my head , it tends to make anxiety worse before it makes it better then all of a sudden you will hopefully wake up one day with a smile on your face your anxiety should suddenly drop and you won't quite believe just how amazing you feel. I doubted it would work because all others I tried failed or made me even looper but prozac is a joy to behold. Just keep swapping medications every 3 months if they don't feel like they are working don't settle for feeling OK when one medication might make you feel great. Ptsd is a tricky one especially mixed with ocd if this doesn't work paxil can be good for ocd but mix it with cognitive therapy treatment that is crucial you have to understand how your mind works to live with the way you are and to accept that you are the way you are. If you think negative and play the deal a bad card game then you will always be dealt bad cards. The medication should make you feel at least 70 percent more normalised and settle down the overthinking but will it sort out flashbacks that is highly unlikely and you will probably sleep very little or to much for a couple of months.
Yeaaah this medication did not work for me. I became suicidal 4 weeks in. Debilitating anxiety. I was recently prescribed Wellbutrin but I'm afraid of getting more depressed or anxious
Thank you for sharing. My son was taking fluoxetine and died by suicide because of the drug "side" effect. It's just an Effect of taking a toxic substance.
Got a prescription for this stuff for my ocd and depression. I’m terrified to take it. I have sleep issues that require medicine as it is. I tried lexapro and it made everything worse along with sexual side effects. I don’t want to keep doing this trial and error stuff….
I'm not a doctor, but I can explain how the drugs work. Prozac "locks" the "door" serotonin leaves the neurons through, so more serotonin is available to be used. Zyprexa works by changing the balance of dopamine and serotonin in the brain, which helps lift mood and reduce symptoms of psychotic disorders. Zyprexa is an atypical antipsychotic, not an SSRI. There is a risk of serotonin syndrome when any serotonin-affecting drugs are combined, so do call your doctor is you have a high fever or other symptoms. The risk of TD with atypical antipsychotics like Zyprexa is lower than older drugs, so you should be okay. Hope I helped!
I have been battling gad for years they found a mass on my lung that the er is saying really a good chance of cancer well now my anxiety is out of control can't get test done for another two months so my mind runs wild haven't slept but maybe 30 minutes a night for about three months they gave me Prozac but scared to try sence they say it gets worse before better freaked out
A lot of times, we can prevent anxiety from escalating by starting low dose-wise and increasing slowly overtime to get symptoms under better control. Try talking with your provider about your concerns. It should be a team approach!
Thank you for the video! Some antidepressants like celexa cause a lot of weight gain. Is prozac weight neutral where it doesn’t tend to cause weight gain or loss?
Same also 15 years when I took it I had ticks it was about 12 months in. I soon decided to stop it as for me it was not making any difference if I took it or not I gave it good 2 years and for many years after I felt ok didn’t even feel the withdrawal at all although I stopped cold turkey ( maybe I really didn’t need it) maybe as it’s longer lasting I didn’t feel it it stays in your system for a while even after stopping it. Thankfully the ticks did dissipate months or so after stopping it. Only thing in fine print it does say ticks like leg twitching ect can become a permanent issue but think if you stay on it very long time. I just now started to take it again 15 yrs later. It’s not helping me as much than again it’s only been a month. My friend though had extreme improvement in good life when he took it. Everyone’s different. I agree out of many antidepressants ( that made me feel like zombie only sleep not wanting to do anything and weight gain) Prozac had least of any of these side effects. Only into a year I started getting involuntary neck limb arm twitching ( involuntarily ticks) so I decided it was good idea to stop but I was on it enough time more than a year. I’d talk to the pharmacist as my doctor didn’t know anything when it came to drugs/ meds sidesffdcts ect even dosing. Than again i knew somewhat as equal about dosing as I’m a nurse. Sometimes and this is also longer into the treatment you can get loss of sexual desire this is dependant in dosing and more in men. The higher the dossge the more chances you get some of the sidedffects. I was ok with the 20 but some people feel that after trying on lowest which is actually 10mg they need to go to a couple or few months in to 20 or40mg. I personally especially if your worried about size effects would not dabble into anything more than 40 mg per day. Again some people’s depression and the need to be medicated at higher level is very severe vs moderate so I’d talk it over with a dr. I just do not enjoy feeling medicated and feeling lack of motivation which at 2omg I felt great and actually started to get more feeling to go out to join a gym or be social . There are people with more severe mental disorders than mild to moderate depression and I’m not commenting on that specctrum lines my friend did example had psychosis that was just treated s as depression when the right treatment for him was to add certain meds to vis depression regime that break specific to the psychosis etc .
Depends on duration on medication. Talk to your doctor. In fine pamphlet shows this as side effect. It CAN become permanent, depending on how long and the dosage the higher the dosage, higher the sideffects.

Thank you doctor, very informative, if i may give the doctor some productive feedback to improve audio in videos: 1- consider acoustic foam, or thick curtains, your audio has a lot of reverb it’s difficult to hear. 2- the backing track should have the low end equilized and that audio should preferably be compresed and low volume as its overtaking the speech. Hope your videos will get better audio as time goes by. XOXO 💋
Appreciate you watching and the feedback. Check out some of my more recent videos. I’ve tried to address that and make some better changes. They don’t teach these things in med school so it’s definitely been a learning process. Thanks again!

Day 2 for me . It took me years to ask for help but I’m hoping it works .

@@Humbledone.

This medicine is not for me but could be for you, keep an open mind.
how long were you on it because usually it takes 4-6 weeks to feel the full benefits and sometimes more js depending on your metabolism

@@foxsisters6257 thank you
I have a question, are these "medications" just temporary bandaids? Meaning they help you feel better so long as you are on them but as soon as you stop the depression/anxiety comes and even comes back worse. If so what's the point then? You are just pushing the problem further down the road but not actually helping the patient.
I got my Prozac prescription yesterday from my PCP provider the generic brand Fluoxetine HCL 10MG.
I just took my first pill today Wednesday August 24th, at 1:25 am since I work from 12am to 8 am.
I am going to take it everyday at this time. I already set my alarm on my iphone. I took it without food.
How are you
How are you feeling now?
I used Prozac for a week and had to discontinue . I had no side effects but noticed that intrusive thoughts intensified and feeling of dread and fear intensified also.
I reached out to my doctor and asked if that was normal. Was told its side effects I’m experiencing and to stop using immediately.
I was hopeful it would help.Ive also decided to not be on any medication ever again.
My anxiety because of health reasons, id convinced myself something was wrong when it wasn’t.
i was prescribed fluoxetine 20mg yesterday and i’m not sure how i feel about it? i read some comments and am getting nervous to keep taking it.

I just want you both to know there really not that bad! Lots of these comments scared me when I was first going on them to the point where I had an anxiety attack. They work really well other then feeling disoriented and confused but it only lasts a week! If you get any of the other side effects just go to your doctor and let them know. But I’ve been on them for like almost a month and I feel really good! I barely get bad panic attacks anymore and like my sleep schedule is back to normal. Life is good don’t stress you guys! ❤️
I declared my mental condition for the first time and started seeking help, i got prescribed 50mg, is this high for first timers?
@@kennethmajorSG it’s pretty high, but then again I’m no doctor but I don’t think it will affect you that bad, if any bad side effects come up just ask for a lower dose.
@@vinayvinny7758 exactly I think I’m on my third month now and I wouldn’t be able to function normally without them, not that I’m dependant on them or anything just they keep me calm and also if I do get panic attacks they last like 5 minutes rather then however long they were before
Hi , I’m on 20mg for sleep insomnia for horrid anxiety panic attacks lately from chronic pain and ocd researching fears. I’m in week 4 waiting for results, did well last week but spiraled bc still lack of sleep even with trazadone and my eyes are seeing filters and fuzzy ness and static and I’m falling apart all day. My tinnitus is worse, maybe be Prozac or my sleep issues or anxiety
When will this get better? My doc is tele and I have to wait 1 month for my appt to ask any questions and I’m spiraling in fear.
Do side affects start fading after 4 weeks?
Update doc had me stop Prozac cold Turkey switch to Effexor
you need to balance Prozac for first 4 weeks with anti anxiety pills. the mania phase will go away. I AM SHOCKED DOCTOR DIDN'T TELL YOU THIS
Dr.Richarson, are there any long-term side effects ?

It’s been almost 3 months… and I’m very worried. I have been contacting mental health clinics and they do not see children under 12.
SSRI use by itself in those with underlying bipolar disorder can trigger manic episodes

I’ve taken Wellbutrin up to 450mgs a day. It helped a lot. Discontinued use, two yrs later I feel like I’m dealing with this again, will Prozac be good for me? 🆘
Man you are really amazing. You are honest with everything
My doctor recommended me this medication, however I didn't went for depression and anxiety, I went for fatigue. I've never felt anxious or depress so I don't feel that I should take it
It helps fatigue.
It changed my life. Also prescribed for fatigue.
Same i started tonight 38 yr old female pmdd, chronic fatigue, endometriosis, mood swings. Im hoping for an energetic happy pill.

Just started this for my PTSD OCD and anxiety and it's making me feel very strange

Exactly..
I'm here because of David Blaine's remarks to Gen on Kitchen Nightmares, Gen didn't really know what Prozac.
60 Prozac used also with Zyprexa please tell me how that works ? My concern is these drugs being SSRI and the possibility of Tardive Dyskinesia

How are u now?? I'm on day 7.
i take prozac and i am starting to get tics and i yawn a lot. Is this something to worry about?

Appreciate you watching and the feedback. Check out some of my more recent videos. I’ve tried to address that and make some better changes. They don’t teach these things in med school so it’s definitely been a learning process. Thanks again!
Ummm I have been seeing lots of people talking about teeth weakening breaking? Falling out? My teeth have gotten sensitive and I’ve only been on this for 5 weeks…. It’s working I think but I don’t want it to effect my teeth hair and skin. My skin seems to be having acne that went away…. I started taking this and it’s back
Does fluoxetine work in treating social phobias?

Are uh cured ? Plzz reply
Please, please think about taking the background music off of this video. It's almost impossible to make out the dialogue audio and the music is just so unnecessary.
