Hi Yvan and Sylvie, I just wanted to send you guys a massive "THANK YOU" for your time and effort in creating these videos for us all. I am seriously considering buying a coach to convert and "LIVE " in, then travel, work and explore Australia. I have just binged watched your entire series and now have a clear picture for what is actually involved in this scale of build and for that I am truly grateful, again "THANK YOU GUYS" I also love the way you and Sylvie work together with your combined passion excitement and enthusiasm, it really shows and pops through the camera out onto the screen. I no doubt will be in touch for advice once my own build is underway if that is OK? Kind regards Dan Blackmore Brisbane Queensland Australia
Problem located. Sealed off return fuel line and applied 75 lbs of pressure to injectors. Found fuel leaking from center injector. Decided to replace all 6 injectors with new ones.
Don't wait too long. If one injector fuels much more than the others it will create a lot of extra heat in that cylinder. I'm sure I'm not telling you anything you don't already know though, you're a pretty sharp feller. 😁
@@LacroixCruiser you mention you need to get the fuel out of the engine so it didn’t end up all over . Where do we blow the air through ? The line that came off the back of the head or into the block itself? Sorry for the confusion
Question for you... Do you know the Jake model number ? Do you valve covers have a spacer between the cover and the head ? How much clearance is there between the top of the valve cover and the underside of the floor ? FYI, truck Jake brakes are taller and stronger than truck Jake brakes and need a taller valve cover. Or so I'm told. Excellent content !

I'm about to open injectors tomorrow on 12.7 DD series 60. Is there anyway to get the diesel out of the engine before I open the injectors. I don't have access to air compressor. Is getting diesel out necessary?
My 12.7 ddec 3 runs good , but i smell raw fuel . It smokes at cold start white smoke until warms up at 130 degrees coolant people say that's normal. Do you think i have bad injectors? Do to strong diesel smell?@@LacroixCruiser
So that 1 "5/8 O ring that you dropped on the injector bore..did you have to remove injector cup??. Or u just dropped it in ? Also does that 1"5/8 O ring ...is the same thing as using the graphite style washer??.. Because I just replaced injectors..and used graphite washer on
Do you not have to remove the brass/copper crush washer thing in the bottom? Or is that thick oring the only thing that seals the injectors, kinda like the new injectors with the brass crush ring thing on them now?
@@LacroixCruiser Ah, OK. I know Detroit came up with a modern fix by putting that graphite/carbon washer thing on the tip of the 60 series injectors, but didn't know if the cups needed replaced every time too. Is the only time you're supposed to replace the cups, is if they are cracked?

I have a 10.72 fuel dilution on my recent test sample. 1990 6v53 in my boat. Thanks for sharing. I will pull injectors and check seal rings.
The 6V53 also has tubes going from the fuel rail to the injectors that can leak
This video should help.

Hi Yvan. You didn't mention anything about the injector calibration codes. Did you update the new injector codes in the DDEC?
Next time the bus is close to a computer that can do it, it will be done.

Very informative video. I have 12.7 dd60 I was wondering if I have to programme injectors after changing them?
We didn’t, but some people believe it’s required.
I'm on my way to see you so that we can do mines the same way. Its on a FLD120 so its easy to access.
We don’t work on other peoples engines
Do you have the calibrate in program at the replacement?
No
Do you blow the fuel through the line that comes off the head or inside the head you blow the air to? I hope this question makes sense
I unfortunately don’t understand the question.

1.2 million, no rebuild, runs great

No, as long as you change your oil before starting the engine again

No need to remove the cup. Not sure about the graphite washer.

We used a hole saw to cut a wooden disk, then added a threaded rod to it.
