Not for nothing, but thank you for that first explanation with the audio interface in the beginning. I watch many tutorials about music but seldom does anyone break down the who, what, when, when, why, and how of the process. I think I have a learning disability so hearing things explained in a very elementary way really helps me with learning more in depth once I have the foundation. Thanks!
The low latency mode was an excellent bit. I understand that it will reduce the delay between what you sing into the microphone and what you hear in the headphones. I think this is hugely important because sometimes the plug-in chain can lead to inspired performances but you can't really do it if what you hear lags behind what you sing. I've been recording without monitoring because of this problem, but now I think I will be able to monitor more effectively while recording. Thanks!
Greetings thank you for the great tutorial, but I’m having a problem. There is no signal coming from the mic. I have Max studio pro ultra logic pro latest 10.8 and the Scarlet and the blue Mic.
Charles can you do another of those "Making a song using apple loops only" but making it even more begginner friendly (for example in the last one you did you chopped a sample and replaced a note of the loop then changed the octave of the loop and that was rly hard to follow I couldnt finish the beat properly) so could you do a video without having to do these steps or at least doing a slow explanation on how you did this and that (Id rather watch a longer video with these explanations being slow then to watch the slow process of you trynna find a loop lol) and also since its a begginner type of video, you can show how to add the markers properly and when to do it like you dont need to explain everything you can do a video on that separately if you want, but you could do based on the song you made and explain why this is the chorus and that is the verse and yada yada... Rly Hope you see this and also great video 🙏🏻 Ive been focusing more on vocals instead of producing cuz I find it rly challenging to learn :')
What if I still have no sound after engaging my input? I've set it all up exactly the way you have it. I've checked all of my cables and I'm on an Apollo Twin. Thanks!
my first time trying logic pro am a long time user of FL studio. but i recorded in logic and my playback is messed up and the audio is out of place. how do i fix this issue?
How about if you turn the speaker volume off and listen the beat in the headphones as you recording the vocals in the microphone?? Help me with explanation I’m the beginner
Hey thanks a lot Charles, managed to get the right setting on Logic Pro, however the light indicator on my Focusrite 2i2 still does not give a green signal, shows a red ring, what do I do? any videos I can check
Every time i record vocals i keep hearing the other channels also playing as well , how can i just record tue vocal without hearing tue other channel play ?? Help please 🙏🏻
Ok total newbie. So I can get the mic sound and record but not sure how you get those faders on the left...I can only get my instruments and effects there 🤷
Some people like to have effects already going through their vocals before they record, would you say it’s best to add plugins to the Lead vocal track or create a bus track?
I’m so upset. I have so much passion for singing. My microphone just doesn’t sound right. I have a RODE NT1 5th Gen. I will literally pay good money for you to help me get my sound right😭
I am watching your all videos and they are very much helpful to us, but i am stucked somewhere, i am using Soundcraft Signature 12 MTK mixer connected with Mac, and Shure SM58 Mic without any interface, while recording digitally vocals are too low that i cant hear my own voice properly, i have to raise the volume to hear my self too much, and while recording in logic pro the gain is set to 0. what should i do?
Outside the subject matter of your video, but what’s your 7B chain with the Apollo? If you don’t mind sharing that is. Sounds great. I have a hard time finding a balance between muddy/harsh.
Hi Charles, first I have to say that your videos are all great and well explained. Second, I have a question, and that's when I try to record a vocal track and my mic is connected to input 1 which is the right input but it keeps recording in mono. Appreciate your help 🙏
Why does my vocals sound distorted and soooo quite and slightly muffled also when I record a harmony you can’t hear if so if I turn the gain up to hear it it just distorts
@@CharlesCleyn nice okay! Thank you for your help man 😄 it’ll be nice if you can show how to mix a beat and vocals separately before mixing altogether to finally making a wav file, is there such? 😲🙏🏽
Ye but does anyone know why it’s panned on the right only? I’m new to logic but not to making music I’ve never seen this before I don’t have the knob panned anywhere either
Hi! I just started with recording and I´m trying to figure out all the features. A problem that's always occurring is: When I plugged in everything (microphone and headphones into Focusrite etc), I can hear small, random cracking sounds every now and then (not constant). This sound is also occurring in the recordings, not only while recording. The gain is showing up green... Is there a solution to avoid it? I´m not sure how to fix it. :( I would be thankful for advice! Thank you so much. :)
Hi everyone, boost your skills even more with my free 6 pillars on learning Logic Pro: makeyourmusic.co/learn-logic
You are the best teacher I have ever learned from.
not the best singer tho,why they all sound the same backstreetboyish crap..

This was very helpful, thanks. Exactly what I needed was something simple and easy to get started.
Clear, concise. Thank you! (And thanks for the pop filter tip.)
Agreed. Possibly the best video on TH-cam because it’s the root of getting started
I used this to figure out why audio wasn't coming in via my built in mic. Thank you.
very good work !!!
I have learned a lot from you :D
This covered everything I was looking for - many thanks!
This is a great video. So clear and easy to understand ❤
Super informative 👍 can you make a video about mixing vocals and what plugins to use?

Hi sheetal, thanks for the suggestion :)
So good! What comes first? The mixing of the beat or recording vocals ?🤔
That's a great question, I usually like to get a good beat before putting vocals down so you can get the best vocal performance

Plug both into the interface and then set the input to 1 and 2
Какая версия лоджик на этом видео?)
I have the Scarlett tooooo❤
Brilliant
ah I didnt know you can switch off the low latency button so easily, definitely gonna make my life a little easier haha
I have a question. When you are pressing R for record that ensures the other tracks sounds don't spill over into your vocal track correct?
You have to enable record before it will let u record
microphone
audio interface focusrite
xlr cable
what headphones would you recommend?
hey man, I like the beyerdynamics but sony and akg are also good brands

i like this video so much,,
is shure sm7b really not good for vocals?
I personally like the sm7b, it's not for everyone though.
the question I was trying to ask actually is why you switched to other mic in the video and not continuing with Shure?
Can you teach us how to make vocals on fl studio.
I don't use fl :( come over to the bright side and use Logic :)
