Hi Charles, thanks for your great videos, they really help me as a new user of Logic. Can you (or indeed anyone else) help with a prob? I like to do my MIDI drums in separate tracks with a keyboard. My snare quantize is set at 1/8 note and my kick drum at 1/8 swing A. What’s going wrong is that in the edit window, the setting of snare at 1/8 then becomes the setting for the kick and vice-verse. It’s as if the two tracks are somehow linked and I can’t set parameters specific to one track. How can I achieve separate settings for each different MIDI drum kit please?
hey richard, that's a pretty detailed question that I can't dig into at the moment but you might be interested in joining the cc community: www.charlescleyn.com/courses-bundle

you made it so simple to understand.
Just de-mystified the quantising settings for me. Thanks Charles!!
select notes in lower midi window press Q. pretty easy folks
Thank you so much for this! I have struggled with quantization and I think your explanation will help me a lot. It sure makes more sense to me now.
awesome, thanks Sue
Very helpful. Thank you!
Perfect, very often a presenter will describe & show what to do 👍but forgets to show how to undo if things go wrong 👎
Brilliant , thanks as it seemed a little bit more complex than garage band at first , subbed . 👍

BTW, I’m using Classic Quantize.

Command Z !
1/64 triplet is my favorite
Would be nice to see the quantization end of the notes, avoid overlap, etc.
thanks for the suggestion man
Can only midi files be quantized? Can I quantize voice memos or files I pulled from Spotify to sample in logic?
Yes, you can quantize audio but if it's really 'out of time' then it might not sound great.
