Absolutely awesome video where I was able to picture myself being there and doing what you are doing in that part of the world because in 1975 on my hitch-hiking overland journey from Holland back to Australia I travelled through India and took local transport to Kashmir and stayed on the houseboats on Dal Lake. I remember meeting a traveller (as you do) who had just returned from Leh and his adventures to get there. This video brings that sense of adventure that I had. At 72 I can relive those adventures vicariously through all the travellers out there using current technology to post their travels on the internet. I have had the opportunity to have enjoyed (and endured) many extensive world travels during my life and they certainly provide the greatest memories to reflect upon and think about as I get older. However I am not done yet as Japan, Lake Toba and Vietnam are still on the bucket list. Keep on truckin'! Well done to your great sense of adventure, hats off to you with the greatest respect.
The enchantment of Lahaul Valley, Gabriel, is beyond words! 🏞 Each step unveils a landscape that feels like a painting come to life. It's like wandering through a canvas of vibrant, unspoiled beauty. The tranquility of the valley feels like a whispered secret shared by nature. Your videos are pure travel magic, revealing the soul of these otherworldly places! 🌟🎨
21:52 "Ok im coming down" almost sounded reluctant, like snapping out of the total trip of being up there in this otherwordly land, coming down to the "real" world again.
That was an incredible drive, and walk, in the mountains. I just immediately felt peaceful looking at the view you had when you were up there walking. I can only imagine how it would have felt if it was me walking up there.
Wow Gabriel. You sure lead an incredibly adventurous life. I have trekked Nepal's Himalayas 4 times and I so wish that I was younger and go to so many of these exotic areas. I have travelled the world extensively but there is SO much to see and understand. Love your chanell and have been following you for about 4 yrs.
I searched online, didn't find direct flights from Kullu to Leh. So you would probably have to go to Delhi first or another city. But yes it's possible.
An option would have been to fly down from Delhi to Leh and thereafter go via road(taxi) etc down south to the route you are currently on, this way maybe do the entire circuit? Just a thought ...@@GabrielTravelerVideos
You can get wifi in the Himalayan mtn. range villages.....and my hi speed connection goes out every Sat. in a modern town in a newer state of 5 million.
This Himalayan adventure has been so captivating, a part of the world I have only dreamt of visiting but have now added it to my must go list, as I did with Georgia and the Caucasus mountains which I have just visited. Look forward to you returning and visiting the places you couldn't get to this time.
Wow stunningly beautiful. What a great adventure, Gabriel 🎶🎵🙏🌟🍂🍁I first subscribed to your channel back in 2014 as my son Tom went to Delhi and your videos helped me to understand the world he was inhabiting for a time 🌍 so thanks 😊👍and I've been watching ever since 🍁🍂 and marvelling at places, I will never get to travel to ✨🌟
Another amazing day of exploring, appropriate music too, and that rabbit!!!! As you would say "trippy"......im just so curious about costs of colorful clothes hanging in stalls as you wander the streets......??
Those snow capped mountains are truly stunning!! So very beautiful! Bittersweet moment at 25:40 realizing it’s not meant to be at this time. I think you made the right decision. When the time is right you’ll return, I have no doubts. Fantastic videos and content from this area of the Himalayas. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed watching all the videos. The incredibly beautiful, mystical and magical Himalayas! Thank you.
You got the taste of it. Jispa is similar terrain, just the valley opens up wider. Also you can still go to Kaza, Spiti valley via Shimla side. It all depends, how much time you have. There is a Classic train journey from Chandigarh to Shimla showing 108 tunnels. First get your self blown away by Amazing Golden temple. Well done. Cheers!
What's puzzling? In India, people worship trees, mountains, rivers, stones, animals, and of course deities. Human gods walked through those places so they are worshipped. If you are talking about Budhha, he walked throughout India and adjoining areas, that's why a lot of Asia, South and south east, is Buddhist.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos I arrive tomorrow... I'm at Heathrow airport now to Delhi.. then Delhi to Jaisalmer. Back to Delhi on the buses visiting jodphur Udaipur and the Pushkar camel festival. Day trip to the Tarj Mahal from Delhi at the end so quite a bit to pack in! 😊🤟
Its not like you lucked out with the weather but its just that you visited in the right month and chances are that most days will be clear. Had you visited in Jan/Feb then it would have been the opposite.
I'm so amazed at how our globe trekker TH-camr is able to pump these videos out in such remote areas with little to no internet!! Fantastic!! Nicely done,! 😊
Yes 👍 not like here in Australia when the other day our big internet, mobile provider Optus was out of action for many hours causing chaos everywhere 😳 😅
Please also visit Vyas Valley, Adi Kailash, Om mountain in East Uttrakhand kumoun region.. Mount Kailash Darshan from Lipu lakhe pass India will start from next year..🙏
From Manali you will get plenty of options and places to pick. The Hamta pass is a cool place to visit, it's just up the mountain from Manali, an hour's ride to the top usually charged at Rs2500 , there's snow up there and pristine views of the entire kullu Manali valley as you take the winding road up.
Thank you for this very interesting video! Yo are right - The Indian Himalayas in general is an another world. The accompanying music is very appropriate!
I always find it fascinating where you find buildings of all kinds in amongst mountainous, rough terrain in the middle of nowhere places . It's amazing how mankind can do this without any modern equipment, dangerous roads , technology, highly trained engineers and so on ! These are my favourite videos to watch , never get tired of them 😃 💜 🇦🇺
Thanks, Gabriel. I follow all of your India adventures. It's too bad about your timing, otherwise you could have gone all the way to Leh before the snows come. I really hope you make it back to the mountains in late spring or early fall.
I feel so nourished by these views of the Himalayas, its temples & monasteries, people and food. I look forward to every video from India and do hope you get back to explore Spiti Valley. I had never heard if it but watched some videos about it and it seems very unique. Continued happy travels to you, wherever you go!
Thank you for sharing your adventure experiences,so I can have the Himalayas in my room for a brief moment.Only you can judge how difficult it is sometimes to achieve a goal,,Enjoy !👍
One thing to consider when hiking alone in remote places-what will you do if you just roll an ankle or worse. Who will help you? Local guides are so cheap, can carry part of your load, etc. And you are helping the local economy!!
I'm less confident about the retail food offerings @27:15. Somehow this seems like a specialty I'm not very familiar with. Perhaps more courage is required or a local biome is available somehow? It's not like kimchi, I assume, but is there some lactic acid bacteria involved, I'm wondering? Then, perhaps a precautionary principle applies. 😅
Hi Gabriel, you made a wise decision, there's no telling what will happen. These remote places would be tough if you got stuck there. You would just have to figure out a time of year when to go to avoid the harsh weather. The snow would be one problem and the monsoon season would be the other. I did notice a flying ballon have you ever contemplated flying overhead? That could be an awesome experience, but it could be risky with high winds.
@27:13 MINUTES YOU WALK BY A FOOD BOOTH --IT SAYS ; TASTY AND DIGESTED THEN SOMETHING ABOUT VOMITING ON ANOTHER SIGN.. WHAT WAS THAT MAN SELLING !!?? LOL
Hey Gabriel, If you still wanna go to Spiti valley, you can take a bus to Kullu and then take a bus to Rampur which is in Shimla district. You can take a bus to Reckong Peo and visit the nearby areas such as Kalpa, Roghi etc. and finally take 6 AM bus from Reckong Peo bus stand to Kaza. This route is least affected by weather, roads are much better and there are plenty of transportation option available. P.s. On the first day stay at Rampur as the whole journey from Manali to Reckong Peo can be hectic for a single day as it is nearly 300 kms. You can try this route if it fits your itenrary. Have a great time in India
