    Hetfields voice is the best it's been since the 80's 🤘this is by far the best performance of atlas, rise I've seen

    • @egioch
      @egioch 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      how many performances of Atlas, rise you've seen I wonder

    • @willemzeeman5607
      @willemzeeman5607 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Clarke Tracy is right, before this i saw like 4 or 5 live versions of Atlas, Rise! and James was struggling pretty heavy with the vocals. This version sounded way better.

    • @clarketracey5903
      @clarketracey5903 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      egioch I've seen almost every performance of atlas, rise since the song came out, the mic in this performance is perfect, James voice was very comfortable and steady, this was the most studio sounding performance I've seen of the song so far

    • @clarketracey5903
      @clarketracey5903 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Willem Zeeman yeah, James voice wasn't as good in the other performances, this one was much better

  • @gbates515

    This is the best performance of this song. So damn good

    • @fekicamekicafekicamekica6813
      @fekicamekicafekicamekica6813 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      i don't know why he didn't let his voice for this song in all the other performances. this is how it should sound every fucking time, this is perfect. HUGE PART is that this is the slower performance, which is why it is better in every way. some songs should be played slower live, or in this case, as they were written in tempo...

    • @filipandrejevic1797
      @filipandrejevic1797 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      'Cause he is 53 and during long shows he gets tired. Metallica songs are very tiring to sing, especially the early ones.

    • @jorgeretamal8106

      Fekica Mekica Fekica Mekica he's using the same mic he uses in the studio. At stadiums, he uses another one. And it's even more physically challenging during big gigs

    • @H4I2I2EE
      @H4I2I2EE 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah I was noticing something different about this performance too. I believe it's cuz they are feeling it and not just going through the motions. I could even tell in Kirks solo. It seems more on point than usual.

      RickGrimes41 This album is so great the way it is,it's awesomeness would be too hard to bear if James had his Seattle '89 voice.

    • @deadpool102192
      @deadpool102192 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      RickGrimes41 Metallica fans need to get over James voice and the rest of the band when they do something reminiscent to the 80s, it's never ever going to sound like the 80's, ever the voice is gone. Makes the lot of you sound like a hopeful ex girlfriend who's boyfriend left them 5 years ago yet they still hold on to that hope, It's never gonna happen, and those glimpses of his voice from the '80's not even close to what he used to be capable of. Sorry for the rant but for years whenever James hits a high not or lars does a fill that he doesn't usually do everyone's like ermagerd James is back, lol no he's not.

    Lars has really improved and proved a lot of people wrong about him as a drummer i hope.

    • @thomdotexe
      @thomdotexe 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Lars is and has always been recognised as one of the best drummers in rock of all time... Metal hipsters just think his style isn't complex or "metal" enough, it's like when people say Ringo was a "bad" drummer but actuall drummers consider him to be one of the best of all time.

    • @generalshamic4777
      @generalshamic4777 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      He isn't the best drummer in in rock. He isn't bad but he is far from the best. I like his drumming though

    These BBC sessions sound better than the album! I much prefer Hetfield's vocals set back in the mix like this. All their 80's albums had James kinda struggling to be heard (but in a good way!)

    Poor James, his voice is ripped and tired. This song is to bigger for him and he cannot deal with it's higher notes?. Don't know, hope is ok.
