Older diesels can. I've got a old diesel campervan and my uncle has a hilux and I had a old lucida and all are pure cooking oil. Nothing else. Stick it in something newer and it ruins them 😂

All of those unidentified white hoses leading off into ??? and this episode never shows a walk-through or a view that covers the entire operation. Let me ask the stupid question of the year, how do you know if the diesel you're making has enough lubricate in it? Ultra low sulfur diesel has less lubricate than regular diesel. I guess what I'm saying, is there a way to see how much lubricate is in the diesel or ALL diesel fuels have the same amount of lubricant except ultra low diesel? I guess you know by now I don't know nothing about diesel fuel but because of videos like yours I went out and bought me a diesel truck. I wanna start making my own diesel one day soon. Hi to be sure that the resulting fuel is good enough, I always perform a simple copper strip test, plus always adding diesel conditioner and the two-stroke oil, thus I am sure that the fuel has all the lubrication qualities, correct cetane number, and not corrosive. Moreover, I am treating the fuel prior to the use with absorbents to eliminate any tar and polymers.

Obviously 2 different peaces of equipment but hopefully I can succeed in producing such fuels and at the same time use most of my waste. My campervan /rv currently runs on vegetable oil but would be great if I could produce my own rather than having to go to the shops all the time :)

the metoxide will not react with straight engine oil, you still need to distill it first, the machine uses 4kw per hour, makes about 12L of distillate per hour, the pup diesel cost is $2.20 per liter in our region, the electricity is $0.18 per kw, thus $0.74 per 12L of fuel, at the pump will be $26.40.

yes it is a fuel pump, you can use` a gear pump, but then you'll need to organize a bypass to prevent over-pressure, with this pump it is easier to control the flow.

I think cracking heavier hydrocarbons and distilling would be best, as that would be the closest to an actual oil refinery, with the least amount of plastic impurities. I ask around and the main guy told me to do pyrolysis oil from cooking oil is a huge fail because you only get .5 liter of the pyrolysis oil . So all that used cooking oil is worthless , just stick to diesel from the used cooking oil if anything.
settle with some absorbent for three days, you can use a wood pellets, so the polymers will settle over the time, the fuel will become clear an then you can use it either as a fuel or as a base for lubricants production - from oils to grease and polishing/grinding pastes with some additives.

Never done it myself but apparently you can start a diesel on normal diesel (obviously) and then switch to a different tank with mix of diesel and vegetable or engine oil once the engine is warmed up. I have a book somewhere that explains all of it including how to filter or centerfuge the oil prior to use
the waste oi is mixture of a base oil that really clean diesel like substance and additives plus carbon and other byproducts of engine's work. Just think about the waste oil as a crude oil that can be processed and reused in one form or another.

Sure, but what about the lithium and sodium based additives that make oil viscous? You may have a double fuel tank system to switch between before shutting an engine down, also what about possible coolant contamination? Are you sure about the waste oil quality to feed your engine directly, common-rail? Generally all those filtration/centrifuge/mixing arrangements are also complicated. So both methods are having right to coexist, and it is up to an individual to adopt either of those methods.
If you need an explanation as to what is happening &/or how this works ... You have zero business messing with what is going on in his video !!! Distillation of fuels requires intimate knowledge of distillation and of individual distillation apparatuses !!! Potentially deadly processes ! There is no "set it & forget it" &/or "idiot proof method" ! Guesswork & distillation is like narcolepsy and cruise control ... may take a minute , but something bad is going to happen !

No, it would not remove carbon and oil additives, but will well prepare the oil for distillation.

That waste oil can still be run on the Diesel engine. Just not to much of it @ once tho.
