    Whoever did the costume design was spot on. My brother had those exact board shorts & that hideous bed spread he's got around his shoulders was from Sears. I picked it up at a rummage sale to use as a moving blanket.

    Damn, never saw a movie that made me cry so much. I am carrying my cross now as I had way too much fun back in the 70's.
    "Everything that lives was born to die." Such a truly sad line from a song in the movie that reminded me of my closest friend who passed on a long time ago.
    Bro, I will never forget you and I will see you on the 16th or the 17th like you told me in that dream I had.

    I knew a Penny Lane once. Now I'm old. I've done things the safe way and not really took any chances my whole life and I'm not saying it's even that bad, but, do yourself a favor and follow your dreams. Whatever they may be. Don't look back with regret in your life. Do everything it is you want to do and don't let anything stand in your way.

    • @barbpatch5643
      @barbpatch5643 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Lol, yea, it was such a funny scene but the end there shows what a mess and how much of an asshole Russell could be. And while we don't know much about Dick as a character other than the whole band (except the gay drummer) slept with his ex wife lol...it really seems like he is a very good friend to Russell, when he comes to get him he's ready to lift him and carry him back to the bus like a baby :(. And does the whole showmanship thing to all the Topeka partiers "ladies and gentlemen, the evening is over..." To kind of keep the band's rep intact so they aren't left thinking they just saw the guitarist looking pathetic so fucked up he can hardly walk, but just saw a day in the life of a rock star party God. There's another small scene where it kinda shows the way Dick is under pressure like the whole group even though he's not one of the musicians...he introduces the band on stage before they play "Fever Dog", and after the showmanship again with the introduction, the camera lingers on him for a bit and shows him looking stressed out and taking a deep breath while watching the band from backstage. I love how the film gave so much insight into the lives of the characters with little moments with no dialogue like that.
