Shared the video to some family and friends. Going to check out the website when I finish the video. Thank you guys for all your hard work and dedication to all these babies.
I’m from Grays harbor county. If you all want to be sick, listen to this; it’s not against the law in Washington state, to fail to report your child missing. Jamie is an amazing woman and she should have been able to raise that baby girl
Glad Oakley’s foster parents are still seeking justice for Oakley, they cared more for Oakley than her own biological parents ever would. Imagine choosing drugs over her kids, and then get mad at your child for exposing your drug addiction, and abuse. RIP oakley.
Why can't the state demand the parents produce Oakley like they did to Lori Vallow? If they can't/don't produce her then they should be charged and thrown in jail!
Why? I personally think it is political. DCYF really messed up here. None of those children should have been returned and the social worker didn’t follow protocol and this resulted in an abused and missing child presumed deceased. However, in order to arrest the parents for Oakley’s disappearance, it would set DCYF up for outside investigation and a civil suit. Our DCYF is so dysfunctional. Recently, actually at the beginning of February 2024, (I think)a mother addicted to drugs birthed a child and DCYF stepped in and since reunification and kinship is their ONLY priority (this obviously reduces the costs associated with the removal of a child since foster parents get help caring for children), they gave the newborn baby to the father who also was severely addicted, used someone else’s urine for the test, which the infants mother told the social worker as much while also begging not to send the infant with him. Oh he also lived in a tent in a homeless encampment. IN A TENT! It was winter and they gave the newborns to a known addict that lives in a tent because reunification is so important to DCYF no matter the costs. The drug addict didn’t know what to do with the crying baby when he went to go get a fix, so he left the baby in the bushes to die. I really think this is political.
Thomas Sowell does a good history about when reunification became more important to DCF than child safety. He shows the small boy who was the first victim of failed reunification.
@@kerrygold6494 thank you so much hun, I’ll check that out. My chest gets tight the second I think about this mess. My PT in highschool left working as a cps agent to go back to school to be a physical therapist because he couldn’t handle it anymore.
Agree. In this case going from 0 kids to 4 kids after a history of dcfs involvement is reckless. They should have introduced the kids slower but also the parents were still doing drugs and shouldn’t have gotten the kids back at all.
@@jaj4706 they should never have gotten a single child back. They failed everything. Couldn’t stay clean to pass a single test, couldn’t finish a single course, they quite literally did NONE of what was required.
How can a child go missing and the parents not be accountable for that? You shouldn't have to have a body. Just the fact that a three-year old is gone and was never reported says volumes.
@@tanyabrown9839that’s exactly how it should be! This makes my blood boil. So they’re basically saying that parents can off their kids and as long as there’s no body they can’t be prosecuted?!?! Wow, way to go America. As if I don’t have enough to say about this country as it is, this just puts the icing on the cake!!!
Too often sweet babies like Oakley get fostered by wonderful, loving people like Jaime Jo & Eric, only to be sent back to the bio parents who don’t even want them!! It’s absolutely awful 😭
Happened to a friend of mine, who was struggling from infertility. Gave a beautiful little boy a loving home, the boys bio family (aunt's, uncle's, Grandma) loved and supported my friend and her husband, trying to adopt this little boy.....the bio Mom was a piece of work, druggie, criminal, abusive...Boys bio family could back that info up. Bio Mom wanted her son back, they ripped the little boy from his foster home/soon to be adoptive forever home and returned him to his scum Mother. 😢
Babies for benefits springs to mind, bio parents don't love or want them , just want what they provide. R.I.P Oakley, know you were loved by your Foster parents ❤
I live one county away and was trying to adopt my great grandson at the time. My son was always safe, loved and cared for, but CPS was constantly at my house, often without notice. They had us in court connstantly. They did exactly NOTHING for this child. It never would have even been investigated if not for the foster parents. Oakley was already dead long before there was ANY investigation. They had enough workers to white glove my house several times a month, but not a thing for this child. In this region, all the CPS comes from Olympia. They got very special treatment. And they were both just crazed and full of hate. CPS workers didn't want to spend 4 hours in traffic to get from Olympia to Oakville and back. It's only a 20 minute drive to my city so I got too much unwarranted attention. It took 3 years to finalize an adoption without abuse and both parents voluntarily giving up custody. Something ain't right about that.
My youngest son is 15 and has been in foster care since he was 5 months old. His father and I see him regularly, and have a great relationship with his foster family, who treats as members of their family. When my son turned 14, we were meant to have him back, which we would've loved, but decided that he would stay where he was. He is what is most important, and we know he would've hated leaving his friends and family. We love our son, and he is what is most important. The judge was surprised at our decision, but also said that it shows just how much we love our boy. We are going up to visit him for Easter ( a 7 hour train ride just to get there), and we have him stay with us at the hotel while we visit, as we have unsupervised visits with him. This is what is best for our son. We love him, and his happiness is THE ONLY THING THAT MATTERS. It's called " Being a responsible parent"!
I don't even know you and your husband but I am SO proud of you both! I'm sure it's difficult sometimes but it shows just how selfless you both are and I'm 'm sure your son will love and respect you both forever.
What sense does it make to take a child from 3 months to 3 years away from the only parents she knows and give her to basically strangers? Dcf is so fucked up man.
I think what’s happening is that prosecutors want to hold out on charging the parents until Oakley’s body is found. It’s hard to prove beyond reasonable doubt that someone is dead and that they were murdered when there’s no body or any other concrete physical evidence (blood was found but it sounds like they couldn’t prove it was Oakley’s), and our legal system’s “double jeopardy” clause means that they couldn’t be tried again for the same crime later on if they were acquitted the first time. So right now investigators are probably waiting for one of the parents to slip up and say something that will help them find more evidence, which will give them a higher likelihood of success in convicting these two monsters.
@@emmett4733 Those parents shouldn't have gotten the child endangerment charges taken off. They can still be charged with murder or manslaughter once the b*dy is found.
It happens all the time. Anyone who abuses a child goes straight to prison. Also CPS workers who look the other way. It makes my blood boil. RIP OAKLEY 🙏🕊️✌️🌻🌻
This judge actually did a great job. Each time the "mother" was jailed, the judge put a high bond so she couldn't get out. Each time the "mother" took a plea deal for reduced time, the judge instead overruled that and gave her the maximum amount of time, along with other stipulations & restrictions. I think the judge went above, and beyond in this case. Especially given what there was to work with. It's not the judges who seek, and dish out charges (or not do so). That's the district attorney, and state prosecutors. As infuriating as it is, justice doesn't always happen as fast as we like, and often times the detectives, and the DA are working quietly behind the scenes to gather enough evidence to make some serious charges stick. They only have one chance at taking this case to trial, and if these degens were able to get off the hook, there's no do overs. What gives me a little bit of hope that this is what's going on is that the DA seems to have different lesser charges lined up to throw at the "mother" the second she gets released so they can keep her locked up. Hopefully they're keeping surveillance on the father also. All I know is that they better get *justice for Oakley.* And that means holding DCYF & their workers accountable too.
It makes me sick that the case worker had the nerve to tell the Foster mom, that she wasn't the real mom when that's the only mother that baby ever knew 😢
I live a county over from Oakley’s case. My grandpa is actually missing from Grays Harbor County as well (since 1986) and has lived in the same town of Oakville. Everything seemed to get blamed on being a small area and not having the resources. To me it’s BS. I know their hands can be tied, but damn do something. 😢😢😢
That poor child. I can’t imagine how confused she was having to move back into a ‘strangers’ home at almost 3 after living with her foster family for over 2 years. This is freaking insane. The whole social service family system needs a massive overhaul. This is absolutely tragic and 100% preventable. That baby already had a stable home. Biology means nothing it is just that, biology. She was loved where she was. Ffs…. Poor Oakley, you were failed beautiful and I’m so bloody sorry.
That is what most people think, but I can tell you as a foster parent of three children over the years that these kids long for their blood parents no matter how abusive the situation was. My daughter in law was a social worker for over twenty years and honestly, she too was shocked at how loyal the children were to bio parents no matter how amazing the foster home was. The more they are shuffled around the worse it gets too. Not one hundred percent the case, but as a foster parent, teacher and mother-in-law of a social worker I can tell you this is much more complicated than people would dream. We were able to adopt one of our foster daughters. She is now an adult and very loyal to us, but I can tell you that it took YEARS of love, her reacting and pining for her bio mother before any real bonding happened. I honestly don't think she really gave up the dream of reunification with her bio mom until she died from her addiction. Still a troubled adult we will always be here for her, and she is now thankful for us.
Drewby + Yergy, thank you so much for raising awareness about Oakley's case. I wish more big true crime channels cared enough about missing persons cases, but they don't really do a lot of views so I get it. Thank you guys for being compassionate enough to put her case out there in the face of that. You two are some of the best. PLEASE COMMENT AND SHARE THIS VIDEO. MISSING PERSONS CASES OFTEN DO NOT DO WELL ON TH-cam. DON'T LET LITTLE OAKLEY'S STORY GET LOST IN THE NOISE!
I just cannot understand if you are struggling with the children you already have, why on earth would you continue having children. See this again & again. Unbelievably irresponsible & ultimately tragic.
Especially in this day and age and the excellent products available to stop pregnancy. They should think themselves lucky. My mother told me she would not have had any of us lot, meaning her five children, if she had the pill back then.
@@User-m1w5lexactly! Well said. In this case, for gambling money as well. These people will always be incentivized to have children for an easy and steady paychecks despite all the free and unlimited birth controls you throw at them.
It's absolute trash to do that. I know a couple from my past that had that happen. They divorced, govt' got their kids and they BOTH went and had more children with other people🫨
It’s mind-boggling that parents can be held responsible for medical neglect, but NOT be held accountable for a missing small child who is not reported missing, especially in these kinds of (obvious) “uncertain”, lacking-evidence situations. My god
It’s terrible to hear about people who are supposed to protect their children not doing so when it’s their JOB. Glad to know you guys are doing well, thank you for what you do in raising awareness and donating 🙏🏽
@@Lily-e8z8t this includes parents ! Any guardians or authorities are required to protect children as they are the most vulnerable population and are often treated as property
DCYS dropped the ball again! Its friggen crazy the amount of story's on here were this has happened! What a frigging joke! That whole system is a joke!🤬🤬😵💫😥
Thank you so much for giving little Oakley a voice. She is loved and missed by so many people. People that don't even know her. I've been praying for her and her siblings and hoping that she is found. #JusticeForOakley
We need to stop letting addicts get their kids back like this. That poor baby would have been fine if they had let her be adopted… I can’t imagine how much that must hurt her foster parents. My parents were in a similar situation adopting me and my sibling but thankfully the court wasn’t dumb enough to give us back to drug users and we were able to grow up. I wish this girl had gotten the same chance. My mom has admitted they would have just kidnapped us if the adoption didn’t go through and I’m on her side about it
If addicts could never get their kids back, that’s be a lot of parent-less children and broken homes… Some addicts do go into recovery and make wonderful, sober parents. The trick is recognizing the signs of active use and acting on it when you see it. Active drug addiction isn’t easy to hide.
@@CeeBee781 yeah well, make sure they’re actually completely sober first before they see a hair of that kid and test them often until the kid is 18 then.
@@CeeBee781 yeah I think recovered addicts can be very good parents. I’ve seen evidence that supports this. The real issue is that there is no mental health care available to the people who most need it in the USA. This is why you see recovery statistics being much higher elsewhere
No, not addicts, abusive people! Not all addicts are abusive parents. I promise. Eta: I'm sorry you went through this. I'm a former foster kid of recovering addicts. My parents won us back and deservedly so. They were addicts and high like birds but they loved and took good care of us. And are now 24 years sober.
I wouldn’t say just addicts. I have friends that have had drug problems, but loved and cared for their kids as good as these foster parents did. It’s the pysco, abuser that are just low life’s like these pieces of garbage were that should be in prison. I can understand people that have grown up in good homes and have never once been around drugs, thinking anyone who does them becomes a criminal or monster, but that is hardly the case. Their is a lot of good hearted people out there that grew up poor and just happened to have drug problems as well
This has to be one of the most infuriating cases I’ve ever heard. Poor Oakley, and her foster parents who truly wanted her as their daughter. Just tragic and heartbreaking 💔
I have been raising my Oaklee. She's 3 how, brown hair and blue eyes, smart & tiny. My daughter never "bonded" with her. Her life is saved . Rest in peace baby girl.
This breaks my heart, as do all of these stories. I adopted my grandson because his mother, my daughter isn't stable and a drug addict. You do what's right for the kids, always!
Thank God she had two amazing people that truly loved her as if she were their own. She may have never experienced what that felt like if it wasn't for those lovely souls.
This reminds me of why a friend of mine considered becoming a social worker but in the end refused because he found it too depressing. Imagine a bin with a thousand cases and you get to pick 15 of them and ignore the rest.
Horrible grandma didn’t report abuse because she would not have been able to see her Grandkids yet admits that a whole year went by since she last saw Oakley.
As always, thank you Yergy and Drewby for sharing this little ones story. It always breaks my heart hearing these stories, but i *HAVE* to listen, they deserve to be heard. I truly hope those who are a part of Oakley's life and loved her are able to find some healing and answers.
As a pre-k teacher I've had many foster babies and it's gut wrenching when dcs rips these children away from people that genuinely love them and give them back to the egg & sperm donor's. Oakley deserved so much more in this life than she was given. My prayers are that she's found and given a proper burial.
yup. given right back after the parents have made absolutely no progress. never completing classes, never passing drug tests, never getting counseling. Nothing changes and if anything the parents become even more abusive once the child is returned because they resent them for "leaving" (ie being placed in foster care) its sick, really.
Yup...had a neighbor who was a reunification case and former addiction and had current drug user in home. Kid would get out randomly and we would take him home (toddler). Cops called a couple of times nothing done..it was always I was trying to get her evicted (even when someone else called). Druggie caught some jail time so it was quiet finally...only lasted a few weeks...she started screaming at poor kiddo that she would do him harm ..throw him out window (2 story townhouse above single level apt). We heard this because she yelled from 3rd floor. There were others like stabbing in stomach, breaking his arm. All sorts of threats. We had 2 mandatory reporters in building ..they plus several others called...nada zip . Not even a visit....everyone has cameras. Told by a specific cop, he's clean and so is house. My response having been through very similar abuse was so was mine....means nothing except she's learned to manipulate system. Same agencies in Oakley's case almost since we are one county over. DCS sucked 40 years ago and still sucks. We didn't even bother to call on the next neighbor we got with a similar background..reunification, homeless, and possible drug use (unclear but there were some signs). At the very least baby daddy was in jail for a string of local arsons and from things she said it's highly likely one if not both were on drugs
May she rest in peace and justice is served in her honor soon as we know she's gone 😢😢And thank you to the faster family for all they are doing to help the sweet child!
This poor baby...god i wish when foster parents like hers try to adopt kids they have had their whole lives they were given WAY more consideration. If thos baby had just stayed in their care shed be a happy healthy kindergardner today. Absoluty devestating
My parents adopted me and my sibling out of a very similar situation. Thankfully the court didn’t somehow think our druggie bios deserved us back. Reunification shouldn’t be the top goal for people like that
To create a monster for a child as a part of a lie and leave the responsibility for others to tell those children that their parents are the monsters is an extra level of evil. I can't imagine being a little kid and thinking my sibling was eaten by a wolf. That's scary stuff for a kid. That alone is traumatic. But to then have to eventually find out that the real monsters are people, especially your parents, is something I hate to imagine anyone of any age having to unpack.
My heart is breaking 💔 more and more hearing how these evil people treat the most precious and vulnerable people in our communities... Sweet Oakley I pray for peace in your precious little heart and soul I pray that you know how loved you are and you're not hurting anymore from the monsters.
The book got me because I read that to my daughter and it gets me every single time. That one plus “love you forever” and “on the night you were born”. I don’t understand people like these parents. And I don’t understand “workers” who don’t care and just expect children to adjust. Children are resilient yes, but why do they need to be if we can help it?
Such a gorgeous little girl, these poor kids that suffer so badly deserve so much better, it always seems like every person and service involved always let these kids down and fail so much to protect them 😢
yes family courts need to stop giving any unsupervised visits or custody to parents with drug, abuse, or sex charges. kids should have more rights than criminals. 500 kids per year is 500 too many
6:29 they can’t even act right and keep it together for one single night?? 7:55 to stop doing visits during the pandemic when that’s probably one of the times that visits should be done even more… even “normal” people struggled through that. Let alone people like this that can’t even keep it together for a single night before the pandemic! And I know the point was to not spread covid, but in my opinion, covid was the LEAST of concern here. 9:17 this is something that drives me insane. Especially cause it happens so frequently. The “parents” stop allowing family members, grandparents, friends to see or care for the child or children. Then when something tragic happens, they try to claim they were overwhelmed and just snapped and lost it. But that’s contradictory in itself! If you were so overwhelmed, why would you deny help from people who really do love and care for the child. Even for parents where it’s clear they just don’t want the “burden” or responsibility of caring for a child, but yet they go to great lengths to torture and hurt them. Like just give the child to someone else! PLEASE 🙏 12:07 WHAT!?!?? ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?!? They stayed there, ok. But with the kids!?!! Wtf 12:57 they always had an explanation? No, they always had an excuse. 24:15 my heart really goes out to these two foster parents. THEY were her real parents. ❤💔
My first comment to any true crime shows i watch. You two are fantastic. Thorough, thoughtful to the victims and their loved ones, and OBVIOUSLY animal lovers. I love when the cats come in. It's a small bit of levity in the middle of a horrible tragedy. My new favorite channel!
My son loooooooves Barbara Ann! He first heard it when he was about 18 months old and didn't stop singing it til he was 6 and started becoming self-conscious.
I hope they can find her alive and healthy and bring her home to the family that loves and care and gave her a beautiful home where she will always be loved. Blessings Be.
You two are so incredible! Thank you for all that you do to bring these dark stories to light. Children like Oakley were absolutely robbed of their chance to experience everything we do on this Earth. I sadly do not feel she is missing, I’m afraid she will not be found alive. So gut wrenching, heartbreaking and SO frustrating.
What a beautiful baby! I would have taken her in a heartbeat. If your child is too much for you, take them to a safe place and give them up!! This baby looks so much like my babies it crushes me looking at her. There are good people out there that would have cared for her and loved her. No excuse for hurting this beautiful little soul 💔
There is something truly wrong with our system and I'm not sure how we fix it. I have a friend who loved and cared for his daughter but her mother let someone beat and torture the little girl. She was put in the system and both parents were investigated. My friend, who had reported all the injuries and got his daughter medical aid, did everything the court asked of him but lost custody. Her foster family adopted her before the case was even finished in the courts. Years later this friend discovered that the foster family that adopted his daughter were now facing abuse charges, for not only harming his child but allowing one of their other adopted children to SA her, she was five. Our friend thought he had a chance to get his daughter back, he had done what the court said, had a good job and house, people to help care for his daughter but they said no and put her back into the system, we haven't heard anything about her in the ten years since, she just disappeared. All the time I hear cases of case workers not stepping in when they should and kids ending up missing or worse. I really wonder how many children "disappeared" during COVID because oversight was suspended and offices shut down. I have multiple family members who worked in the state system for decades, I know it isn't an easy job. I grew up listening to all the horror stories, both of what happened to kids and the lack of ability for workers to help. There are no easy answers to this and every time I have seen measures past that might help they are shot down before they can be of service, usually under the guise of "For the wellbeing of the children." I don't cry often when I listen to these cases because I grew up hearing worse but this one struck something deep. Thank you for the work that you guys do in reporting these stories, hopefully someday, it will help somewhere or someone.
This was the most devastating case! I live right down the road from here, been praying everyday she is found & safe!! 🙏💗 Thank you for covering this! I grew up around Jordan, she's always been like this! & CPS around here is shit!
My heart breaks for this little girl and also for her foster family, she deserved parents who loved her. while so many kids end up with bad foster parents Oakley was lucky enough to find good people who cared about her, they are her parents, and having her taken away and given to strangers is a crime by itself.
If the social workers would have done their job and gave one crap about children then this would not have happened! They need to be held accountable!!!
If those parents don't seek help for their addiction issues , which in Jordans case includes gambling , they will continue their lifestyle of lying , stealing and abusing those in a position of dependence on them . And ... why NOT a " no body " murder charge ? I understand it's a more difficult case to prosecute BUT it IS POSSIBLE . Such a sad story . Two people who should NEVER HAVE HAD CHILDREN !!!!
I hope they find her soon. Her poor foster parents should have been able to keep her safe with them. What a tragedy! My heart goes out to Jamie Jo and her husband. ❤
Thank you both for all the hard work you do to tell these children's stories. They are so hard to hear, but even harder to talk about, I'm sure. I love the way you just stick to the facts. Without a bunch of chatter, which seems to be a rarity anymore. And for the genuine concerns for the victims in the cases.
😢 I live in the same vicinity and have been surrounded by posters and billboards for this little one. So sad to hear about what was done to her, but hopefully the people involved in her life will get some closure.
Hard not to feel the anger and anguish of the Foster family..... Hard to not imagine the life Oakly might have enjoyed had her own parents not been so selfish?.....❤
This infuriates me. Dcyf wonders why they never have enough good people willing to become Foster parents. Well, this is why... How many times, in how many stories, do we hear the same type of BS... Child gets removed from abusive/addicted/unfit parents, gets placed with wonderful loving people where child then begins to thrive, and then, just when that child and those Foster parents start to feel like this just might be forever, suddenly their whole world is ripped out from underneath them, when that child is suddenly removed from their care, and sent back to be "reunified" with their biological parents. Ugh. I can't. This just makes me so mad! 😡
I don't understand how people work to get their children back if they don't want them, foster parents or anyone would have taken care of her or any child. I agree with family reunification but her 'parents ' weren't her family 😢
I think some cases are ego related, and some are financial. I'm sure there are many parents who are in denial and legitimately think that they'll do better, but the most horrible thought I have is that they just want control of these kids so that they can continue to abuse them.
I believe the only reason they want the kids at all is for the benefits like medical insurance, food stamps ,cash assistance, housing assistance, ect . DCF is a joke . Oakley should have stayed with her foster parents & been adopted by them .
We live right by the Carlson home. It’s quite literally surrounded by department of natural resources forest lands. Impossible to find anything out there. Brush, trees. So sad.
So true. There have been cases were the caregivers (if you can call them that) get charged and convicted when their "missing" children are never recovered. Famous cases of this are Harmony Montgomery and Classic and Cincere Pettis. CPS really messed up with these children too but at least Adam Montgomery and Jaqueline and Terzel West will be spending the rest of their miserable lives in jail. The same should go for these horrible parents.
I hope y’all are taking care of yourselves, pls take a break if needed.. after watching your videos for the past year I can tell he is starting to lose his light when he speaks. WE LOVE YALL!!!!
Why does this keep happening over and over and over again? The keep giving these children back to these monsters after they've been worn by other people who actually know them. Also this is exhausting all preventable murders. These people don't even want them. Why do they fight to get them back
Thank you for telling her story. I'm also from Grays Harbor. Oakley's story is one of too many that we are all hoping is resolved. I'd love if you also told Lindsey Baum's story if you haven't yet done so.
There are still missing posters for Oakley in one of the clinics I go to and in most of the stores in my area. I'm in Olympia, WA. So not far at all. I remember when this all hit the news. So sad.
This happened near where I live. There are still posters and signs throughout the area with her face. The organizations did a great job getting her face and story out there. I tear up every time I drive through the area. I hope they find her.
So heartbreaking. Sending love and prayers to her sweet family. It breaks my heart her favorite book I’ve loved since always. She just wanted her mommy to love her
The pain that we feel out here for these precious souls is the same pain I see in your eyes and hear in your voice young lady. My hopes are you know that some of us are carrying that load with you. We are mourning with you. And we are hoping with you. Let that lighten your load going forward, k?
Inexcusable MONSTERS 🤬This is sad and horrifying 💔Side note: Getting a big gambling win (especially early on in your gambling journey) REALLY messes with an addiction-susceptible brain. You will seek out that feeling forever & it may not ever go away without intensive counseling.
this is so devastating...some people should never have children while there are genuine people out there that would love these children...it is so sad to say but the system is truly broken

Hey beautiful souls, thank you for all the work you do for these children ❤
Why do CPS give kids back to parents that are not stable and remove and keep kids away from parents who actually do care? This is devastating.
Kids from good families don't have the issues that those who have been constantly abused, do, so they are easier to adopt out. It's all about money.
Because CPS doesn't care, nor does CAS
Same here in leeds england..... it's actually a PLC company is leeds social services ... public limited company....
they do NOT CARE! about lesser people, and that is what they consider our children mainly because of the parents, thus their children.
B/c the CPS services are broken in EVERY STATE!
An overhaul is long overdue along with better funding! 😢😢😢

Because dad is an ex cop and dcyf is a total joke
She stole 40,000$ and the kids still didn’t have car seats or new clothes disgusting they probably smoked it all up
Meth and gambling go hand in hand
The kids didn't get to eat either, but the slot machines sure as hell did.
So did their dealer.
@@tylerchapman9234 I think we were thinking the same thing at the same time.
It sounds like it’s time to change the purpose of CPS from REUNIFICATION, to THE ACTUAL SAFETY OF CHILDREN.
they only wanna reunify the kids they can't SELL OFF.
In my country Australia people have been jailed for missing children and they do not let them back out if they don't share where the child or body is.
@@tanyabrown9839that’s exactly how it should be! This makes my blood boil. So they’re basically saying that parents can off their kids and as long as there’s no body they can’t be prosecuted?!?! Too often sweet babies like Oakley get fostered by wonderful, loving people like Jaime Jo & Eric, only to be sent back to the bio parents who don’t even want them!! It’s absolutely awful 😭
And yet many people still think reunification should always be the goal…
“Always” is not the answer. There should be checks and controls .. in this case they forgot to check if the parents still did drugs smh
@@stephaniehoran I can’t even imagine how that must’ve crushed the hearts all 3 of them!
Sounds like an extremely difficult decision to have made at the time. You did what was best for your son and family. Wishing you the best good luck ❤️
Why is he in somebody's care in the first if you're really a good parent?
@@trashsuigeneristhat part
You guys aren’t responsible parents at all. Stop fooling yourselves. If you were he wouldn’t be in someone else’s care to begin with.
What sense does it make to take a child from 3 months to 3 years away from the only parents she knows and give her to basically strangers? Dcf is so fucked up man.
They murdered her. Are you out of your mind?
@CHUTUP her biological kids killed her not the foster parents who she grew up with
Sorry misunderstood your comment 🤦🏼♀️
Totally useless, they should act in the best interest of the child!💙
@CHUTUP I'm sorry I ment to say biological parents not kids 🙄
How can they not be charged for a missing child? The child is MISSING! Do the police just say, "Oh well". Unreal.
Exactly, where the F can a child go?
@@emmett4733 Those parents shouldn't have gotten the child endangerment charges taken off. They can still be charged with murder or manslaughter once the b*dy is found.
These social workers need to be jailed with same charges & the current judges need to be charged for giving little time and not doing a damn thing
All I know is that they better get *justice for Oakley.*
And that means holding DCYF & their workers accountable too.
PPL should get a petition to remove that judge before she does more damage
I appreciate how this channel not only focuses on the victims, but also highlights any agencies at fault for mishandling the victims' cases.
It makes me sick that the case worker had the nerve to tell the Foster mom, that she wasn't the real mom when that's the only mother that baby ever knew 😢
It’s when you hope karma is real
The common thread for me is CPS. Until they are held responsible for their lack of action. In the job their paid to do is unacceptable.
Drewby + Yergy, thank you so much for raising awareness about Oakley's case. These agencies should also be charged with neglect, abandonment, and child endangerment. That’s literally all they do. Allow children to be harmed.

@druidic4353too bad your roe vs wade was so flippantly overturned.
It’s mind-boggling that parents can be held responsible for medical neglect, but NOT be held accountable for a missing small child who is not reported missing, especially in these kinds of (obvious) “uncertain”, lacking-evidence situations. My god
How does credit card fraud/ identity theft = 32 months in prison and child neglect and not knowing where your child is = 12 months in jail.
It's indefensible!

Exactly! SMH?!!
Thank you for covering Oakley's story. Her home was not far from mine and we still have banners of her everywhere. 😞💜
I’ve noticed that in most of these cases, the children are removed from these homes and then given right back..
Yet children who should have never been removed are trafficked into foster care and those families are torn apart.
yup. given right back after the parents have made absolutely no progress. never completing classes, never passing drug tests, never getting counseling.
These agencies are pure evil with what all they do to children including sales.
Reunification shouldn’t be the top goal for people like that
One day, Oaklees siblings will be old enough to tell people what happened to her, if they remember.
Terrifying
They were probably cooking up meth!! That’s more than likely why the house caught on fire!
PLEASE 🙏
12:07 WHAT!?!?? ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?!?
They stayed there, ok. But with the kids!?!! Wtf
12:57 they always had an explanation? No, they always had an excuse.
24:15 my heart really goes out to these two foster parents. THEY were her real parents. ❤💔

Thank you for covering this case. Poor Oakley weighs heavy on my heart as she does everyone that lives in western wash
Oakley is a case that haunts me! Y’all outdid yourselves in this one! Great job!
CPS is just as responsible!! They should face charges..
This was the most devastating case! I live right down the road from here, been praying everyday she is found & safe!! 🙏💗 Thank you for covering this!
I grew up around Jordan, she's always been like this! & CPS around here is shit!
This is hitting on an issue I’ve been having for a while. Ashley generally lets the cops off easy. It is unbelievably frustrating.
It seems like any social worker who dismisses a caregiver's concerns where a child is subsequently abused should be prosecuted.
We have a case eerily similar in Michigan we refer to as the Baby Kate Case. It’s been almost 15 years and Kate has never been found.
❤ you both are amazing at telling All Children stories. Thank you Always Donna Barnes ❤
Lets me make this plan & clear CPS DONT GIVE A DAMN ABOUT THE KIDS😢 Rest in peace Sweet Angel
I was supervised more for a simple possession charge than these people were for their children. 🤦🏻♀️
😢 I live in the same vicinity and have been surrounded by posters and billboards for this little one. So sad to hear about what was done to her, but hopefully the people involved in her life will get some closure.
Thanks for giving the children voices. You all do an amazing job.
It is heart touching to listen to such deeply caring parents advocating for help and justice for all children.❤
I thought that they didn't complete prerequisites for getting Oakley back?
We live right by the Carlson home. It’s quite literally surrounded by department of natural resources forest lands. Impossible to find anything out there. Brush, trees. So sad.
I love the way yall tell the stories and you can tell that yall truly care about the victims and there families
Not only did I rock the boat, I got full custody.
The law needs changing, if u have a child that you can’t account for & is “missing” they should be held till the child is found, it’s ridiculous!!!!
Why do they fight to get them back
You guys have the best crime stories I always watch this channel they talk about things we don't really hear about
Thank you for telling her story. I'm also from Grays Harbor. Oakley's story is one of too many that we are all hoping is resolved. I'd love if you also told Lindsey Baum's story if you haven't yet done so.
I hope every DHS worker from this case that did that little girl dis-justice got fired and jail time for failing her so badly
My heart breaks for little gorgeous Oakley! I hope to god she’s not suffering anymore ❤❤❤
What I will never understand is why these “people” keep having children?
RIP Oakley, so sorry you didn't get the love you deserved ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ RIP little Angel
There are still missing posters for Oakley in one of the clinics I go to and in most of the stores in my area. I'm in Olympia, WA. So not far at all. I remember when this all hit the news. So sad.
Thank you for covering the Oakley Carlson case it’s local to my area
This happened near where I live. There are still posters and signs throughout the area with her face. The organizations did a great job getting her face and story out there. I tear up every time I drive through the area. I hope they find her.
They both SHOULD BE IN JAIL FOR LIFE.
Omg I get you, Coffeehouse Crime AND ThatChapter all in one day, I'm so happy
So heartbreaking. Sending love and prayers to her sweet family. It breaks my heart her favorite book I’ve loved since always. She just wanted her mommy to love her
The pain that we feel out here for these precious souls is the same pain I see in your eyes and hear in your voice young lady. My hopes are you know that some of us are carrying that load with you. We are mourning with you. And we are hoping with you. Let that lighten your load going forward, k?
Thank you so much for covering this case. I had requested this case and am really happy to see it getting more attention
Yergy I`am loving your hair pulled back it shows your pretty eyes, Thank you both for this informational report. Have a a great day ya`all.
God speed Oakley prayers of comfort for the foster parents
'authorities' do not give children back to abusive parents by accident. It's on purpose. The question is about their motives.
