    Great review mate. I'm still using the v1 and I love the shoes. I have 2 pairs actually. I will try v2 soon and let's see what happens. Many thanks.

      Word of caution: I’ve got about 40 miles (65k) in the v2 and the foam is much much softer. So the ride is unstable although the energy return is greater. It’s faster but not as stable. I think I might prefer v1 - but ultimately will decide once I get to 100 miles in v2. Might want to wait on v2

      I did a video that I linked at the end of this one comparing speed 3, Novablast 3 and Rebel v3. I just bought a 2nd pair of rebel v3 for 60 dollars on Joes new balance warehouse something or other. The first pair I got for $83 at running warehouse. I would look for a discounted Rebel first. It is a great compliment to sc trainer- light, lower stack, still juicy fuel cell foam. I like to alternate different stack heights and drops for my weak calves 😂

    V1 is so comfortable i use them as casual wear.wonder how v2 foam compare to v1

    • @MidLifeRunner
      @MidLifeRunner  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s still a great foam. I use v1 to walk in as well. However, v2 feels different since the heel is lower, the drop is more shallow and there is slightly less ground contact in the forefoot- more bouncy up front than v1. And while v2 is more nimble and peppy overall with the same great foam, I prefer v1 for casual wear protection of feet (prefer v2 for looks )

    Thanks for the early review, it seems that the v2 is a nice upgrade, at least for me. I have had my issues with v1's upper, mainly the fit with heel slipping, even when I tighten it a lot, the more conventional upper is more to my liking.
    Having said that, I am now at 365km (226mi) in the v1 and no matter what, I am going to get my money's worth.

    Subscribed and liked! Love you video's, glad I found your channel! Do you wear the same size in the SC trainer V1 as you do in your Rebel V3? Love my Rebels but the SC trainer is on sale and would complement well!

    • @MidLifeRunner
      @MidLifeRunner  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Brian! Thanks for the like & sub. The drop tomorrow is a fun one. That's a great question - for the Rebel V3 I wear a size 9.5 (US) and for the SC Trainer, I wear my normal size 9 (also still US). They both fit perfect at these different sizes and it has mostly to do with the Rebel V3 being a little snug up front. They expanded the toe box on the width, which I like, but the length is still tight in my humble opinion

    Hey I wanted your suggestion/help choosing a shoe. I am flat footed and my feet are wide. I want a pretty durable, comfortable and a shoe which I can have some fast sessions sometimes, mostly I want to run 5Ks and long run kinda stuff in a controlled pace. I want the shoes to last me attest 2-3 years.
    I have listed 3 of them and could you help me select the best suited for me.
    1) RC Elite v2 - £100
    2) SuperComp Trainer V1 - £100
    3) SuperComp Trainer V2 - £105
    Please help me figure out before they go out of stock.

    • @MidLifeRunner
      @MidLifeRunner  ปีที่แล้ว

      RC Elite v2, I have not run in but v1 and v3 were pretty narrow so I worry it won’t accommodate the wide feet. But I think it’s soft enough and fast enough for long runs and faster work. My #1 recommendation is the sc trainer 1 for durability. It’s more stable than 2. It will last you a long time. I’m near 350 miles in mine and will take it at least 600-700. It’s great for long runs. It’s a bit heavy for 5k but has awesome energy return at that pace. Shorter intervals work better than longer intervals.

    • @the1curveball
      @the1curveball ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MidLifeRunner yes thank you for the recommendation brother.
      I have ordered both SuperComp trainers v1 and v2.
      Today I have received the v2 since I had already ordered them to try them on and I loved it, since this is my first super shoe.
      I can’t wait until I get the v1 to try them
      on and compare them to the v2.

    The version 1 gave me plantar fasciitis. Guess I'm gonna skip version 2 as I notice the rocker seems steep as v1. I mean the curve starts to roll too early at the midfoot. Great shoe but not for me.

    I use Pegasus 40 for daily, Mach 5 for cushion and Vivobarefoots to build muscle. Think this would fit in my shoe rotation?

    • @MidLifeRunner
      @MidLifeRunner  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s most similar to the Mach but heavier. I can see it in this rotation as a long run shoe unless you’re legs are strong enough that you use Mach for long runs. I guess it would also depend what distances you like to run. If you’re more of a 5k-10k runner, I’d look for a snappier light weight racer like the Takumi sen. To be honest, This shoe is also 180 and sc elite v3 is on sale for 140. The sc elite can do everything this shoe can do but also is more lightweight and faster.

      @collinhayes9509 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MidLifeRunner appreciate the response. I’m missing part of my meniscus from an injury so knee pain is inevitable, but I’m hoping the SC trainer can help with load or stress on my knee.
      I’d try those other two options but neither come in a wide sadly, which is why the SC trainer is appealing. I also have the Fuelcell Pacer on the way, I think I’ll enjoy it as I’m used to running in barefoot shoes already.
      I’ve also tried and liked the Kinvara 14. It didn’t seem to have a solid place when I have the Mach 4/Pegasus though
