She would be more of a beast if WG had designed her armor scheme as built as opposed to putting in the paper cheeks she has in the game. The ship took more damage than any other in the war before going down, but in the game, a few shots to her cheeks and she's done. Sad
@@trenlass809 I didn't say "that took the longest to sink". @@swordmonkey6635 it isn't the number of hits that counts its the placement of hits and specific-point severity of damage so arguments over stuff like that are gonna need a whole lot more specific information to be anything more than useless shouting matches, for example the Yamato was almost certainly considerably more durable than the half-it's-size nevada but one of those two ships was still afloat after taking multiple nukes followed by multiple _days_ of bombardment and it wasn't the giant 50000 ton battleship. huh: I always thought that they were intentionally aiming above the waterline on the Nevada and basically seeing how much they could do without sinking it while testing various shells/etc but nothing in a quick lookup actually says anything like that so that part is probably entirely in my head...probably _correct_ but still probably just an assumption that got adopted without context in my long term memory.
@@evernewb2073 The qualifiers to my statement remain the same two facts: Yamato was the heaviest armored battleship in WW2 (or history). That's not reflected in the game. Both Yamato class battleships individually absorbed more combat damage during the war than any other warship before their respective sinkings. Naval combat in WW2 was very imprecise, but the USN plan for Yamato was to concentrate the attack on one side of the ship to overwhelm the counter-flooding system. They accomplished this and the yawing list allowed a torpedo to strike Yamato's exposed weaker lower hull. That caused damage and fire that would cause her B magazine to explode. Musashi required more torpedo and bomb hits because the attack was on both sides of the ship. A hit to the forward section caused the bow to flood, slowing the ship and eventually causing her to submerge and then detonate underwater. Both Yamato and Musashi required more actual hits on target (torps and bombs) to sink than any other warship during the war. It wasn't designed to destroy a fleet, but to show the ramifications of a blast on nearby ships and crews. I love the camos since they're such simple designs. Most of the in game camo's are essentially variations on the fundamentals of dazzle camos. Loud, confusing, asymmetrical, etc. The HSF camos are clean and simple. It just sucks that they get sold for so much. I think last time the HSF Yamato camo was available, it was like $40, total cash grab. In any case, I wish we had a lot more camo options that were minimal and clean.
Respect your talent in the game cannot be denied, but having little commentary and just seeing you slap with the yammy was some epic content IMO. Yamato is a very good ship. Guns are very accurate, but this requires more skill of the player. You're missing easier at range due to better Sigma (you either miss all or hit hard). If you can aim well however, this is a beast. You should know also how to optimize the overmatch ability. This was the first T10 I unlocked, and I was very bad in it. Now, after 3000 games in a BB, I started to appreciate this ship a lot more...
Finally unlocked it and realised that I was awful at playing BBs. I’ve gotten two kills with it in 10 games and I only average 50k damage. Idk what’s wrong with me

( stats say that ) anyway this should be wrote out, yesterday was terrible in the game and my thoughts were boiling all night.. game is unbalanced in many ways sadly. i hope sometime they will give bigger punch to yammy ( way to many ships above 14800 alpha damage now ) stronger secondary range to her ( punish he spammer doritos better ) and at least weaken the weak spots effect. getting one shot in the right spot deletes this beast is ridiculous
What's up with the audio in this video? The guns on that boat should cause our speakers to shake when fired. Yet, every shot sounded weaker than a nerf gun. XD
