    This guy is a good sport. has a lot of humility listening to you all shoot holes in his new truck! I like the gen 3s and I’m really curious to see how the 37s from the factory will do on this test course you set up. Keep ‘em coming!

      Yeah, he was great. Gen3 is definitely an improvement over the Gen2. But like when the Live Valves first came out, Ford left a lot on the table again and we wanted to show 1, that Eclick is so much better. 2. Imagine how capable the Gen3 will be with Eclick on it.

    In your videos you are really digging into the details. Keep up with the great work. 💪🏼🤙🏼 I learned a lot about my Raptor so far and pros and cons of certain upgrades only by following you. I also looked into e-click, but will go for the more conservative approach for my Gen2 with new shocks. However, taking current lead times into consideration, SDI is a real option, but only if you do the full program incl.re-valving.

    Awesome video, would be great to see this same video done again with a 24 37 package or R with the dual live valve. I had a 21 Raptor 37 and a 24 R and couldn't believe how much better the susepsnion is on and off road on the 24.

    • @KeepItDirtyOffRoad
      @KeepItDirtyOffRoad  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Dual live valve trucks are performing so good, SDI has not really seen a need to create a tune for them. That’s how good they are.
      I would love to do a comparison between a single valve SDI truck and a dual live valve. But it won’t be at the SDI test track unfortunately. The heavy storms that hit Cali this past year destroyed the track. So once I find 2 guys willing to test, I need a new location.

    • @KeepItDirtyOffRoad
      @KeepItDirtyOffRoad  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Totally agree. Ford left a lot on the table and there is a ton of capability there. Unfortunately the electronics is a completely different architecture on the Gen3. Gen1 and Gen2 shared a lot. gen3 saw some major changes and it will take SDI much longer to develop their system for it. but once they do, those SDI GEN3's are going to be very capable.

  • @watersjaws
    @watersjaws 3 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    Dude idk, the gen3 looked almost just as flat as the sdi truck. Stock. I wonder if you can tune the shock algorithms on the cpu like you can tune engine algorithms to get more hp. I think you get more either way by upgrading to the gen3 and because raptors hold there value so well, you can usually get huge trade in values for them. I think I'll still wait for the Raptor R but damn I love the look of the gen3 and that suspension looks sick!

    • @KeepItDirtyOffRoad
      @KeepItDirtyOffRoad  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Take a look at the footage again man. Gen2 with Eclick had less bucking, and had no body roll, very flat and predictable.
      Gen3 on the other hand had a little bit of bucking and it kept overcompensating and overloading the passenger side. Gen3 will be more capable and has way more potential sure, but we are just showing that the stock shock controllers leave a lot on the table.
      I have heard that you cannot really tweak the onboard suspension programming. You need add an external device like Eclick to take over the management of the shocks.

    Hello Muro, I have a 2023 Raptor 37 package that I am starting to build up but more weight conscious. One thing I could not find in the owners manual was how when you put just the suspension in Baja mode, not the drive mode, how the truck will respond on the street and off road? I get that Normal feels soft compared to Sport, but what exactly is Baja mode doing to the suspension. Thank you for any information you can provide, Chris

    • @KeepItDirtyOffRoad
      @KeepItDirtyOffRoad  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Baja mode is doing a ton for you. Traction control is tuned down, airbags sensitivity is reduced so they don’t go off when you go sideways, the suspension is stiffened up on the top end, at full compression, ABS is turned down so you can lock of the brakes easier, and and then your throttle response and shift mapping is changed to support aggressive driving.
      Baja don’t come alive till your going 65 mph on the trail. It’s whole goal is to keep you going fast.

      As for the 35-37 in version, there will have to be different programs because they are slightly different shocks. I personally think Eclick with the 35in shocks and the longer travel will be the most capable setup. Is there a way to jump without nose dive ? Even with 2 spares and 3ton jack in the back my gen2 still nose diving not all of the times but still pisses me off. im buying this and switch to live valve that thing is revolutionary . Great vlog God Bless.

    • @KeepItDirtyOffRoad
      @KeepItDirtyOffRoad  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes there is. But there are a few factors. The jump your using, your suspension setup, and weight distribution.
      Most people pick the wrong jump. Usually it’s a steep sudden short ramp onto flat ground. Very Damaging and usually the shortness forces they back to buck and the truck overloads the front in landing. A good jump should have a downward slope after the jump to allow the truck to come back to level and land on all 4 tires.
      Next, setup, if your springs are too stiff with an empty bed, or not enough weight, the back end will buck. I recommend at least 200 lbs. 2 tires, jack and some gear. Where the weight matters. Farther back is better. That why my new rack will have the tires in the very back, not at the cab.
      Eclick can help reduce bucking and all that to keep the truck more planted. But again, your current springs and shock settings matter. What’s your current setup?

    • @KeepItDirtyOffRoad
      @KeepItDirtyOffRoad  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You have the right setup, and if your carrying 3 spares and a jack it’s could be 2 things. 1 the jump your using or 2, the valving and setting on the rear shocks is too stiff.
      Try softening the rear shocks. You should have a setting and you will need to experiment a bit.
      Also, send me a clip of the jumps where it bucks. Sometimes the terrain will cause it and only way to avoid is with a fast live valve system like Eclick

      Have not hear of the DCS sport system.

    • @KeepItDirtyOffRoad
      @KeepItDirtyOffRoad  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Did a quick look and I see a few drawbacks. Biggest is that the dcs system does not have its own axis sensor. It relies on the trucks sensors. So that means it will be slower and way less precise than the Eclick system.
      Would like to see how it works, but I foresee some major issues

    • @lukehebert
      @lukehebert 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It came out right after SEMA this year so it’s pretty new. It popped up on the FR Forums from the vendor otherwise I don’t think I’d know about it either. I’m mostly a quiet lurker on the FR Forums. I know folks are looking for info on performance and trying to see how the E Click system compares. I haven’t really seen any video footage or anything so far. I’ve been poking around at both systems trying to decide which I might want to try myself.
      It indeed doesn’t have its own sensor suite it operates on the high speed can bus pulling data 1000 times per second. The DSC philosophy appears to be that they believe the sensors on the truck itself produce enough information fast enough but the original control module simply didn’t look at the data often enough or apply enough control. It exposes tunable options across just about every aspect of each shock independently.

    • @KeepItDirtyOffRoad
      @KeepItDirtyOffRoad  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Interesting, I need to see this thing in action. Using the trucks sensor and the facts that these guys are car tuners worries me. Offroad shock tuning is an art form that requires years of experience. SDi has years of offroad experience building parts for all the big offroad brands. Last time I saw someone put on shocks designed by a car tuner, it ended badly in the desert. I’m skeptical until I can see it in action

      So tell me, how is the TRX a better?
      The stock Gen2 with 30 times per second live valves is already outperforming the TRX. Gen3 will leave it in the dust. Eclick is going to blow it away.

      Why do you keep deleting your comments? I really like counterpoints and different views.
      Processing speed don’t matter if you can’t move the shock fast enough. TRX has a larger valve to open and close and choke the oil in the shock. BUT the line its chocking is too small and the front springs are too soft that it does not matter. The front end is constantly bottoming out because of the weight of the front and the road biased springs.
      So far that reason, a stock Gen2 with its slower processing power can already outperform your precious TRX. I literally have 2 videos up proving this. Go check them out.
      Where your video proof?
      In the future I’ll try and get a TRX here to show you how bad it does. Problem is TRX guys don’t want to offroad like Raptor guys. I’ve been trying and they just don’t show up.

      Not in the slow mo. Specially with the way it overcompensates.

      🤣🤣🤣 that’s hilarious. Got any other good jokes?
      I just posted a video on the Fox Factory truck. I fairly confident a gen3 will smoke it and have a video in the works to prove it
