I have a Ford Flex with eco-boost and the same problem the rattle on start up in the morning and I was looking for a fix and they said about a high flow oil pump. Here’s the part/ Melling M390HV high volume oil pump. It allows for more oil flow.
If you prime the gas (put foot on it when starting) it won’t make the cam phaser rattle (you’re welcome 😅) , BUT you should be able to get that fixed w/ the new parts I’d argue w/ ford on that gen 2 phaser maybe get some $$$ back. I am on my 2nd had an 18 that got totaled @ 45k miles right when it developed the rattle but otherwise fine but it got totaled by a distracted driver then I got a ‘20 & it’s @ 40k miles now no issue I think they fixed the cam phaser issue around mid 2019
I just test drove a 2020 gen 2 and had 60k on it.. overall first time driving 3.5 EcoBoost... do they kinda lag a little at slow speeds just driving slow before turbos kick in? Also felt like it pulled a little so not sure if that's tires or maybe needing alignment. Want to test drive a gen 3 before i decide though. Thanks in advance 👊

@@blazing2557 nothing crazy IMO it’s got the big gear in the rear so it gets up and goes pretty fast honestly my truck is pretty quick I raced a few other trucks and beat some

@@blazing2557 I always try and run 93 but I have put 87 in there a few time when I doing long hwy trips and they jack up the price at the gas stations I’ll just go cheap
@4:44 - that's not carbon fiber. You can clearly see that there are no strands inter-woven together. Nah my man, that ain't it. Very informative video regardless. I did not know about the timing chain issues or cam phaser issues with the Gen2 models. I will definitely be shopping for the Gen3 models.

My truck raptor 2022 rattle on cold start all the time is that normal Should i be worried. I never liked ford this is my first ford ever i traded my tundra 1794 Toyota for the raptor Should I go back to Toyota instead. Please advise
@@ItalianStallion410 Can’t wait! I got a 2009 V6 Stang with a glass roof and I do have FBO. (I’m 19 and was my first car.), but kinda diving more into water sports rather than cars and debating on getting a truck or keeping the Stang!

@@ItalianStallion410 what should I check when I go look at it!? It has all fluids recently changed new water pump, spark plugs, coil packs, air filter and upgraded metal oil pan. But he said he never had had any problem with timing chain and cam phasers like you said
@@RaathyOG I would look underneath the truck make sure nothing has been damaged all the door jams look at the truck in the sun make sure nothing looks like it’s been hit or painted bring someone with you to help you look just check every inch of it

22 raptor 37 here, probably the exhaust valves, mine rattles in quiet and normal, if i change it to baja it goes away. Happened after 2,000 miles
