    My mind just exploded. I can't believe I've been using keyframes on position and zoom of text for all this time. This is so much better.

  • @shaunbowen

    This video has made animating titles so much easier! For a novice video editor like me I thought the whole keyframes approach was a bit long-winded but I didn't know there was an alternative, until now.

    • @WilliamJusticeMedia
      @WilliamJusticeMedia  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Shaun, Thanks for your comments. I agree, keyframes take quite a bit of work. You can do just about anything you want, but they can slow you down. Animating without keyframes keeps everything quick and simple.

    Hi William, sorry if I write here.
    If I right click on the nodes in Fusion I find a "setting" menu on which I find "save as" which allows me to save the nodes as a .setting file
    Subsequently, if I do a drag & drop of the .setting file, I find my programming and nodes in the node editor.
    But what is the "Load" command located above the "save as" command for?
    Can't the .setting file be loaded even with a normal program load?
    I put the file settings in the library, but it could be convenient to load them also with a normal "load" in the node area, without having to use drag & drop. Am I doing something wrong?

    • @WilliamJusticeMedia
      @WilliamJusticeMedia  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have not used the before so not sure how it works. I just did a quick test.... it looks like it will load the settings for one specific node only....ex... i edited a node, right clicked and saved (ONLY THE ONE NODE)... modified the node settings,,, then did the load of the file I just saved. It restored the node settings from when i saved it....So only appears to to work for one node. when i tried loading a full composition, it did not do anything... So either drag/drop or adding the composition to the effects library at the ways to use them.

    I solved the Pivot Overlay issue by using a Merge Node with a Text Node "X" with a Checkbox Control that Turns the Blend on or off :) the Center of the Merge is Linked to the Pivot :)

    • @WilliamJusticeMedia
      @WilliamJusticeMedia  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi,, how's it going. Hope you are doing well.. That's a good solution. Actually in some of the early versions I did the same things so you could see the pivot point.. it had an "X" but i ended up taking it out...I was putting some animations together and I had forgotten to disable the view so there were all these "X" spots on the screen. I had to go back and click through all the transitions to find the ones where it was enabled... got frustrating...so i ended up taking it out....it would be interesting if they had a way to enable/disable something based on if the transition was selected in the UI. you have a merge that is only enabled when the transition is selected on the time line. You select another transition or clip and it disables the merge....it would be automatic .....anyway... always lots of fun stuff and challenges!!!

    I made all of those effects in Fusion and didnt recognize that its possible with the Transitions. Now I checked out your animate Express tool. Amazing! I understand that that 1 is for pushing in things. 2,3,4 I know too but what does 5 and 6? The settings are the same as 4.

    Can't get this to work in Resolve 18 Edit on a Mac. Is it not compatible with freemium version of Resolve? The Edit/Effects/ folders didn't exist, but I was able to create them and drop the .settings file in there (and in the Macros folder.) I can open it as a node, but in Edit it appears under Fusion Effects, not Video Transitions.

    This is a lifesaver!!! Been looking for a tool like this to replace Mr Horse Animation Composer and Mt Mograph Motion V3 plugins in After Effects. How did you build this? Is it possible to build a controller like this for other 2D preset animations like bounce, warp, excite, etc?

    Hi William, I want to start editing videos and i was really wanting to go with Davici resolve 16. The problem I have is that FCPX has a great plug in of animated handrawn cartoon elements that are exactly what i need. Do you know if there is anything like this for davinci resolve? Im struggling to find anything.

    • @WilliamJusticeMedia
      @WilliamJusticeMedia  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Stevie... I am not familiar with that plug in. what does it do? you can load lots of different graphics/overlays into resolve. I am assuming the cartoon elements are animated.

    • @stephenNI
      @stephenNI 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@WilliamJusticeMedia Thanks for the reply! Yes buddy they are animated. I've posted a link, if i can get similar animations/sfx in Davinci resolve i would definately purchase it. Sorry about posting the link just easier, ill remove when you see it. You mention you can load animations in, do you know where i can find similar royalty free? This is all new to me, im an electro technical officer in the merchant navy.

      So ive actually found something similar, its called RTFX generator by RTFX animations. It might be just what im after as providing I can use them in videos for uploading to YT

    Hi William. Thanks for being so generous. I've just installed the 16.2 version and had a problem installing the AnimateExpress. When I get to AppData/Roaming/Blackmagic Design/DaVinci Resolve/Support/Fusion/Templates/Edit there is only a Titles folder, no Transitions folder. What should I do?

    • @WilliamJusticeMedia
      @WilliamJusticeMedia  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure why that would be. Try creating the Transitions folder. Also make sure you are in the /Support/Fusion folder... there are other folders in there and it can be a bit confusing... Hope that helps!

      Hi... I know that some people have had issues on older beta versions. Try upgrading to the latest beta of resolve 17. Think it is beta 6. I think that fixed the issue that people were having. It should work in the free version.. so don't think that would be the problem. If you are still having trouble, let me know.
