    Novice cook here - when you're adding the daal, it has to be soaked first right? I made the eggplant curry, and the daal came out a little crunchy. Love the music and easy instructions!

      No need to soak dal, it will cook in the hot oil and it will be little crunchy which is good while eating.

      @@GuruRecipes OK, thank you. I thought the fact that it was crunchy meant it wasn't cooked enough. My tummy certainly didn't get upset - in fact, the eggplant was very delicious and soothing. Can't wait to try the other curries.

      The trick is the low pressure setting. On high pressure, even with more than a small amount of water, you will get a Burn notice.

    Wouldn’t adding just 1 tbsp of water actually give the food burn indication?

      No, it won't. Here I used 6qt DUO, it never gives BURN.

      Oil always goes to edge of the pot.

    Curry is not equal to Dry !!!! Lol
