Glad you shop at Oreilly haha!! See, love Evos, especially older ones but i gotta say, i love that i was able to just directly bolt on 04 STi Brembos onto my 94 TommyKaira M20tb (94 Legacy GT Twin Turbo). I wonder how different newer Evo stuff is from the older cars.
i love that!! i got an normal ' lancer' also called mirage somewhere 1993. rear is drum on mine. wonder if is so much work fit rear disc like those ? haha . you amazing !
👍🏼 Good way to de-compress the calipers, is a C-clamp with a 3/4 piece(about 6-7inches length and 3inch wide) of bar stock steel. Been doin that for years. And you don’t needa replace the entire tool set?? Wth I’ve bought craftsman before they’ve replaced at any craftsman location 🤦🏻♂️ some employees...
Yoooo that car is sick man my older bro has a evo 3 780bhp everything hks from hks in Japan 1 off reg plate says j123 hks magnesum alloys wide arced he’s turned me from Scooby doo to evoooo’s
(I guess on those 'new Craftsman' socket wrenches, they just generally suck and probably still do, so you might want to get some trustworthy thing or just more of em. (I'm surprisingly-impressed with this polycarbonate-bodied jobbie I got at Harbor Freight a few years ago so I could leave that in the car in the winter and not get all the heat sucked out of my hands if I used it but it's really held up. I don't think I'd break caliper bolts with it, though, probably that'd be tempting fate. :) ) (Also that brake line's toast. If it can leak at all it's amazing it can hold pressure ever. I'd do your rear lines ASAP, before driving if possible.)
To compress rear brake pistons they need to be pushed and screwed clockwise at the same time also the right tool is the cube that fits on the notches not the spreader, so yeah your old calipers are still functional lol
They’re definitely not man. I used the cube and caliper kit after the cube didn’t work. They compressed a little bit then locked up and wouldn’t go either direction
Nice work! I am also looking for a set of rear brake calipers for my Evo III. Do you have the part number for the ones you used or mind sharing a link where you got them? Thanks! 🙏
@@awdobsession717Hey! It’s been a while, but I was able to source a set from Viamoto as a reconditioned part. They may sell the main caliper body only so you might need to get other parts like mounting brackets separately if you need them as well. Hope this helps! =)
Thanks for the response! Rear caliper locked up on my Evo 3 and I’m having the same problem trying to find rear calipers for it, But if it wasn’t for you I would never guessed mirage caliper would also fit! Which it looks like a better option opposed to trying to find Actual Evo 3 calipers
I'm sure you could always get Dayton, or someone still in Japan, to send you stuff... but RHDJapan.com and Crooober are always good sources for parts for JDM cars.
@@CaptTwo6 now you got me wanting to buy it.. I would honestly keep this thing though, man. Evo 1-3 are already rare enough as it is. Chances are that you’ll never see another one.
Please do more videos! It’s so calming and nice.
Evo looks good. Nice documented trial caliper swap.
Been missing the content cap! Still enjoy all the videos. Can't wait for mor 4g63 content.
Evo lll looks classy and period correct 👌
I got an Eclipse Cross ad before the video 🥲🥲. Great video btw too 🤙🤙
Hahaha noice 👌
It's a good Monday when Capt uploads 🤙
It’s been a while 🥺
@@CaptTwo6 it's worth the wait 😏🤣🤘

Few things are compatible with the earlies but 4-9 share a lot of things

Superb
More Evo content :) Also about a month ago I bought an Evo X after 14 years of wanting one!
I love this car dude, can’t wait to get my Evo ix back on the road
Man, where you been, thought you and Spencer had run away together. Good to see you man. UK out.
Haha I have 3 vids to edit just been super busy with work training but I’m trying to get caught up!

yes please do.

Just twist the piston clockwise to compress the rear brake piston. Using long nose vise grip.
They were seized. Would not go either direction. I managed to move the drivers side a little bit but passenger side said nope
Good thing mitsu parts are interchangeable. More easy to find some parts. More HP on your channel bro

damn Jason time to do some rust preventive maintenance on that OKI EVO lol
Working on it bro haha. It hasn’t seen a drop of rain or been outside the garage at night since it got here
@@CaptTwo6 that OKI rust is like acid lol good luck brother
🤭🤗
4:00 I hear you, I found that super annoying either your neighborano have to fix it or junk it.
Did you see many evo shape gsrs in japan ? 4g93t
Please share where you got the Wilwood big brake kit from. Thank you.
Evolution Plus!
What kinda wheels are those!? They look nice!
As a joke, you should paint your EVO black, slap an emperor sticker on the back window and start conquering touge after touge (nice EVO btw)
Heck yeah!

Did you ever find any brake calipers for the rear? Most of the refurbished ones I’m seeing are out of stock or discontinued.

@@JinPaethank you sir 🫡
is there a specific name of that tail lamp in your evo?
What’s up Jason! Happy Monday
What’s up man! Hope all is well with you
white on white ftw
Where did you get brake calipers from ?
The fronts were from Evolutionsplus and the rears I bought from eBay. The rear calipers were impossible to find and took a few months of searching

😂😂😂 should be doing the front calipers this weekend
@@CaptTwo6 if my garage was done, I would have started. I also have the steel braided brake lines as well
I am going to order some from Alex. I want a new intercooler soon too 😑
🤔
10:03 Tein very rare item, i think that Tein need restore.
I recently replaced them so they are sitting in my garage now

Cap I hope you don't need to adjust the height on your coilovers at any time, as they look a little rusty can see them causing you a little trouble...
Already replaced them! Haha
Certainly not messing about with the Evo, she will be a minter when she's finished.
That brake pad that was new has had a catastrophic failure and you need to send it back and get a refund.!
I need a car without money 🤭
You still selling this?
It’s still listed and if there’s a serious buyer then yessir. I did take it to a meet over the weekend and it got so much attention I’m torn now lol

@@CJ2X for real, I own a evo x now, man when I was in Jamaica that was THE car. I couldn't afford it I ended buying two 1.8 litre GSR.
