    I think braiding relaxed hair breaks it off. Thanks for the video

    I stretch and relax my hair every 3-5 months and I use braids as my protective style. When I finally do relax I wait at least 2 weeks before braiding it again. That’s been working wonderfully for me. I braid my hair every 2-3 months depending on the style so I could get 2-3 sets of braids depending on the style.

      Knotless braids have been my go to style. Crochet is terrible for my hair. Only one that is not is curly hair but that only lasts about two weeks.

      What size knotless do you get? I was thinking about medium. I might switch to large. I don’t think jumbo will last long enough. I need them to last at least 3 weeks for my vacation.

    Relaxed my hair about a week ago and recently got jumbo knotless braids and I love them I don’t see a issue braiding relaxed hair you just have to do what’s right for you

    I love braids Queen. I am going on 14 weeks post relaxer and around this time is when I use braids to help stretch my relaxer. When I take them down my hair actually gains a couple inches. It’s what help me stretch my relaxers and help me retain healthy hair 💕

    Great discussion of the day,bigger braids for protective style is the goal and waiting right after a relaxer routine before getting a protective style is very good to prevent the hair from shedding more

    That'd probably my issue. For years I've worn braids. I literally take braids out relax myhair the same day and most of the time I braid it right back up the next day.and now my hair is damage and has gotten so short. I'm working on healing it and regrowing it now

    Don’t leave braids in for more than 2-3 wks??? Not when these braids cost $200+…I’m relaxed and I had my Senegalese twists in for 6 wks and I didn’t have much of a problem other than the expected shedding. I do agree though that braids are better/healthier for natural hair

      ikr these people be charging too damn much to only keep them braids 2-3 weeks. 🤬 Low key that is the only reason why i learned (with the help of TH-cam) how to do my own box braids. i mean yeah it might take me almost 2days, but i get them done doe lol 😂

      Braids are great for natural hair when u have a great hair braider. Too much of them rip through natural hair and dig the comb into our scalps. It’s time to #speak up and #walk out! ✊🏾

    any recommendations for virgin hair that was relaxed but is breaking? It makes me kinda sad i do everything right and even use olaplex which is very expensive. i wrap my hair at night and use a wide tooth comb but still experiencing shedding. I’m afraid to comb my hair. any tips ?

    • @kurlymeka
      @kurlymeka  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There are many factors that could be causing your hair to break. Did you bleach or put any permanent color in your hair while it was in its virgin state. Did you at any time texturized your hair.

    • @msAayoo
      @msAayoo 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@kurlymeka it was bleached about 3 years ago but tht grew out and was mostly the ends tht i believe would still be left. however i had dyed it out back dark brown. i do dye my hair dark brown as my natural hair color is light brown but i prefer it darker. it seems to be shedding as the strands that are coming out aren’t short but they’re long so i’m wondering if they’re braking from the roots? my hair wasn’t texturized either.

    The problem is the new growth texture puts stress on the relaxed hair so you better off braiding fresh relax hair just don’t put allot of fake hair on it
