4 months, wow you have this protective style thing on lock! With my hair type not sure if I can last your reccomend 3 months. 2 months is my goal 😊 but hey you never know I might surprise myself and make it to 3. Definitely will be following all your tips thank you!
Thank you for watching! I find it easier to keep braids in longer when they’re large and knotless. They look more like your natural hair so it’s easier to stretch. But two months is an excellent goal. Good luck 💕
@@beautiful94x51 I’m mid back now. And I primary use Unlay Hair Oil which contains Aloe Vera , which is a powerful moisturizer. On wash day I add Shea moisture coconut milk leave in.
It depends what oil you use as a woman with relaxed don’t use to much oil on your protective hair style is ruins it you can oil your scalp while your hair is in a protective hair style but don’t do it to often do it once a month
I have fine thin hair and I’m realizing the damage protective styles have done for the past 20 years. The weight of them, tight styles, not being able to wash my hair for weeks. I’m in crochet now I moisturize twice a week and haven’t washed in a month and my scalp is clean but there is a smell after working out or sweating. I’m still holding off on washing my hair because I don’t want to mess it up- which shows me that 4 weeks is my limit from now on.
Hi Love, do you think medium/small knotless braids will be good for relaxed hair? My hair is pretty healthy and on the thicker side. I cautious bc I don’t want my hairs to break at the root
I'm relaxed and have smedium knotless braids. I love them. I don't get the braids right after a relaxer. I normally wait. Some say two weeks, but I usually wait about a month.
Hello! I usually wash at the 2-3 month mark. I have a video on my channel detailing my 3 month wash and braid “refresh” if your interested. Thank you for watching 💕
Hi Beautiful, new subbie here 🙌, ill like to know, if we are not to use the heat tools on our hair, how do you keep your hair beautiful, flat and straightened? and can you do a video of how you do yours and how often dat should be. Thank you
Hello. Thank you for watching and subscribing 💕 I use heat on my hair once a month when I get my hair professionally styled. When I wash at home I air dry and do not use heat. My hair is not as straight during that time. Lol I have learned tricks for a sleeker appearance such as using heavy creams... mousse and tying my hair down when it 80% dry so my bun can be flatter. I do my best to make it work 💕
How many braids do you have in your hair? I had my hair done a month ago in knotless braids, I tried to tell my stylist I wanted the braids bigger, I have medium knotless braids, there are too many braids. I paid alot, so I am keeping them in til the beginning of March.
Hello. I apply it when my hair is damp, prior to styling. If my hair is freshly styled I apply it to my hand and distribute through my hair as NEEDED for shine/ moisture. I wash my hair biweekly so after the first week my style is usually done. At that time I will apply it daily ( do every other day if you have fine hair) and I wash at the end of the week. Reach out if you have any other questions. Thanks for watching ❤️
@@IannaYvonne thank you very much !! i meant with the braids , i stopped doing them because my hair broke and i had to cut them but now i want them again and do better this time. I learned some new things watching your videos last night. Thank you for that
@@ANewJourney111 Hello. Your welcome. So glad you found the content helpful. With braids, I apply it daily. It’s light weight and doesn’t leave buildup. Absorbs right into the scalp. I plan to refresh a few braid and reinstall.... so I will be showing my take down and knotless braid install process. It’s coming soon if your interested 💕
Hello! I blow dry my hair before installing protective styles. It’s better for the stylist and helps reduce breakage from manipulation if the hair is straightened and tangle free.
Hello. I usually don’t wash often when my hair is in braids. Once every 3 weeks if needed ( if I notice buildup in my hair or scalp). The least amount of manipulation you do the better for making them last. For itching and dry scalp I spray my vegan oil but I keep it cold. I find that the cold help with any itching I may experience
Hello! Thank you for watching. The oil that I use (Unlay) is a light weight oil that literally is absorbed into the scalp. It all natural and vegan. Not greasy or thick. I have In braids right now, it been 4 weeks and I have not washed my hair yet 😬 My scalp is Free of buildup or dandruff... and is all due to this oil. I used to have terrible dry scalp. I plan to upload a video today of my top 5 product for hair health. I will be including pictures of my scalp and edges if your interest in taking a look. Thanks for this question. I’m sure others are curious as well 💕
@@IannaYvonne Thank you for taking the time to respond! I will definitely be keeping an eye out for that next video. I get crazy build-up in my protective styles and I always accounted it to the oil and sweat (I workout a lot) but I’ll have to give the unlay oil a try.
Yes, I love braids, but the lady that did mine did them too tight, I told her I wanted jumbo, she did med, not good. Now am afraid to my hair braided again. Its in a healthy state, it sheds too much when I get braids, smh.

To prevent that, you want to apply water, conditioner and grease on that part of the hair as well.
