    I just bought the Wagner Pro 130 electric sprayer. $230 at Menadrs. Holds 1.5 gallons. Made a small wedge platform to keep the unit level on my 4/12 pitch roof. Hose length is 25 ft.. Worked very well. No need to thin, no clogging. Moved the atomized spray well. I have a 2,600 sq ft. roof. Single tab dimensional GAF shingles about 17 years old. Roof in very good condition. Use Wet ad forget thru the years, so no moss, mold or black streaking. I'm doing it is sections, over a few days. I couldn't physically take it or do it all at once. So a quality job. Roof Maxx quoted me $4,250. I'll be using 15 gallons Henrys above, at $35/gal. Plus the cost of the airless sprayer. Total out of pocket from me about $800. And I believe it will perform as good as Roof Maxx. Both Harveys and Roof Maxx process are rated for 5 years. And when done, I still have a nice $230 sprayer. For this again and other paint and stain jobs. I don't see how anyone can apply the Henrys without the Wagner sprayer. And an additional 11% off the sprayer (rebate). So going Harveys vs. Roof Max, saved about $3,400... Substantial. Would have been a bitch to roll the dimensional shingles. I live in West Bloomfield, MI. I blue taped the copper valleys and flashings so I don't gum them up with the Harveys. So a lot of attention to detail from me. There are more expensive sprayers (from Wagner and Graco), but this one does the job.

    You can't use regular garden pump sprayer. There's a special chemical sprayer for like deck sealer..I've been spraying my deck for years with the Olympic deck sealer. It never clogs.

  • @wt9653
    @wt9653 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Instead of Henry roof saver.
    You should be able to use Olympic waterproofer. It's about 1/2 the cost.
    My guess is it's a same blend. Just marketed differently.
    Pronano product says, it can be sprayed on asphalt roof shingles, concrete, deck, driveway, and more.

      I wonder if Thompson’s water seal is any good? I’ve got 10 gallons at my garage. It’s really junk for decks though.

    I tried this product as well with a pump sprayer, clogged it after 5 seconds. Surprised yours lasted that long to even get a video clip! haha. I then tried the cheap $50 one from walmart. Clogged after about 10-15 seconds. Ended up rolling about 10 gallons to get half the roof done. Averaged about 100-150 sq ft per gallon. The 200 ft ga. refers to smooth surface, so expect 100-150 for asphalt. I'm interested in trying out a larger sprayer, maybe something in the 3,000 PSI range so I can get the entire roof done in one day, but worried it might not be worth all the hassle with tips, mineral spirits to clean it out, etc. Maybe I'll just roll to make things simple.

      Pump sprayers won't work. I first tried it. So bought the Wagner Pro 130 airless electric sprayer at Menards $230. My sorrow (frustration) turned to joy. It worked.

    Looks like Elmer's glue substance. It must be very similar chemical product. I saw it under the name Duvilax more than 40 years ago. Inexpensive great product. Variety of use. Properly diluted by water I used it like primer before tile applications or additive to concrete, mortar or grout for excellent strength.

    Neat product. What does the mfg say about using a paint sprayer to apply the product? Product guarantees (e.g., extends the shingles life by 10 years)?
    What prompted you to use this product?
    No roof harness?

    When it rains I have a small leak on my patio roof, just a drip will Henry's seal my shingles as well ?

    • @FIXITHomeImprovementChannel
      @FIXITHomeImprovementChannel  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, if you can find the leak, I would start with something like a clear sealant like Through The Roof to seal the hole. Roof Saver isn't designed to stop leaks, just add life to the shingles.

    P.s. Not saying Roof Maxx is no good. Probably is good or maybe better then Henry's. But itis very high priced. And rated at the same 5 years. So for my money, I did mine with Henry's. Now the test of time will tell.

      @@stephen-ng I did note a slight cottage cheese look with the Henry's I bought. But used a mixing paddle on a drill and it smoothed it out. And it stayed smooth in my Wagner Pro 130 airless sprayer the whole time during the application. Next time, I'll look for the date on the cans. In storage, one should keep from freezing too.
