Very good review! For me its very hard trying to do a list of the Arkham Franchise, putting any game on one of the low tiers really bother's me, but here it is: Asylum Knight Origins City Asylum the best one for me, the ART style, the ui's, the detective vision, the Atmosphere omg... The old e archaic combat sistem really brings me up to play this game so much, that now i have more than 200 hours in Arkham Asylum, just by how I love this game. The boss fights arent really anything THAT good, but I like it pretty much. Arkham Knight is pretty underrated in my opnion, sure, the story isnt that good like Asylum or Origins, But the villains, the Map, the predator enviroments are just 👌🏻. By the way I think the batmobile is not overwelming, I just think that they used it wrong, like why did they used it for the deathstroke boss Battle? No one would have liked that, even after Arkham Origins, that make him one of the best boss battles in the franchise. I like the scheme of the Batmobile, I have more than 508 hours of Arkham Knight, and pretty much everything BUT the boss fights makes it a good game. Arkham Origins is the only Batman Arkham that I Played on the Pc, so it was a very diferent experience to me, I didnt put it in the 3 place bcs I dont like it that much, I LOVE Arkham Origins, the boss fights really do for this game, and the scheme of Batman being that Angry, Ruthless and Badass really brings me up to play this game everytime, the way he treats the villains are just different, He smacked penguin's face on to the mirror, almost threw a sword in Deathstroke's face, Faced Bane while he was in Tn-1 and tied up... Man, this game is IT. It may seem like I'm trying to be different, but I dont like Batman Arkham city. Gameplay-wise for me its like an uncanny valley, The combat is trying to be like Knight, but is a rushed down Asylum, its weird, too weird. Something I didnt bring down before was the Original batsuits, that is a pretty big factor to me, and that city batsuit... eehh, I doesnt have nothing especial you know what I mean? I mean, comparing to the Asylum one, the only thing that standed out was the Batsymbol, now its just an generic batsuit with big ears and some dots on the suit 😐. The only thing that stands out for me in this game are the boss fights, Mr freeze and Solomon Grundy are PERFECTION, but there is 2 things that killed my likeness for this game: Gliding through the city and Catwoman... I play Arkham Asylum and City on the remastered versions, and I play on the ps4 slim soo the optimization isnt the best thing in the world. That being said, the Asylum doesnt keeps freezing like Arkham City, Everytime I say, EVERYTIME I glide in City, the game keeps in lile 20-15 fps, and its really annoying trying to get to one point to another in that big ass city with that sh1t grappel, at leats Origins have fast travel, that helps a LOT. Catwoman is soooooo underwhelming, Like, one time I an the Mfckn BATMAN kicking the sht out of goons, and out of nowhere the game changes in an anti-climatic way to Catwoman 😐. The combat= Trash The predator sections=Trash The travelling= Trash The missions= Trash I preffer 1000x playing with Harley Quinn, that has No variety in either combat and predator than catwoman. Im serious, like, you just "killed" Joker in a very serious and climatic ending... Then you get to play as catwoman trying to get to her home 😐😐😐. So thats it, my opnion may be different, but I like that way.
That is one hell of a hot take, might just have to pin this comment to see how everyone reacts :D Good luck Macaco! While i do disagree about city i get that criticisms, city can be very repetitive at times especially in the middle when going after the cure, just one big fetch quest but i still had a blast with it! Great to see some knight lovers as well
@@JacksGameReviews prbbly im going to be demolished by the comments, but im a simple player, not a specialized fan of Batman and his storys. Btw I forgot to say, that was a great video!, really bring me my attention every time (And my attention spam is cooked, so thats a win).
Arkham origins needs a remake or remaster so the 4 arkham games be played on one system ( unless the 360 version is backwards compatible with xbox one )
Great video! Here's my perspective: Origins is my second personal favourite MOSTLY because of the story and presentation. I think it has the strongest character work and most impactful scenes. It's the only game in the series that contains the most important aspect of a game to me: looking forward to gameplay sections and cutscenes. Every time I replay it I always look forward to the boss fights and especially the whole hotel section. That said I must agree that its objectively the worst. Due to the dull map design, bugs, lack of innovation, reused assets ect. You can even see that a lot of gameplay sections are heavily inspired by City (structurally) Here's my PERSONAL ranking: 4: Knight 3: Asylum 2: Origins 1: City Knight is last for a couple of reasons that are hard to explain. The lack of Paul Dini is obvious, the writing just feels off, the characters don't act like they did previously, the dialogue feels very on the nose (example: Scarecrow's dialogue consists entirely of generic speeches about fear and Mad Hatter has been reduced to rhymes) The first two games had a certain tone that screamed comic book, the characters felt fleshed out without needing much development, you could tell there was history and the world felt deep and lived in. Knight lacked that entirely. So many story decisions were so baffling and the lack of boss fights really bothered me. It would have been FINE if we got atleast one proper boss against Jason. Other than that I genuinely love the actual gameplay but because I'm not invested in the story or most of the characters I always play the game frustrated. Asylum is next simply due to how archaic it is. The story is pretty shallow and so is the gameplay. But I still put it above Knight because it was their first attempt and has something that the others don't really have: storytelling through environment, it's genuinely interesting, immersive and creepy to explore the Asylum, and this is helped by appearances from Scarecrow and how Ivy changes the landscape. I already explained my take on Origins City is obviously Number one, like you mentioned it's the best overall package, great gameplay, great story, great characters, great bosses. And it still retains that comic book tone that Asylum had. And here's a thing that I hear brought up a lot. "Why do people hate scarecrow in Knight but they're Okey with Strange" Fair question and here's my reasoning: Hugo Strange's character for one is interesting, he has interesting motivation and his plan is genuinely intriguing. The revelation of the history of Wonder City and how Ra's is involved makes sense and adds depth, and Strange's deconstruction of the other villains is genuinely great and interesting. So even if he doesn't physically appear his influence is felt during every aspect of the game. In comparison, Scarecrows plan and motivation is so generic and boring, that even if he has more screentime and dialogue, you don't care because it's not interesting. Not to mention that his dialogue (in comparison to Strange) is really boring. Also also actually actually, Strange fills his role perfectly, he feels right at home as Warden of this super prison and Mastermind. In comparison, Scarecrow never struck me as a good fit for the "ultimate, calm composed god king of Gotham" he's just a crazy person who gets off on breaking people, and his role in asylum fit him much better. In Knight he just wants to shoot his gas everywhere. I like that he moved away from just wanting to use chemicals to break Batman, and instead use his flaws and fears (regarding allies and family) to break him, but again, when the ultimate plot is as generic as it is, this becomes secondary. And let's not talk about Jason, such a bad iteration of the character, horrible and predictable plot twist and they don't even conclude his story
Now this is what TH-cam is all about :D Couldn’t agree more despite personally having a different experience with each game apart from city, just shows even a game that wasn’t received well at launch like origins can always have a fanbase Not a bad game at all just not quite up there for me, eitherway I think WB did a great job with origins considering they didn’t have much creative control with how the game was designed due to it being a arkham game :D
@@JacksGameReviews Yeah I feel like they could have innovated more tho without breaking lore too much. Grapnel boost wasn't an issue to me. I just assumed that since that suit is bulkier, it could handle the G's ,but when he designed a lighter suit he needed an upgrade (basically confirmed in Knight) But I would like some actual small gameplay differences, maybe he HITS harder (less hits to take a guy down) But he is slower, so you need to be more careful with your counters, and by building up freeflow focus (make it take longer time) he gets more fluid. Stuff like that. Also I think the game suffers from a lack of peds. I can excuse it in Knight because of the car but not Origins, the world would feel much more immersive if you could scare the shit out of little kids
Even the lowest of the Arkham games is in the top tier of gaming, calling Arkham Origins an 8/10 instead of a 9 or 10 is still high praise. I love all the Arkham games, and hope that more people experience them.
If arkham city had knights gameplay and expansive open world, it would be the ultimate arkham game. Personally, knight is my favorite just due to the sheer effort the devs put in to make it the ultimate arkham game, even if some things were overdone or are lacking.
I love the world of knight, the detail is kind of insane, still remember that e3 2014 demo i think seeing him just dive out of wayne tower was just Insane man, don't get that feeling watching demos anymore
It was filmed in 2023, currently in the process of bring my second channel content onto this one :D Gonna have a lot of comments like this for a while lmao but thanks for watching Zino!

Jacks Game Reviews, I really enjoyed this video, so I hit the like button!

I play all the games once a year, my origins 360 disc works flawlessly with my Xbox series x, and it worked just as well on the Xbox one
Great video!

I’m fine with you putting Origins Last but you did the Arkham Origons death stroke fight dirty, top 5 boss in any game ever for me.
He’s been around since the 1930s 🤓
Its 2024 dude 😊 @ 04:57
He might have recorded it back in 2023 buddy. Think smarter not dumber
@JMMOG that's true, although I'm sure Jack can confirm either way.

1960s!!?

Yeahhhhh i know man, i was thinking more about the tv an movies ya know, but it was around the 1930's the first comic came out
