Miljenko Matijevic is his name . They came along about the time the music scene was changing . He was also hurt at a concert where something from the rigging fell and hit him in the head !! It set the band back while he was recovering ! Never really made it big , but the people that heard them , remembered them !! They did the music for the movie Rock Star . Mark Wahlberg and Jennifer Aniston were in it . Miljenko and Steelheart are still performing .
If I’m not mistaken the accident happened while he was opening for Slaughter. He jumped up on some rigging that hadn’t been secured and it fell hitting him. He left the stage and went to the hospital. The rest is history. History that is still being written today! Check out “you got me twisted” and many others!
Steelheart was the first band I ever saw at a small venue when they passed through Akron, OH. in the early 90's. They were just barely on the radio at that point, and this song was their hit. I can still smell the fog machine in my memories, lol. His voice was outstanding in the "hair metal" genre.
Before they changed their name to Steelheart, they were called Red Alert and they played in the Ct. rock clubs where Milli would peel they paint off the walls with that voice.

But if you want a current banger his version of hallelujah is not to be missed. Mili definitely deserves to be in the PDC. The Range Planet says he has a 3 Octaves + 6 Semitones range, so his range is not very much. His range in the high registers is awesome, but not overall range.
These guys were just there they opened for everyone, I have seen you comment on a lot of 80's bands, but you really have to listen to Def Leppard or even Night Ranger to understand what drove kids in the 80's....lol
It was a tragic injustice when light rigging fell and struck him severly injuring him. It messed up his voice and he was no longer able to hit the high notes as a result. Had it not happened they would have surely gone on to being one of the big acts of the time. "She's Gone" is his other notable track to hear.

Great song and vocals....but Grunge was taking over..and men became morose, self-doubting and.. progressively weaker.

90% of the glam rock era weren't very good live. They had a lot of studio magic. Steelheart never disappointed. In fact, they're still doing it.
He also sang most of the songs on the Rock Star soundtrack.
You should react to his acoustic version of "Sheila" to see a more playful and yet very powerful performance.
