I’ve been loving these videos when you’re showing more detail cause it just shows all the haters how great of mechanic you are and you can probably out do most of them
You go girl !!!!!!!!! I remember back in the day the fram filters were screwing up and clogging those nozzles which tore up the pistons ,,,,,,,,fram bought a ton of engines ...😅
good video and you did a very good job on explaining things and did very good work as well and you are right if you don't do this right you can mess it upyou all have a great day now
Nice! I was wondering about the plastic cooling nozzles. But they have a metal banjo inside the plastic.and rest of plastic is locator. Mystery solved. Thanks Melissa. Awesome video.
Torque them banjo bolts tap on them with a hammer, then retorque for a perfect seal not really needed here but a good thing to do when you don't want leak😉
We had a c15 that melted a piston while under warranty. Cat rebuilt it. A year later melted another piston. Peterbilt rebuilt it still under warranty and changed all the cooling nozzles, they said 1 was broken, looked back at Cat records and the year before they also determined it was a nozzle that was the cause, Cat only changed the 1 that was bad.
Melissa you are always awesome and beautiful and a very knowledgeable mechanic. I wish you could help with my old truck to get it back on the road. I can only do so much physical and dealing with Cerebral Palsy.
I don't understand why today they make engines that are more advanced in performance but with some components made of plastic like the one you have in your hand. As a general mechanic of any work vehicle or tool that comes my way in my free time, I have always preferred to repair old things for the simplicity of how they are made but also because they are more robust and long-lasting in doing more work. or road of the new ones at the cutting edge.
This is why you rock girl, been a long time follower, truly enjoy your video's. (Just wished your video's were a bit longer but all is good). Thank you for sharing cheers :) I should state, been following you since you started youtube.
LOL, This lady is so utterly gorgeous that I have to sometimes close my eyes to keep from being distracted and thus losing focus on what she has to say...'cause I wanna hear that...
Awesome to see a woman not afraid to get her hands dirty...kniwing a diesel is even more aweaome....

These videos are makin me want to get a 2005 dodge cummins and try rebuilding it
EMD diesel locomotives use a similar piston cooling nozzle setup. Although they are wayyyy harder to change reaching through a window in the block
