Swivel socket the carrier bolts pry bar the exhaust for the last 4 threads index the driveshaft and slide it out the back… beautiful presentation an donuts and throttle blips in gear do in fact cause premature wear of the that part then the trans mounts and diff fail later…
Nothing just "slides" off. You have to cut the carrier bearing housing off to get the old one out. Do do that I removed the exhaust. The only way your statement makes sense is of you unbolt the driveline at one end. Which I did NOT want to do give the bolts are torqx style and were most definitely going to be harder to remove than the exhaust
This is the best repair video on this carrier bearing out there ! I just changed it out on a 300C a day ago. Previous fix temporary was to drill new holes forward an inch and remount the torn rubber on the bearing not behind the bearing like factory. It worked well in a pinch but the new version split carrier was a god send like you .

I had the same issue with my car and after seeing this, I purchased the same kit and my son and I were able to fix my car. Thank you for the video tutorial. Wish I would of known there was a bearing I could of bought I bought a new shaft because a bearing I was told was unavailable for that year. Mine 2015 challenger rt shaker and had only 30,000 miles on it when it went out . Just a bearing up grand would of saved me some $$$. Dealer said my warranty just ran out go figure. I just did mine, figured since i was putting a new AWE exhaust on it would be a good time to do it, haven't driven much to feel if there is much vibration difference considering my factory one was still intact so I guess time will tell on the wear of it, at least you can service them easily with new rubber
the 1994 ford thunderbird i have has 365'000km's on it and the drive shaft is still the original, has a second transmission in it and a "unidentified terminator engine". (things in vehicle that force one to take it in to be serviced regularly) 😋

Yeah, at 100,000 on any dodge you'll need to change the dodge part into a ford. You'll get more than another 100,000 miles easily with no other major repairs.
I bought the piece from JXB and some popular shops refuse to do the work because they dont want to be liable. Then they wanted to charge me 1300 labor and all, when i already have the piece i need. Still looking for a shop to do it. I showed them multiple video especially yours but they are giving me a hard time.
Solid work, good job on the loctite ive seen a few of these installs and they werent using loctite which is a bad idea. Question though when you were wrapping up am i crazy or is the driveshaft not straight? It looked like the position of the CSB was slightly more to one side.
Just seeing this part for the first time I wonder if the exhaust heat is shortening the OME part life. maybe having side pipes would solve that issue, not sure if you can even find those anymore, I would love to see you wearing safety glasses whenever you’re under rusty cars or anything you’re working on. Eye injuries happen so fast to mechanics and welders ,Amazon and your local Home Depot have safety glasses, and pickup a face shield for overhead work and grinding, and try not to be complaisant or to tired to stop 🛑 and 🤔 always put safety first, If I worked with you I would tell you the same thing at work. I enjoy watching your interesting content, If you weren’t so special I probably wouldn’t have mentioned the safety thing but sometimes we feel guilty if we don’t try to safeguard people we care about. Busted my safety glasses and cracked my real glasses underneath. Keep up the good work, i follow women like you and point out your work to my 4 daughters..and now 2 granddaughters.
Your Carrier bearing is not centered in the driveline direction. For reasons to keep which in your bearings of your Eugene as well as help with the load off of a Carrier bear itself.

I don’t know if I’m getting ripped off by the mechanic. I have a bad driveshaft center support bearing and they say I need to replace the entire driveshaft which would cost me $1900 with labor included. Does this seem reasonable at all? Why would I need to replace the entire driveshaft if only my central support bearing is bad?
It's best to just pull the whole driveline out if you don't equally match up the weight it could unbalance the driveline and it will mess up the transmission
Yep, it's just a Mopar, Dodge, Ram, Chrysler, Plymouth, Fiat, Jeep thing....all of them are essentially broken before they leave the factory, so I guess you did pretty well getting 80k out of it🤣🤣👍🇦🇺

Built in obsolescence. Sell them cheap enough so you buy them and make the profit on the parts that get replaced. Labor goes to whoever fixes it.

Use a ratchet strap to pull back on the exhaust and those slip joints come apart much easier.

Use a parent to Mark both sides before pulling out the driveway so I can match it up correctly

Because you’re getting ripped off I hope you didn’t actually pay for that. She explains in this videos perfectly how to replace this part

So the original bearing was never replaced shame to go that far and still have a potential failure looming,,like you said it is, a muscle car
Mopar doesn't seem to want to improve their quality on a lot of things. You know that from doing steering up grades on dodge diesel's.
Why all manufacturers do stuff like that because it’s cheaper and won’t last. Build it cheaper and sell it for more
