*Important notes* I mentioned this in the video but I’ll mention it again here: all builds in this video have been tested against the challenge mode virtual trainer battles - this includes the entire gauntlet of them - as well as against the super bosses, all on hard mode, in order to verify viability. If you are wondering why X or Y skills aren’t being used, remember that I said these builds are meant for hard mode and are Godborn ready; there are only so many skill slots and thus sacrifices need to be made. So an ability not being used could be a combination of not enough space, not as high a priority, or it may simply not be necessary. If you swap to the Demi-fiend essence (which I recommend once you get it) then that will free up slots for each build. My recommendations in this case would be to add more supporting passives rather than active skills - so things like the second Pleroma, Critical Zealot, etc. Finally, and this is probably the *most important* note: these builds are meant to function against a wide array of enemies and bosses, and be functional regardless of your team composition. If you are tailoring a build for a specific boss or strat, then there will absolutely be better setups. Quick Demi-fiend kills or the 4-turn kill of the new super boss that unlocks Godborn mode come to mind. Please do not tell me, "you should have done this" or "this is better", etc.; I assure you I have thoroughly considered, analyzed, and tested my options, so don't make me be mean. Edit: As for my party positioning: I am well aware you can change what slot that the MC is in. I have a combined almost 600+ hours between SMT5 and SMT5V and have tested moving him to different slots extensively; however, for *my party and playstyle*, slot one is optimal in almost every situation. Oh, and Kannabi Veil
@@MrTsukihami Of course. In those rare cases you simply function as a normal dodge tank while your other demons finish the encounter or use the demon unlocked from True Neutral ending to give yourself Pierce.
This game has a lot more vareity then base 5 easily which was mostly just crit aura+crit zealot+murakumo abuse. Especially now with stuff like omnipotent succession, paraslene blur, passives, and combo skills
@@rotonek2887 not who. It is a magic based skill that does mid to severe almighty damage, the damage scales based on the number of debuffs on the target.
From my experience its been less useful then on paper, simply because the races of demons are the ones that I wind up using the most. Its Herald, Megami, Femme, and Lady that null that ability, all those besides Herald are where my best support and damage dealers lie
It's less restrictive than you think. Konohana Sakuya is a Kunitsu and thus doesn't count. As for your third demon, Just Pick any big physical beatstick, Like Odin. Or another Buffer. Being able to debuff fully in one Action is too good to pass Up. It's why Cleopatra was so broken, but even better.
My Parasalene Blur build has made Onyankopon a key part of my team. His unique skill of giving taunt to any ally and maximizing their attack allows me to free up a skill slot.
@@RozalinGamingI mean, you could just have Onyakopon cast King of Tales with both Boon Boosts, and then swap him out pretty quick. Or just give him an unholy amount of Vitality Incenses (Specially on Godborn), that also works fine!
@@Poyomini Boon Boost doesn't work on King of Tales; the skill still only lasts 3 turns. The only things that the Boon Boost passives work on are -kunda and -kaja effects.
So quick thing about the Dodge build, Since some enemies null repel or absorb light, if you're able to, try to bring impalers Animus so you can get past that resistance
i really like using mother harlots essence with drain force and repel ice. you reflect phys and ice, drain elec and force, and resist light and dark. that only leaves fire as a neutral element this does take one extra skill slot as opposed to just covering up naamah's physical weakness, (or is the same if you cover up the light element) but i think this is way better in context of the press turn system you also null charm and are weak to sleep, but i feel like those rarely matter to me
The extra press turns don't come up anywhere near enough for me to consider Mother Harlot's essence better given you need to use 3 passives instead of 2. And if we are talking aliment resistance, Naamah's also nullifies Charm but also Panic, and has no weaknesses so it wins there too.
How does Paraselene blur work into fights like Satan and Masakado? Just use impaler’s animus? Does paraselene blur work with Omnipotent succession and impaler’s animus.
@@kira64xyzyou can always use the omagatoki skill that lets you pierce on your burst turn which counts as an aura for the party so it doesn’t override succession
Interessting to see these very defensive options, I still have Demi Fiend and Satan to do. The new magatsuhi skill that quadruples your turn is a charge effect that lasts until you use a attack, meaning that you can combo it with another magatsuhi skill (critical or the tyrant skill) for some disgusting burst damage. I killed shiva in 3 turns with a omega burst turn. That worked well for Shiva but super lucifer kicked my ass since I never got a clean setup because he deals way more damage than shiva. Exited to see new builds coming up. Kannabi Veil might be the only way to keep a support demon alive in the lategame.
for the last build how about using Onyankopon as buffer with is targeted taunt and free a skill slot for something else like Kannabi Veil, the second pleroma or Enduring Soul?
As mentioned in my pinned comment, these builds are meant to be used in a wide array of situations and not rely on any specific party members. If you want to start tailoring them to specific strats, changes can definitely be made.
So I just continued my smt5 vanilla gameplay recently after 2 years. I got the dlc right before it got delisted. I want to savor it and appreciate it since I'll probably not go back after vengeance. That being said, I never use strategy guides or builds, I just wing it, at least first time through. Man, after seeing this video, it is painfully obvious how much I'm leaving on the table. I don't want to restart, but dang. I clearly don't know what I'm doing. I see vengeance has so much more stuff like team attacks and stacking attack buffs or something if people in the party have the same something. Besides that, I'm just trying to get the basics down right. I played p3fes, and strange journey redux, and iv, Apocalypse. Again, I just had a hard time getting my ass handed to me until I leveled enough. A lot of game overs. Idk what I'm doing, haha. It's just crazy impressive to see this how detailed and clear for so many different scenarios. I'm sure this sounds dumb can you reallocate stats in general? In vanilla? Only cuz all these builds and changing moves and resistances and so on essentially rebuilding them over and over. Also, I imagine you have all the dlc, like the money ones and exp ones, but I just got them, and to me, it's cheating, but do you think its ok? Did you? I'll be looking through your channel, I just found it with this video. Very impressive, so, yeah, thanks.
I only purchased the money/exp DLC in the original version in order to make content since it helped with making builds faster. I have it for SMT5V as well but that was because it was provided to me along with the game by Sega to make content. Normally I wouldn't purchase leveling DLC, but not because of cheating or anything, more just because I don't want to support it since they have clearly lowered the amount of exp and money you get normally in-game to sell the DLC. As for learning the games, it just takes time. Keep at it and you'll definitely get better and better!
All boost items and sutras can be purchased on Godborn from Gustave. However, their price is exorbitant. Thankfully, you can farm and sell 100 Glory for 500k
You can get them randomly from demons that talk to you in the demon rest areas, or I believe Queen Mabb in Creation route gives you some incense for giving her more gems after her quest. But no balms from her.
just a note about the dodge tank build bc i didnt take in how bad this is until i started using it: paraselene blur DOES NOT PIERCE and none of these builds run impalers animus. the fact that murakumo and moonlight frost is guaranteed damage makes me lean toward those builds a lot more by default
People don't run Impaler's Animus because it isn't worth it; if you want something else to attack with when not using Paraselene Blur, you're better off adding a second attack option into the build. As for how it performs against Moonlight Frost or Murakumo, on easier difficulties it doesn't matter, but the dodge tank build is a night and day difference in terms of just how much stronger it is than basically anything else in the game, to the point that it lets you easily win fights against enemies more than 50+ levels higher than you.
yeah when it works its great but it does nothing against the bosses im up against right now. cleopatra, marici, maestema, khonsu ra, etc. im pretty much forced to swap builds right now bc mc is kinda dead in the water
@@namespelldwrong9779 nah, there is no need to swap builds; simply have a party member do the damage for you. In most cases even when you can deal damage with the dodge tank build, your MC isn't actually the main damage dealer anyways. It's a support spec that can do damage, not a main damage dealer.
I've been coming back to this video for a while now to try and finalise my Nahobino build. I'm almost there but I'm struggling to decide on my remaining two skills. So far my current build is: Murakumo, Chaotic Will (Easy mitama killer), Lunar hurricane, high almighty pleroma, high force pleroma, bloody glee, murderous glee, critical zealot. With the Demi-fiend essence for its omni resistance. The two skills I'm not sure of keeping are Lunar hurricane and high force pleroma. I know I want to get rid of LH for revival chant but I don't know what to do with the leftover slot where high force pleroma would be.
Getting rid of Lunar Hurricane is a good idea. For the last slot you could just do a regular Almighty Pleroma or some skill for MP management such as High Restore or Energy Drain.
It doesn't go down the drain when an enemy nulls light, your MC just simply turns into a pure tank for 1 fight is all. Once you hit the end game your MC isn't really even your main damage dealer anyways.
@@RozalinGaming I actually messed around with this build on my latest playthrough and I swapped out the evasion/counter passive for Impaler's Animus, the extra press turn you get from dodging makes it perfect to set it up, if the enemy nulls light. Surely a DPS loss if the enemy doesn't but makes it more comfortable to use
@@AceFerron yeah, all of the Charge-effect passives do result in less damage than just using a press turn to attack due to their multipliers being low; Impaler's Animus for example is only a 1.3x multiplier.
May ask is there a reason not have Yabsume shot demon in first slot in turn order? This would get little extra damage and make full use 1st press turn.
I don't put it there because of my full party setup valuing the turns of my other two non-MC demons more; I tried doing what your suggesting before and found that my sequencing worked out better with Yabusame in slot 4.
Yeah I find this odd as well. There’s zero reason to not have Nahobino in slot 2 so you can take at minimum 6 actions per turn rather than 5 actions per turn. When possible you should almost always go for 2 demons that can target weaknesses / crit. For this reason my phys Nahobino is frequently in slot 2-3 as it’s imperative that slot 1-2 can reliably generate press turns. If 1-2 can generate press turns that a reliable 8 actions per turn barring random enemy dodges.
Murakumo is still fine but it's behind magic now with the new skills and significantly behind the dodge build. Basically Murakumo is fine for all the content that was part of the original game, but starts to feel underpowered when tackling new content/Godborn which was clearly designed with the new skills in mind.
At the moment my nahobino is using: Inflaming divinity, murakumo, divine arrowfall, almighty pieroma, boon boost, mediarama. I gave it resist dark to seal off all my weaknesses since I got an essence that offered 4 other resistances but it gave me dark weakness, now I have no weakness. I also worked to fuse and correct other common summons and remove their weaknesses.
I'm currently running the moonlight frost build. It's pretty solid so far. Moonlight Frost High Ice pleroma Ice pleroma Null Fire ( using Vishnu essence) Enduring Soul Kannabi Veil ( or intercalation ) Elusive Eclipse Luminescent Mirage I want to also try the Heavenly Ikuyumi build on a different playthrough, wthe skill itself is Almighty that does medium to severe damage. It gets stronger based on the number of defuffs the enemy has. I imagine it'd be pretty strong after 1 debilitate or Cleo's Frolic.
I'm currently using the Moonlight Frost build I showcased myself! I tried Ikuyumi but wasn't impressed with it unfortunately. At max potency it didn't do much more damage than Moonlight Frost, which is an AoE skill, and it has the downside of being underwhelming against any enemy that either buffs themselves or dispels themselves.
@@RozalinGaming I thought that Moonlight Frost build you showcased was pretty good. I simply wanted to take a diffrent take on the build. Plus, Intercalation, Luminescent Mirage, and Elusive Eclipse just work really well together . About Ikuyumi, that's disappointing to hear although I understand your reasoning. Seems like if you want to run a endgame or God born magic build, the Moonlight Frost seems to be the only one worth it while strength based builds have a ton of options now with Paraselene Blur and Lunar Hurricane.
Wow, I always avoid drain skills just out of habit since they suck so bad in Persona... Clearly I should've given them a chance in SMT, as they're obviously a lot better 😅
@@RozalinGaming I just noticed this reply. I guess I don't worry about anything in Tarturus because you get an infinite amount of items, and it's usually easy to clear all available floors in a night.
Hey, really nice video, thanks! How does Paraselene Blur perform against superbosses btw? Wouldnt the resists/nulls/drains make it a pretty bad dps option?
if your running a certain little spoiler guy from a certain ending then you wouldn't need to worry because you can pierce regardless, that or you still function as a dodge tank
I finished the game with a mixture of the first and fourth builds. Murakumo+Paraselene in an all in STR build. I only had to change it for Satan because that thing was either cheese or perish.
Demi fiends fight requires more strategy for that specific fight than just a generic build. You want a good strategy going in. A support build might work but tbh I found from being able to consistently beat rhe demi fiend on hard, you want the protag as a dps
curious if your going for a showcase of the late game demon builds and the healer and buff/debuffer comparisons (ie idun and the new dlc demon and cleo vs other) btw this nahobino builds helped me decide on my target build thanks
im dumb i havent played smt v since i beat it years ago. can you remind me what do support skills like lustar candy getting a +5 get? do they last longer even tho the text says it last x amount of turns or what. i know for damage skills it increases damage those +5 but for buffs idk what it gets from that
Don't say that about yourself buddy. I know for a fact that skills having positive potential reduce the mp cost. Additionally, some innate skills reward positive potential by increasing the damage of said skills.
@@reanschwarzer1525 yeah as TheDeatharcana said, for support skills it reduces the MP cost, which is huge for things like Luster Candy that are so expensive. For damaging skills it also increases their damage in addition to reducing their cost, and then for status ailment skills potential will increase the likelihood of applying the status ailment as well.
Do you know how to get past the patrolling guards in the subway to get to Chiyoda?? Rest of my game is just locked behind them even though im ready to finish last boss to complete the game...
Would the artemis from awhile ago still be the same build? I remember your build being more robust, but i'm unsure about the value of various attack skills like hell thrust etc, including the passives like Enduring soul, mask etc.
Excellent breakdown as always. I'm looking forward to your build videos for Konohana Sakuya and the Dagda whenever they're ready. Even though Idun is no longer the top dog of the SMT VV healer meta, would she still be a good backup healer for your 24 demon stock collection? Also, what ideas do you have for demon build videos currently? Or would you rather reveal those ideas once said videos are uploaded? Either way, hope you have a great weekend.
Idun is a fine backup healer until you get Demeter, after which Sakuya moves to backup with Demeter taking the primary healing role. As for demon build videos, I want to make one on Sakuya for sure, and I have another on a demon I think most will overlook but that is actually just broken; I think I may do that one next.
Ive been trying to make Paraselene Blur work, cant figure out if i should dump my stats on Agility, Luck, or both. Edit: by making it work, I mean without relying so much on the auto dodge skill that comes with it.
@RozalinGaming Thank you Rozalin! I'll commit to Strength, Vitality, and Agility then. BTW I found your channel during the Persona 5 Strikers days, you're my go to for anything SMT related!
On CoV, there is a girl in the area where you start the DLC quests at the bottom of the stairs. Talk to her and she'll give them to you, and then after that Gustave will sell them.
Is energy drain worth it? It really wasn’t in base smt 5. I don’t think I’ll run it as curatives do the job better unless it actually scales off almighty plemoras now
Energy Drain has always been worth it, being one of the most efficient skills in the game. I used it in the original as well and it was just as good there as it is in SMT5V -- the damage scales off of Pleromas, buffs, debuffs, etc. in both versions, and the MP scales off of crit. via Restore/High Restore and/or unique skills that allow spells to crit.
Fair enough. I just think the mp restoration is sort of underwhelming. I’d much rather chomp on a pot and have 200mp to spam a high power move instead of healing 50-60mp per turn and using a high power move every other turn. I think for me personally it wouldn’t see much use. It does give your healer/buffer/debuffer something to do in the interim as a bonus. If skill slots were so limited I would probably run it.
@@hyde_stopStealingMyUsername some source on the internet says that this demon is only unlocked on new game. Is it true ? I am playing the canon of vengeance
@@hyde_stopStealingMyUsername I got smt 5 vegeance. Do I have to purchas an DLC ? If so, never mind. I believe I can beat this game without that demon. There must be other good healers anyways.
Is there any reason why you don’t have the Demi-Fiend’s essence on your Nahobino? I would think it would be the standard since it basically makes you immune to everything except Almighty & piercing moves.
Because not everyone is able to/wants to/has killed him and so I wanted to provided builds that needed to included null passives, especially since a build that incorporates his essence is more of a NG+ build and not helpful for a fresh run.
@@Pokeredi. Metatron's is essentially the same as the one I use in the video (Naamah's), except instead of Null Light you would use Null Dark to get the exact same results. The only difference is that Metatron is almost at the very end of the game whereas Naamah's is acquired at the end of area 3.
I don't know if it is too late to say it or if it has alredy been said, but I think that Trumpeter's essence is Naamah's resistences but better, they share the same resistances, but Trumpeter nulls light and doesn't have aweakness on pyshical damage Edit: nevermind, Trumpeter Nulls Light and Darkness, but doesn't have more resistences anymore, Trumpeter had more resistences in the original Shin Megami Tensei V, but he doesn't have them anymore
Naamah's essence is far better than Trumpeter's. For starters, they don't share the same resistances; Trumpeter's essence nulls light and dark but is neutral to everything else, he doesn't resist it. Resists reduce damage of the resisted type by 50%, and with two skill slots Naamah's essence resists or nulls everything. Trumpeter would need 5 skill slots to reach that level of damage reduction. If you do use Trumpeter's essence, you save two skill slots but take ~50% more damage on average.
@@RozalinGaming Wait, you are right! I just checked out and Trumpeter had Naamah's resistences, but in the origininal Shin Megami Tensei V! I'm sorry for the missinformation, you are absolutely right!

Skill are Murakumo Luminescent Mirage Enduring soul High almighty pleroma Almighty pleroma Resist Phys (for demi fiend) Intercalation Elusive Eclipse Might change normal almighty pleroma to energy drain. Also when using Luminescent mirage sometime will completely change some boss patern like some boss will not use single target skill at all if it know it gonna miss and go for AOE instead(like Cov super boss) and most of the time even without taunt boss will generally use aoe and miss mc anyway. So no worry if you don't use fierce roar.

@@oscarteaa honestly I ain't dodging sht either but I'm still running with it because that's how I like to play. I am actually rushing to the boss and ignoring enemies, and hidden items just to see if I get walled by bosses. I also have two of this item where you can reallocate the stats so even if you screw your build up its no big deal.
@@jojobean3737idk if it’s too late and you’ve completed the game but agility is a dump stat for the para build. Elusive moonlight alone does more for your evasion than even 999 agility will so it’s only useful when you get the strength wind skill at the end of the 4th daat
Agi isn't chosen for defense rather for offense as it also affects accuracy. That being said, I also wouldn't look to much into my stats in this video as they aren't even remotely close to optimal.
Great video! How does Energy Drain fare against using items? Also, how vital is null light if your character is not weak to it? (i'm still mid game on this version)
There are only a handful of enemies that have a high chance of killing you even if you aren't weak to light so you can ignore a Null Light passive if the demon has no weakness if you want. As for Energy Drain, I use it over items because it restore similar-to-more MP (depends on the item being used) and deals some damage; if used with a demon that Almighty or High Almighty Pleroma it deals a fair amount, and it can crit on Magatsuhi: Critical turns letting it deal even more. You also can't run out of it during a long battle.
Thanks for the videos, man. I love how informative you are. This is my first SMT game, and I'm still trying to get my wraps around it even after getting the Chaos ending (I love Yoko). I played persona before so i know about these skills but somehow i always struggle maybe due to the press turn thing. But I love it. Kinda like a drug now for me. The learning curve is great. Not just spam spam spam skilss and win. Need a great strategy. TLDR: You helped me a lot with the builds. Thank you and stay healthy! ✊🏻
Arahabaki's Innate Skill applies whatever affects he currently has on him (buffs/debuffs, taunt, charge/concentrate, even Omagatoki effects) onto any demon you switch into the field as long as Arahabaki is on your current party. The skill description implies that any affects he puts on himself will also apply to your party as well, but that is a mistranslation, and the actual effects are on the paragraph above.
It's main functions are to increase dodge chance and hit rate. Whether or not it's worthwhile for dodge depends on your build, but personally I like hitting my enemies so I always invest in it and have never regretted it.
You could, but the point of my builds isn't to lock yourself into needing a specific demon(s) in your party; plus if in battle he were to die you no longer have a taunt. It also means using Onyankopon which takes up a demon slot for something that only takes up 1 skill slot, and while you can make him descent, he will be worse than other options even when optimally built.
Great vid! And I wanted to add something to the agi tank build as an offshoot: if you dont want to use fierce roar, another trick you can do is use Onyakopon with his king of tales skill. Instead of buffing def, it will buff your attack by a lot and make your counterattacks hit much harder. It will also allow you to slot in Enduring Soul, which is a skill I will always swear by until the end of time. Also, Lunar Hurricane is an option instead of Blur if you sink enough into your Agility stat, as it can do grotesque amounts of damage if set up properly due to its crazy hit scaling.
I tried using Onyakopon and absolutely hated it. As for Lunar Hurricane, if I were to use it it wouldn't be in place of Paraselene Blur but in addition to it, though a sacrifice would need to be made.
I wouldn't ask for his opinion if I were you. Frankly, he's a casual player. 1. He unironically invests into Agility which is the most useless stat in the game (look up the accuracy and evasion formula on Steam Guides). 2. He uses Yabusame shot when there are significantly better alternatives that pierce and crit (Gae Bolg, Crit Build Agrat, High Luck Zeus). 3. He uses Murakumo with no crit chance buffs. 4. He doesn't invest into Vitality which is the strongest stat in the game and instead wastes slots on Enduring Soul and covering all resistances he's not weak to. 5. He has no pierce on his evasion Tsukuyomi build, so Blur is useless against anything that blocks light. 6. He runs High Restore on non-crit builds. His only source of crits is Omagatoki Critical of which there are significantly better alternatives like the Nahobino's Omnipotent Succession which quadruples your damage output. And 7th, he doesn't even mention Heavenly Ikuyumi which is the go-to skill for magic builds, and instead uses freaking Moonlight Frost. Heavenly Ikuyumi has 390-power after a debilitate. It's super strong. Now imagine using it with Omnipotent Succession every other turn. The Heavenly Ikuyumi build is the 2nd strongest after the evasion Tsukuyomi build, but the most versatile overall because you don't need to waste slots on 3 critical passives to deal great damage or run Impaler's Animus to pierce resistances. The evasion build is the strongest overall. It messes with the AI because they lose a turn after using an otherwise piercing damage attack, and you are countering with a 300-power piercing attack and getting an extra turn yourself. The 600-power Blur is also insane. The evasion build's main drawback is that its damage output drops significantly against enemies that block light because you will be forced to use Impaler's Animus to deal damage, which cannot stack with Omnipotent Succession.
@@Omar_Al_Seddikyou’re right about everything else but tbf the maths on murakumo with the glee skills doesn’t give you very good odds, so guaranteeing it with critical aura is just straight up better to save slots
Loving the vids honestly! Been a huge help with some of my demons. Though I would like your opinion on something ive been considering with the Nahobino. My current Nahobino bulid is -Murakumo -Energy Drain -Kannabi Veil -Critical Aura -Critical Zealot -Enduring Soul -Almighty Pleroma -High Almighty Pleroma Since I did obtain Demi-Fiends affinites I didnt need to worry about Null Skills I had two slots free. I choosed Critical Aura/Zealot since it was familiar but I plan to go into GodBorn Hard Mode after some more buliding and farming, do you think is a stable bulid? Would you say that its fine to carry the two Critical skills or would I be better off replacing them with something like, High Restore and Murderous Glee?
Murderous Glee is generally only worthwhile if you are using a skill that has innate crit rate built into it such as Freikugel, or have it on a demon that has a trait that gives them a bunch of crit, because otherwise it is only increasing your base crit rate.
As stated in the video, not everyone will have it (when watching the video); I also mention you should use it if you do. I chose not to use it for the video to show how the builds would look when you are forced to use passives to cover weaknesses, since for the majority of players, most of their time with the game will be spent without it. Besides, if I make the video with the Demi-fiend essence, then I'll get a bunch of comments saying, "but what if I don't have it!?".
For the main character you use the Essence Fusion mechanic. It allows you to use a demons essence, which are items you can pick up from treasure, get from quests, or have the demon randomly give it to you when they level up, in order to pass their skills over to the MC.

SJ has better story, 4 has better atmosphere, 5 has better gameplay and exploration and I'm a firm believer that kozuka is a superior composer so 4 and 5 have the best soundtracks to date. Also, none of the smt games have those tiny annoyances that plague nocturne. Sometime I just want to focus on solving the boring dungeon puzzle, not get in another pointless random encounter.
This isn't exactly related to the video topic but.. am I the only one who's incredibly annoyed that you don't end the game with the new design? I mean, other than for story purposes, what was even the point of it if you just finish the game with the original design? Unless I'm missing something and you can get it back??!
@@RozalinGaming Thanks for responding. I gotta say, I'm incredibly disappointed that you can't get it back. I like it a lot more and it really felt like a reward for playing the CoV storyline. Only for it to be taken away at the end.
Impaler is awkward in the build due to the need to maintain other buffs -- you need to use Luminescent Mirage every turn and Fierce Roar every other turn -- so the number of times you actually get to use it is limited. Impaler's is already borderline due to it's buff only being a 1.3x multiplier, but the reduced number of times you can use it makes it even worse than it usually already is. If you wanted a way to attack an enemy that is immune to Light, you'd be better off adding a different offensive skill instead; as long as it deals 30% of Paraselene Blur's damage, it's already better than using Impaler's Animus.
@@blu_sunZ6 if you're going pure strength with the build then Murakumo could be added; if you decide to make it a hybrid phys/magic build you could add either Moonlight Frost or Heavenly Ikuyumi.
*Important notes*
I mentioned this in the video but I’ll mention it again here: all builds in this video have been tested against the challenge mode virtual trainer battles - this includes the entire gauntlet of them - as well as against the super bosses, all on hard mode, in order to verify viability.
But wouldn't Paraselene Blur be absorbed/blocked on enemies who have Drain/Null light?
@@MrTsukihami Of course. In those rare cases you simply function as a normal dodge tank while your other demons finish the encounter or use the demon unlocked from True Neutral ending to give yourself Pierce.
Does that one actually work? I hadnt tested it yet but from what i was reading around it only works on basic attacks, not skills. @RozalinGaming

Excellent video Rozalin!
Just a correction:
Energy Drain is now from Aogami Essence Type-9 🙋♂️
This game has a lot more vareity then base 5 easily which was mostly just crit aura+crit zealot+murakumo abuse. Especially now with stuff like omnipotent succession, paraslene blur, passives, and combo skills
Now you can crit consistently with magic
Almighty as well @@rotonek2887
@@rotonek2887 I couldn't even crits once with Ikuyumi....How did you build your magic crits?
@@fulan6231 who the hell is ikuyumi? To crit you need a demon with passive that allows your magic to crit, and your standard crit passives and luck
@@rotonek2887 not who. It is a magic based skill that does mid to severe almighty damage, the damage scales based on the number of debuffs on the target.
Beelzebub has a trait where its debuffs are doubled if the teammate isn’t a certain race of demon which makes debillitate pretty good
From my experience its been less useful then on paper, simply because the races of demons are the ones that I wind up using the most.
Was running Sakuya, bub and Dagda with a STR MC and didn't run into any issues even through the true ending
My Parasalene Blur build has made Onyankopon a key part of my team. His unique skill of giving taunt to any ally and maximizing their attack allows me to free up a skill slot.
I tried using Onyankopon and absolutely hated it; you gain one skill slot on the MC but end up having to use a rather mediocre demon in the process.
@@RozalinGamingthat’s fair, the only fight I could ever recommend him for would probably be quadistu, nothing else
@@RozalinGamingwe will not tolerate Onyankopon slander :( /j
Parasalene Blur doesn't Pierce then? That is a shame
i really like using mother harlots essence with drain force and repel ice. you reflect phys and ice, drain elec and force, and resist light and dark. that only leaves fire as a neutral element
this does take one extra skill slot as opposed to just covering up naamah's physical weakness, (or is the same if you cover up the light element) but i think this is way better in context of the press turn system
you also null charm and are weak to sleep, but i feel like those rarely matter to me
The extra press turns don't come up anywhere near enough for me to consider Mother Harlot's essence better given you need to use 3 passives instead of 2.
It does, but Impalers Animus and Omnipotent Succession are mutually exclusive which is very annoying
@@RozalinGaming thank you kindly.
Question to everone: Can you farm balms in Vengeance without NG+ run?
As far as Ive known, nope
All boost items and sutras can be purchased on Godborn from Gustave. However, their price is exorbitant. Thankfully, you can farm and sell 100 Glory for 500k
You can get them randomly from demons that talk to you in the demon rest areas, or I believe Queen Mabb in Creation route gives you some incense for giving her more gems after her quest.
But no balms from her.
There is a miracle that let's you ask for an incense when the enemy is cornered, it has given me a balm before that's something
You can collect 200 Minman per run and throughout game with navigators, you will get around 14 balms of each.
just a note about the dodge tank build bc i didnt take in how bad this is until i started using it: paraselene blur DOES NOT PIERCE and none of these builds run impalers animus. the fact that murakumo and moonlight frost is guaranteed damage makes me lean toward those builds a lot more by default
But but... you SHOULD have done this and not that !!!! 😂😅
I really like the Dogde-Tank build but it sucks that it goes down the drain once the enemy nulls/drains light
Does the Murakumo Strength build still hold up?
Murakumo is still fine but it's behind magic now with the new skills and significantly behind the dodge build. Basically Murakumo is fine for all the content that was part of the original game, but starts to feel underpowered when tackling new content/Godborn which was clearly designed with the new skills in mind.
I was waiting for this!! Thanks!
Is there a particular reason to go with Null? Or is there no Drain/Repel Phys here in SMTV?
Null's are easier to get and while Drain/Repels are technically better, the difference is negligible.
At the moment my nahobino is using:
Inflaming divinity, murakumo, divine arrowfall, almighty pieroma, boon boost, mediarama.
Moonlight Frost
High Ice pleroma
Ice pleroma
Null Fire ( using Vishnu essence)
Enduring Soul
Kannabi Veil ( or intercalation )
Elusive Eclipse
Luminescent Mirage
I want to also try the Heavenly Ikuyumi build on a different playthrough, wthe skill itself is Almighty that does medium to severe damage.

Demi fiends fight requires more strategy for that specific fight than just a generic build. You want a good strategy going in. A support build might work but tbh I found from being able to consistently beat rhe demi fiend on hard, you want the protag as a dps
curious if your going for a showcase of the late game demon builds and the healer and buff/debuffer comparisons (ie idun and the new dlc demon and cleo vs other)

Edit: nevermind, Trumpeter Nulls Light and Darkness, but doesn't have more resistences anymore, Trumpeter had more resistences in the original Shin Megami Tensei V, but he doesn't have them anymore
I have a question, do you know how Arahabaki Innate Skill work?
Arahabaki's Innate Skill applies whatever affects he currently has on him (buffs/debuffs, taunt, charge/concentrate, even Omagatoki effects) onto any demon you switch into the field as long as Arahabaki is on your current party.
The skill description implies that any affects he puts on himself will also apply to your party as well, but that is a mistranslation, and the actual effects are on the paragraph above.
I wanna ask something, which stat should i go to increase critical chance? Agility or luck?
it would be luck actually
Does having a +9 phys stat help with Murakumo? Or just Almighty?
Yes. Increasing skill potential not only lowers the MP cost of skills associated with that potential's element, it also increases their potency.
Is agility worth investing in as a stat? I think i remember people calling it useless when smt v initially released, but i might be misremembering.
It's main functions are to increase dodge chance and hit rate. Whether or not it's worthwhile for dodge depends on your build, but personally I like hitting my enemies so I always invest in it and have never regretted it.
For 4 you could use onokopon with his unique skill that can add aggro to a different character
@@RozalinGaming yeah I know I was just saying it is technically an option
I’m curious, what’s your opinion on Heavenly Ikuyumi in a magic build?
My current Nahobino bulid is
-Murakumo
-Energy Drain
-Kannabi Veil
-Critical Aura
-Critical Zealot
-Enduring Soul
-Almighty Pleroma
-High Almighty Pleroma
Since I did obtain Demi-Fiends affinites I didnt need to worry about Null Skills I had two slots free.
Murderous Glee is generally only worthwhile if you are using a skill that has innate crit rate built into it such as Freikugel, or have it on a demon that has a trait that gives them a bunch of crit, because otherwise it is only increasing your base crit rate.
why not demi fiend essence? it would make room for more skills
@@RozalinGaming fair enough, sorry
Dodge tank build sounds right up my alley, high risk high return
Appreciate the video but how do you actually build these I am a new player
For the main character you use the Essence Fusion mechanic. It allows you to use a demons essence, which are items you can pick up from treasure, get from quests, or have the demon randomly give it to you when they level up, in order to pass their skills over to the MC.
@@RozalinGaming Are the builds in this video optimal from the beginning to the end of the game preferably on the COC route?
There are so many builds online but it never really goes into detail about the process of the build from LVL 3 to MAX
I think that's the SMT V video people are waiting on
Do you know of any potential online resources that could point me in the right direction so I can learn more about building the MC or any playable demon?
@@AlexTheMan8393 the reason you don't see build guides going over the process from the beginning of the game to the end is because your build changes so much as you level up, especially for the first half of the game; that and builds for the MC don't really matter all that much until you are in the later stages of the game to begin with.
How and where do you get moonlight frost?
Tsukuyomi starting essence, defeat quadistu at vengeance canon, reborn as purple nahobino and meat woman in diet bilding, she give you essence for free.
Whats your konohana build?
hey Rozalin are the DLC side quest worth it?
mainly they're story, is it good enough for the price
Story-wise I would say definitely not.
How can I get High Restore on Nahobino?
Tsukiyomi
does anyone know how to get the heavenly ikumi skill?
It's from Aogami Type-D.
I once said "fuck internet build! I will learn by myself!"
Today, most of my favorite builds that I have come up with are also builds that got popular to cheese the game. 😂
How do you get moonligt frost
Canon of Vengeance exclusive essence for the MC.
Drain move/s in smt games:🗿🗿🗿🗿🗿
Drain move/s in persona games:💩💩💩💩💩💩💩💩
What essence did you use for the build?
0:35 -- All builds shown used Naamah's essence.
I dont have any demons that have null phys null light @@RozalinGaming
@@unknown97428 You can always use resists instead until you get them.
@RozalinGaming I mean I don't know what demon essence I need to get that skill but I do like watching your demon build sadly nobody's else do demon builds for the new demons
@@unknown97428 Resist Phys: Glasya-Labolas, Khonsu, Cerberus, Futsunushi, Aogami Type-D
Null Phys: Ongyo-Ki, Khonsu Ra, Dagda
Resist Light: Ame-no-Uzume, Jack Frost, Alice, Mishaguji, Azazel
Null Light: Garuda, Nebiros, Norn, Cherub
You can always see what essences and skills they have from the Essence screen; I believe it is the Triangle button on PS5 at least.
If you're a masochist you can use demi-fiends essence on the paraselene blur build and make it way safer.
It wouldn't matter if the enemy repels light as a repelled attack goes through resistances. So Using PB against an enemy who repels light will make you take twice the damage and if you boosted its power fully, will most likely kill you.
😄👍 This is super helpful! Liked and Subbed. Also, as a side note; The way you pronounce 'Kannabi' is phonetically pleasing lol 😄
@@matticus9832 it's a Japanese term and since I speak Japanese I pronounce it how it would be in Japanese.
@@RozalinGaming It's the double N, from what I recall; double letters in Japanese are said with a double beat (Kan-Nabi) as opposed to English (Kanabi) 🤔 I think that is what I read. Your videos are amazing btw, learning alot 😄👍
@@matticus9832 Yep. Double letters indicate holding the syllable out for one beat.
I haven't seen usage of Heavenly ikuyumi online so I was wondering if you have tested the skill during your playtime. The description seemed interesting but I wasn't sure if it was good or not
From what I tried, it seems that Murakumo still out-preforms it, even with a fully debuffed enemy.
I was very underwhelmed with Ikuyumi. Against a fully debuffed enemy it was barely beating Moonlight Frost in damage. If the enemy dispells themselves then Ikuyumi falls of a cliff.
@@RozalinGaming It's sad. Such a good skill animation.
WOW, LOOK AT THIS AMOUNT OF PASSIVE SKILLS
I belive those who start this series in V the hydra boss will be their first wall
V is very punishing for your mistakes
But I still enjoy nocturne more than V
Also its will be also nice to explain fusion system in V where theres reverse fusion for newcomers
Great video
I just can't go back & play Nocturne anymore. The boring dungeon design of just long hallway mazes & frequent random encounters (not to mention the HD version just doesn't look/run well), and I'd take Vengeance over it any day.
But to each their own!
@@corey2232
Vengeance is just open map. It getting tedious and boring quick. Yes, nocturne has high encounter rate but it better than V in term of atmosphere and music and story.
@kg888 atmosphere, sure. Everything else about nocturne is horrible these days. Despite being my first smt game and getting me addicted to the series, it's my least favorite today.
I would have liked the ability to choose at the very least.
@@RozalinGaming Thanks for responding. I gotta say, I'm incredibly disappointed that you can't get it back. I like it a lot more and it really felt like a reward for playing the CoV storyline. Only for it to be taken away at the end.
Murakumo is THAT SKILL
Pls do a konohana build vid
Shouting out to Rozalin Gaming for failing his life just to bring us these guides way before anyone else. Gotta be my favourite gender. 🙏 insha'Allah
that murakumo pronunciation killed me💀

Jojo reference
If you are referring to the name, it's a Yakuza series reference based on a meme in my chat, not a Jojo one.
@@RozalinGaming Sounds like a Jojo reference to me
@@FromTheSkylessVoid It 100% isn't.
@@RozalinGaming Is that a Jojo reference?
@@FromTheSkylessVoid Sigh, no, it's not. I don't watch Jojo and think it sucks.
I think i may have misunderstood the paraselene blur build… i will be tweaking this to to run impaler animus🥲
@@RozalinGaming thank you, would something like freikugal or murakumo be good options being that the build already has high strength and agility?
@@blu_sunZ6 if you're going pure strength with the build then Murakumo could be added; if you decide to make it a hybrid phys/magic build you could add either Moonlight Frost or Heavenly Ikuyumi.
