      Really interesting. I found the explanation for the low lunge most useful because sometimes I have doubts regarding either sinking into the pose, pulling my tailbone down or even square the hips... what I got from your explanation is that it depends on the kind of practice you're having - so, either form is ok but must be appropriate to the practice of the day (sinking for Yin Vs activating/squaring hips/tailbone down for a more Yang practice)? Thanks for this video :)

      Yes exactly! It will also vary based on who you're studying with and in what style :)

    Kassandra thank you for your classes. I have been following your 30 day challenge for two weeks and they have been a great way to reintroduce yoga into my exercise regime. With lower back , knee, shoulder and neck pain, I gave up on yoga 2 years ago and focused on strength training, (but still have the lower back pain and neck issues). However, during quarantine, I stubbled across you videos and I'm feeling positive results from them. My flexibility needs a lot of work and this video explains the exercises with such clarity, I feel as if I will now achieve the flexibility I desire. Thanks

    I am like super super weak and super stiff in my hips. I can't even do the beginner level stuff you say in this video. But this has been the first day (January 4th) I tried it. I will work on it everyday morning and evening for 5-10 min and let's see where we at in December. I will come back to this video for sure at the end of this year. Cheers!

    • @lauraschofield5892
      @lauraschofield5892 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      My thought is MINIMUM 30 seconds in order to outsmart the 'stretch reflex' which can negate any muscle lengthening benefit, rather firing it up and further tightening it. In my practice I always suggest 40 or 45 seconds but no less than 30.

    You are so beautiful and an absolute sweetheart! For a year now I have done on of your yin yoga videos almost every night before bed, alternating my favorite ones. I love that you have so many! I have noticed a big difference in my hip and psoas mobility and even the overall shape of my lower body is changing and I am so happy. So glad I found your channel. Namaste!

    I love all of those asanas. My hips tend to be tighter in the front, so I practice a lot of Lizard and low lunge asanas. I also teach Yoga, but I speak English as a second language so I really appreciate your verbal cues🤸‍♀️

    My question is what to do afterward, I have this awkward feeling when walking, laying in bed or even just standing. Should I do it daily or twice a week or...? I'm rather new to stretching so I don't know if there is a recovery time or not.

    Sounds like basic hip openers to me. Though far from my favourite since I started folding forward in double pigeon or fire log pose I'm now sometimes able to get into lotus without using my hands, just a personal anecdote I always thought it was never going to happen...

    -good stuff but your sanskrit prn's are not correct...knee extended over the ankle will create knee issues in the long run so that is a definite NO NO..
    the stress for asana is A-sana not a-SAN-a ; i would love to coach you, if you are interested :)
