  • Do your hard boiled eggs stick to the shell? Everything you’ve read about how to prevent torn up whites is usually a fail? That’s because it’s all wrong! 😱
    Do you start with cold eggs and cold water? NOPE. Submerging in ice water after cooking? NOPE. Add vinegar to the water? Baking soda? Both of those … BIG FAT NOPES.
    Here’s the sweet little egg-cellent secret that took me WAY too long to learn. With Easter coming … you NEED this hack that is pretty darned foolproof. Once you try it you’ll be a peeling pro!

    i actually steamed a recent batch of eggs, for pickled eggs. first time trying to steam them. my steamer was able to hold 18 eggs in a single layer, bring water to a boil first then add steam basket with eggs let steam for 17 min when they are close to done i took a large bowl big enough for the steam basket to sit in put a few handfuls of ice in and filled up with cold water. once the 17min is up take the basket out put directly into the ice water let set for 5 min or so then pull the basket out put a cover on it and give the basket with the eggs a good shake some of mine literally peeled themselves and those that didn't were about the easiest eggs i've ever peeled in my life!

      Hi Connie .. so sorry I didn’t see this sooner! Sure!! You can peel them right after boiling and put them in an airtight baggie or container to use later. You can also just stick them in the refrigerator after boiling, with the peel on. They will still peel easily for many days to come whenever you want one. Either way works!

      Oh gosh! I’m sorry it didn’t work. I don’t think you have to wait that long. Probably just a few days even would make a big difference. I get eggs from a farm near me and they are very fresh. It usually works even with those. Commercial eggs are different though so yes, perhaps wait a bit and try again. Please let me know!

    Who puts eggs in a fridge...so dumb

    • @lindalandisafewgoodthings5356
      @lindalandisafewgoodthings5356  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Dave! Granted, yard eggs which have not been washed and still retain the “bloom“ from the laying process can be safely kept at room temperature for a VERY long while. Unfortunately, commercially farmed eggs are washed and processed removing protective bloom from the hens, so they don’t last as long. Refrigeration is encouraged to preserve the life of commercial eggs. So, in answer to your question: most people keep eggs in the fridge.

    • @davefinn3526

      @@lindalandisafewgoodthings5356 must be an American thing. I was brought up on a farm,we never kept eggs in a fridge. I suppose let people do what they want.

      @lindalandisafewgoodthings5356  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@davefinn3526 Hi Dave. Actually lots of Americans who live on farms don’t refrigerate their eggs. It’s just what happens of necessity when eggs are commercially produced. They don’t last as long because of the processing and therefore refrigeration is suggested for preservation…even in other countries.
