    I love the wholesome relationship Miles has with his loving parents. I appreciate them showing that when you’re 14-15, you’re still very young and there’s nothing embarrassing about needing your parents for emotional support and comfort. This is especially important for black and brown kids to see, as they tend to be forced to grow up much quicker by society which push them to take on adult responsibilities much quicker than others.

    I love this explanation. Also, in Puerto Rico when a woman gets married she keeps her last name. Their kids inherit both both last name, traditionally his name should be Miles Davis Morales. But there have been cases of people switching the order to keep a last name life.
    I believe Miles full name is Miles Morales Davis (maybe a second name cause fitting)

    • @yanverse1710
      @yanverse1710 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Chadius_Thundercock hispanics names usually have the name, a middle name (optional) and then the fathers first surname followed by the mothers first surname (traditianally, now the order of the surnames can change if you want to).
      And your kids follow the same formula, so only the first last name gets passed down from you

    Jefferson also changed His Last Name to Morales in the Movie Continuity. Essentially leaving that life behind and intending to have a clean step forward. You can see His name tag saying "Jefferson Morales" in the scene with Miles' Principal(?)

    Jefferson tells Miles he has his mother's surname because Jefferson's physically abusive father was "not a good person" and not having his grandfather's name gave Miles a "clean start".
    "So they adopted Miles' mom aka Rio Morales' family name."

    Its common for hispanic families, some people prefer to not take their spouses last name, but still married, and can either one- give one of the parents last names or 2- both. Could also tie with the whole crime thing as well, I am puertorican and i have both my parents last names since my mother didn’t take my dad’s last name
