Hi,
1. Yes, it can be. For instance even in Oracle there is a team for blockchain. And I believe some other companies might also be working on it.
2. But coming to Web/App development, it is undoubtedly in most demand. All most every Tech companies have opening for this profile.
So, finally it depends on you. The one which interest's you.
