    R32K CTC for an engineer that's crazy, electricians earn way more than that in most places. You have a vast experience though. I believe to earn the most money is by become an automation/control systems engineer where you program PLCs or robots in the entry level. Being a data scientist sounds cool though.

  • @vuyomonono5205

    Hi Unathi, I really hope you'll see and answer this. I'm currently stuck between choosing between two choices, a learnership focusing on Software Engineering & one focusing on Data Engineering. I think I fall mostly into the Data Engineering as I was generally very good in anything Data related more than Software. My qualification btw is a Dip in Information Technology in Software Development.
    1. Will I be able to reach this goal without furthering my studies?
    2. Will getting the required or rather the suited certificates for this stream be enough?
    Lastly, I heard you speak about wanting to be under the financial world, & seeing that I also want that too, would you mind giving me tips & any advice on that? More specially on ways to be different in my interviews(first interview ever) in convincing them I'm capable? Shuuu I hope you'll see this.

  • @penda3274
    @penda3274 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I'm stuck between architecture and computer science. Every time I lean to computer science my brain tells me architecture is the right choice cause we going to need architects in the future, but every time I lean to architecture I see videos of how computer science(software engineer) is the future . Now I don't know any more must I do architecture first the computer science or the other way around

    • @unathimatu
      @unathimatu  2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Honestly bro only you can make that decision for yourself but if you going to make your decision purely based on statistics then just know that the number of Architecture Jobs in SA are shrinking while Jobs in Needing a computer science degree are increasing at a rapid pace with more demand than supply.

    • @blakasmurf
      @blakasmurf ปีที่แล้ว

      @@unathimatu Uh, I wouldn't make the decision based on what I THINK is "future" and what other people think. Remember you've got to do that job day after day after day. Sooner or later if it's not what you want to do you're going to feel miserable and want to move onto what you want to do. When I was doing jobs I didn't care about I would take a pay cut to do something I enjoyed

A bsc information systems or bsc informatics guys?(Please beware im not referring to the Bcom information systems, but rather the Bsc information systems!?) ..further more does your software engineering career only entail working with programs day and night, be it testing them, or programming them, etc? I’m doing Computer Science and want to be able to tap into the tech and finance space. I’ve come to learn how these spaces overlap but the specific fields are what I wanna get a solid understanding on.
    Quantitative analysts and cybersecurity analysts, do you have adequate info on those fields? Also can I have more info on vac work in either finance or tech.

      Awesome man, I’m happy that you enjoyed the Video. So the music can be found on epidemicsounds.com lol ironic I know.
      With regards to Being a Quant, I can certainly tell you that you on the right path but you will need to couple your CS degree with a Finance master’s if you want to accelerate your career. I recommend looking into UCTs MPhil in Mathematical Finance degree as an option its 1 year degree but after obtaining it you can certainly call yourself a Quant or even go directly into investment banking. Its an amazing Degree unfortunately you need a certain grade in your honours to qualify for it.
