    Hey PBKreviews I recently dropped my note 10 in a drain while it was flowing and I was wondering if it the phone could survive? When I checked the phone I found that the ports was fairly dry and had no water on them however the S-pen was wet and the S-pen compartment was also wet. Is there an opening on the S-pen compartment that might leak onto the board? If so, how long should I leave it to dry or is it just doomed? Sorry for asking a long question

    at 00:35 of the video, you show the inside of the backcover which shows a texture that resembles wireless charging. Is there some way to install wireless charging coil on the back, and some possible connector for it? In other words, is it possible to add aftersales wireless charging capability?

    • @PBKreviews
      @PBKreviews  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, it's not a wireless charging coil on the back plate. You can add aftermarket wireless charging, but it would be one that is attached to the outer back of the phone and connects through your charging port. There would be no connector internally to connect to etc.

      Most of the time those cables are used for the antennas (sending signal from lower half antennas to the main board) if I am not mistaken, but I have also seen those type of cables used for touch capacitive keys on sides of phones and other things.

    • @PBKreviews

      You're welcome. You need to remove the back plate, then unscrew the screws on the top portion to remove the top black plastic cover and then disconnect the battery cable and the other cable running over the battery. Then you can heat up the adhesive on the battery with a hair dryer by applying the heat from the screen side and then pry the old battery off.

      @PBKreviews  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@janw1982 The old adhesive might hold if it's not tampered with too much but if it's not holding you can apply a new adhesive tape. You can check if there are pre cut ones online (usually sold with back plates) or you can by a roll and cut yourself. But keep in mind it wont be an air tight seal as before unless you purchase a backplate with precut and pre installed adhesive to ensure a strong seal.

    • @PBKreviews

      @@janw1982 no you wont damage the screen as long as your not overdoing it, just use a hair dryer (safer than a heat gun) but don't hold it on one area the whole time. Move it around and gently warm it up a bit, you don't need to over do it. You can heat it up a bit and try prying and apply more heat as needed through the process gently to loosen up the adhesive.

      There might be corrosion inside over the chips on the board or connectors which is shorting something. You would need to take it apart, dry out any water, brush off any corrosion on chips or connectors with a tooth brush, and put the phone back together to see if it will work. If not, you would have to either replace the screen or there might be damage to the board that is not user fixable.

      @@PBKreviews I opened mine up because it was splashed. . . The phone worked but was sluggish for about 5 hours until the battery died. Now it won't power on at all. . . After I opened it there was no sign of corrosion. I used 99 percent alcohol to clean and put it back together. . . Still nothing. . . Any ideas?

    Do you notice any sort of rubber that protects the phone from water?

      There are some here and there. I would presume it would be minor splash proof but don't think it would survive being dunked in water. Not sure though.

      @@PBKreviews Interesting. There's no ip rating, but this would suggest they made an attempt at at least basic splash resistance... assuming all other entry ports also have something.

      @@MariuszMazur ya, happens many times that phones dont officially get an ip rating but still have some water resistance

      Ya it is a good solid build. I would say its a better build than most in the same tier.
