    Doug,
i have a brand new power steering pump for a 2009 subaru forester 4 cylinder.
    DO YOU WANT IT ?
you are always helping other, i would love to help you. It is just sitting on my shelf and i will NEVER own another subaru
(edit; now i am not sure if they are the same pump)
I would also love to see your opinions and knowledge of stop-leak and additives stuff

Yea bud. I would happily buy it from you.

@@DEInTheGarage i'm not sure they are the same. the amazon parts finder makes it look like they are not compatible (but i never really trust amazon)
you have given us so much awesome content, I will happily give you this pump (assuming the cost of shipping it half way up the east coast is not totally astronomical). i paid $140 for the pump and painted it flat black, and now it has just been taking up room on my shelf for several years now. i ended up just flushing the pump a few times and that fixed my problem. ill never own another subaru, my wife has had 2, but never again.. comfy cars, just too way problematic
just let me know how i can contact you without leaving personal information on public comment section. (I do not have face book or any other social media)

TIP: keep the old belt in the trunk as an emergency backup

That is the kind of trick only experience teaches!

Ya I keep them around because ya you aren't really going anywhere if the belt breaks or gets tore up I mean usually there will be some other issue but still

    • @MrMrsregor
      @MrMrsregor 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@james10739 yes, very true. i just carry it for a piece of mind, because it doesn't take up much room and i always travel into remote areas without cell signal or other vehicles
but i have seen a stick pop up and cut a belt while off-roading

Great video bud I would have done this the exact same way you just did process of elimination start with a flush first fresh fluid and preventative maintenance with a new belt

You just need some Armor all and spray down your belts on both sides and may need two applications but works like a dream and is good for the belts .

Good video, I use lubegard power steering fluid.. it has stopped noise in many pumps and is good fluid in general.

Hey bud - you mentioned using Lucas in the 4.0 . Could you do a before and after video looking at not just the noise but oil pressure and temps. I've been using a 10W40 and nearly needing a 50 in summer so Lucas could be the key.

I'm confused ( NOT UNUSUAL ) Why didn't you remove said belt & check the Power Steering Pulley for play or see if it's turning freely ? That would have been my first move after checking belt tightness & fluid level. Did it still squeal after the THICK LUCAS STUFF ? Thanks for the vid., LOVES ROO'S & JEEP'S, WELL OLDER JEEP'S.

Lucas trans fix and Lucas power steering fix are the exact same product (100% heavy viscosity oil) nothing else... Go look at the MSDS pdf for each product...

I find it super corny how you walk away from the camera as if you're going inside.. Tryhard filming and way too much begging on the on the subscription part. Get a grip
