Well, this is revealing! We all know about Tommy telling jokes and performing magic but who knew he was an ace impressionist ? The way he portrayed a young Sacha Distel @ 1'10 and that ragged Scottish Actor: Russell Hunter @ 1'30 is uncanny😀
One of a generation of performers who started in the military. Many of them mentally damaged by their war service and no help with their mental problems and who turned to drink to cope with the memories.
Why have you put a photograph of Sasha Distel the French singer on this upload? Have you made a misteke in selecting the correct photo of Tommy Cooper as a young man?
Tommy Cooper was one of a kind. Truly unique. He didn't copy anyone as he didn't need to. He was good at taking the mickey out of himself. His goofing around with his magic tricks was sensational. The Indian rope trick that wouldn't work out. The outlandish props that broke the audience up without a word being said. The fez evoked laughter again and again. Then he'd follow this up with a genuine trick that thrilled everyone. Like the bottles multiplying. Who cares if he wasn't tee total? Who cares if he wasn't perfect? He was TOMMY COOPER!!!
I used to know a sound engineer who worked with Tommy at Thames TV. He told me that they always had to send a car to pick him up, otherwise he would not get past the first pub.
Actors and performers are human just the same as social media users so why do we not expect these entertainers to be different from the rest of us? Tommy Cooper made most people laugh even though he was imperfect in other areas of his life. I have inherited some of my parents bad points but also some of their good ones. None of us is perfect but generally we manage to get along with each other alright.
Comedy comes from a dark place in many peoples life. Myself living with parents who was also alcoholic you learn to pick the good times over the not so good times. Myself today I still think Tommy Cooper was and will be one of the UK greats of all time
Same for all. So what ? I said to the gym instructor: ‘Can you teach me to do the splits?’ He said: ‘How flexible are you?’ I said: ‘I can’t make Tuesdays’.”
I remember we were watching the night he collapsed on stage and was confused what was going on and then after live at her majesty's finished Trevor Mcdonald announced that Tommy Cooper had died and was in tears
I am a straight 69-year-old Londoner but if there was one guy that I would have loved to have been then it was French Singer: Sacha Distel. Woman used to feint when admiring his Beauty, which is not a word that is, usually, used to describe a Man and yet here he is SUPPOSED to be Tommy Cooper @ 1.10.😀 and this pictureure does not begin to do him justice hence someone thinking he was Tommy! Immediately, afterwards there is a picture of ragged Scottish Actor: Russell Hunter who the narrator ALSO thinks is Tommy. HILARIOUS

No it doesn't , to me Tommy Cooper was one of the best British entertainers. He made the majority of people laugh even royalty, when he died he left a great legacy.

Actually, they're interchangeable: Normalcy and normality both mean the quality or condition of being normal, especially in the context of the general state of things, as in It was a welcome return to normalcy/normality after such a chaotic period.
So what was the daughter's revelation, why highlight the video with a none event,, it's a reasonable video, although it shows some film of two comediams early in the video, neither are in fact Tommy cooper

I agree. I can think of 20 British Comedians that I finf hilarious and about 6 that I have never smiled at and Tommy joins Johnny Vegas, Jo Brand, and others in that category:)
My aunt was in the audience when he died on stage and when the curtin closed with hi feet sticking out she sead to her husband also a doctor that's not part of the act she was correct as a few minutes later a women came and asked for a doctor , as he was trying to fight for his life behind the Curtain

I thought the same.Maybe Sasha was his father ?😂😂😂

First Sacha Distel ,immediately, followed by Scottish Actor,Russell Hunter, again supposed to be Tommy:)
@@Isleofskye looked like it could be old clip from "Callan" Russell Hunter as lonely looks nothing like tommy ...

Tommy Cooper’s daughter “breaks her silence” well, I didn’t hear her 😳
I think there was a mention at 5.50 that he drank a lot and life at home was difficult....otherwise clickbait I'm afraid.
probably too busy counting his money.

Tommy's personal life is nothing to do with anyone else . So he had struggles , he was human . Still miss him . Wonderful entertainer , very funny .
So sad. One minute he was here, the next he was gone.
Just like that.
Not like that, like that!

Not many people can die and then be in tears as well. Another of Tommy's magic tricks.
I like the "his real name" bit.... Thomas Cooper. 😀
I met one of his friends…she and her husband used to meet tommy and his wife socially in London.(.my claim to fame..)

Is this an AI voice or an American? Either way, it has no place in this video.
So us Americans cant enjoy Tommy Cooper?? I love British humor!
@@piscesempress1978 my apologies. I had no idea Mr Cooper’s brand of hilarity had made it across the pond!

I saw Tommy Cooper live, he was funny but it was also sad, in a nightclub environment it was blatantly clear to me that he was more drunk than I was.

Tommy Cooper, whose real name was Tommy Cooper.
He would have liked that one himself.
Don’t remember him on the morecombe and wise show
If you look at the picture of him @1' 10 then it might jog your memory.

There is no such word in the English language as 'normalcy'. The word is 'normality'!!!

Nice video but the title is a clickbait.
Nothing new here……he was a comedian, he was married with kids, had a mistress and a problem with alcohol. That’s pretty much it……fascinating.
Clickbait..

I did nt find him funny at all how did Tommy cooper die just like that
🤔 Maybe next time you might bother to watch the video first, to actually find out why !!..
