His voice is beautiful, so is Annie's!! I loved this group when I was a teen. Annie's songs are amazing, and the three of them together, ridiculously perfect harmonies!
I saw 2nd Chapter in the Auckland Town hall, N.Z, loved them, bought practically all their albums, still love their music,my favorite was/is Singer Sower (which I bought just from the album cover picture alone).. I have to say their concert was more of a worship service, outstanding Christian message and music.
OMG this must be like angels sound. I've been listening to them for the last 40 years (almost daily) and the still are my favorite band. For me they're perfect and Matthews singing is out of this world and in perfect harmony with his sisters.
Nelly’s warm balancing harmonies are so well blended, I think, she is often not recognized. Hearing this taped very nice live rendition makes me appreciate the beauty of the recording engineering by Buck. Those albums were beautifully crafted. Thank you Lord for setting them free and using them to tell a LOT of us about You,☝️, Heavenly Father.
That's cool. It wasn't until I saw this video that I really noticed how Annie and Nelly's voices are the same. I read they are practically indistinguishable. Now I believe it, although Nelly's voice sounds slightly deeper here. Makes me wonder how many other songs I've heard where I mistook Nelly for Annie. Hmmm.
This was one song out of an entire evening of concert ministry that 2nd Chapter of Acts did. I have the entire concert on VHS tape as aired back in May 1987. This was held at the now defunct PTL's Heritage USA in Fort Mill, South Carolina .. most providentially only about three weeks after the scandal involving PTL's founder Jim Bakker and his tryst with Jessica Hahn. I am sure the audience there direly needed their ministry.
If there is any way you can, could you at least try? Live performances of 2nd Chapter are sorely missing. Maybe you could just post the entire video? It would be so appreciated by those who have never seen them live. Thank you in advance for your consideration. Their music is SO NEEDED today. :) God bless.
The revelation was unfolding. You could sense the people just drinking in and hanging on to every word of encouragement they offered .. and the raw confusion and pain they felt, even as you watched TV.
One other thing is that when Jerry Falwell Sr. Came in he thought it was just a pastor involved in adultery. It proved to be much more of a problem with financial mismanagement including the impossible promise of future hotel stays for like life. I am sure at the time the Second Chapter had no idea how bad it was going to come out.
Another way to think of the timing of this song at Heritage USA was it was an encouragement to the staff at PTL to not take the easy way with and as more sin and hypocrisy was exposed. Hopefully this encouragement affected at least some of the staff there.
Music from heaven period!!!
This is truly the best Christian band of all time.
Most underrated also.
100,000,000,000,000 Amen's.
Matthew, Matthew, Matthew.....unbelievable. One of the most under-recognized vocal talents of all time.
Much true servants of God will be suppressed by the main stream it seems
Matthew is awesome.
Seriously one of the BEST modern Christian singers of all time.
I am so blessed to have been listening to their angelic voices since my young teenage years!
Oh I loved you all so much and your music, still do
All 3 each had unique and beautiful voices
This group marks my childhood a lot and how beautiful all the songs are ✨✨❤

If only I had had the privilege of meeting them back then. But what can I say?
Love

I was never a Matthew award solos fan, but together... yeah it was great!

There's significant overlap, but Annie's voice is grittier. The smooth vocal is Nellie.
Het blijft een prachtig lied!,,
They never needed to lip synch.

make my life a prayer to you by second chapter of acts
Do you have the other performance(s) from this day to post? Do you know what other songs they sang?

I am however, not making any plans to post any more of these only because of time. I just do not have the time.

Interesting place they were performing. This must have been like right after Jim Bakker’s sin was exposed.

Way before by at least a decade....
@@marklam8548 May 1987 was right when all this was coming out about PTL a and Jim Bakker. The same time 2nd Chapter of Acts performed.
It's Christian ABBA!
