- Howdy! This is the follow up to my video on Canadian National's 'Fallen Flag' Roads. This time, we're shining the spotlight on the few recent fallen flags of the CP Rail System. Here are some of my catches of SOO, D&H, DM&E and even StL&H catches from as far back as 2014 to the present day in mid 2023! These are all the catches I could actually FIND, lol. Some catches, notably one of a SOO 'bandit' (former Milwaukee Road) MP15AC and SOO 6062 still in Candy Apple Red from early 2014, and probably a few others here and there, are lost to time sadly.
CP's fallen flags would be even harder to re-shoot, as the number of units in OG paint schemes is WAY lower than CN's roads. There is currently one singular D&H painted locomotive in active service, 7304 in Vancouver (now that 7303 is gone after it's derailment and fuel tank puncture), There are

The D&H 7303 was assigned to my hometown of Plattsburgh, NY from around 2016 to early 2018. Growing up on the former D&H it gave me a rare connection to the fallen flag, despite growing up in the CP era. I produced a video about those childhood memories and 7303 not long ago.
Great video. Not going to lie, the thumbnail pic was messing with my head until i realized that it was a split photo.
Great video mate!
Fantastic videos! I have enjoyed it. This brings back memories.
hello the winnipeg railfan it's is randy and i like yours video is cool thanks friends randy
lets go
Brandon
Great video but you missed a railway it’s called Essquilmalt and Nanaimo based in B.C CP owns their motive power and pretty much the entire thing
9:26 not exactly, CP is still a thing, they just acquired KCS however CP is treating it like a merger, however KCS got bought out so KCS is considered a fallen flag
First and love this series
CP Rail is not a fallen flag railroad, KCS was perused by CPR then when then when the first take over bid by CPR was rejected Canadian National expressed interest in taking them over until their bid was rejected. Finally CPR's bid was accepted and all rail operations are centralized just east of Calgary Canada.
CP itself should be on this list as technically it too is a fallen flag
Railway is a Term used by Train Companies within the British Commonwealth. Railroad is a Term used by American Train Companies.
No Milwaukee Road units
Technically there's two here, MILW 193 and 209 are DME 6359 and 6370, but yeah I wish MILW painted ones like SOO 2010 were still on the active roster, lol.
Any signs of Dominion Atlantic, Quebec Central, Texas Mexican, TFM or N de M?
I did actually see an FCP hopper car (with TFM reporting marks) all the way up here a couple of weeks ago!
Soo line 4448 disapered a few months ago, not sure what happend to it?
4448 left Winnipeg March 2022, I think it was sold off, not sure where to exactly.
