Joe, you always do a great job and add some humor to the reviews. You can no longer get a manual transmission unless you buy the Premium hatchback. Only one model has the manual and MSRP starts at $28,795 if you choose polymetal gray or jet black. Other colors available at a small price increase.
I love Mazda, in fact, 2 days ago I bought a CX-5 Sport. It has the same power train as this 3 and works great. But the most impressive thing is the high level of safety equipment and value for your money.
Seriously, how frequently do you open and close the hood to wear out the struts? I've never had the struts fail on any of the hatchbacks I've owned, and the hatch is opened and closed several times a day.
Got a white select Mazda 3 about 2 months ago. Love it but I wish I got the heated power seats and the Bose sound system but was a little too much. Still a great car so far. Great video Joe!
I have the 2020 Mazda 3 preferred, Bose speakers and heated seats, honestly even without those features I’d still get this car, amazing quality and handles amazing, absolutely best car for the price, the speakers are nice but I promise you’re not missing out THAT much, still an amazing car
I’d SO get this in a heartbeat! Far superior to a Civic and Corolla. The new Corolla looks weird and tacky outside (like many new Toyota’s), the Civic good car but too boring. Mazda has really shaped up these days.
I do miss that from my CX5 - it was silky beige (almost white) like the parchment color. A Touring trim color only. My new 20 3 has a black interior and it’s pretty dark... lot less window space than other Mazdas. Do ya have greige in your 3?

It was kind of my christmas present to me, though actually I'd been looking at Mazdas for almost a year now and just thought I'd wait until the 2021's came out to pull the trigger. My dad was a big Mazda fan and owned 3's going back roughly 10 years. What I love about Mazda compared to ANY other vehicle on the road today is the level of sophistication. I think this is reflected in every aspect of the Mazda 3 from in-vehicle driver features to the exterior body shape & color and everything in-between. It's difficult at times to maintain the level of owner maturity on the road when challenged by other vehicles. Every Mazda3 owner will attest to the fact that the most common rivals, especially Hona Civics and Nossan Altimas will challenge us to a race at any given opportunity. Those drivers get a rise in beating up their cars, wasting their gas and rapid accelerations. I get a rise in caring for my car, saving my gas, knowing that if I really cared to, I could bury them on a hot second, that is IF I didn't care for the care of my vehicle. Just looking at the unique shape of the Mazda3 leaves mo doubt why other drivers appear to have such a need to act as if they were on the Daytona 500. I've had a 2023 Nissan Murano rental for the past week as I fell victim to the much-feared exploding sunroof epidemic. I can't say it drives bad. But it doesn't impart the level of satisfaction as does the Mazda3. And for all the complaining I've read about the iActiveSense with Mazda, let me say, as compared to Nissan, it is exponentially better. While Mazda may respond close to a painted line, Nissan doesn't respond until you are on, and frequently, over the line. I've taken the past week just to compare. You can't beat Mazda. Not by a long shot. We have the most unique and attractive vehicles on the road today. It's no wonder why other drivers are so jealous. My Mazda Mazda3 is a 2021 premium deep crystal blue mica.

Happy Thanksgiving! I’m so glad you reviewed the sedan. I think the hatchback looks like a jellybean. Lol. Also, you said at the beginning they compete with American brands, too. Which ones? American sedans are dead. 😜 Just teasing. Great review. The Mazda is so sharp looking - I just wish it had rear air conditioning vents, like the Kia Forte.
You should make a segment called bangs for bucks. Use it for all the cars that are cheap in price but not for what you get. Style, feature, and power wise
My 2016 model Mazda 3's Infotainment console went on endless loop. Hard reboot did not work. Mazda dealership diagnosed it as a dead CMU (the brains of the console). Will cost $1300.00 to replace. They don't know when part will arrive. Last time my rear tail light cracked, it took 4 months to get the part. I wonder how long the CMU will take.
I wish the cleaner backup camera, well placed armrest, and hallowed steering wheel made it's way to the Mazda6. I was so sure the Mazda6 was going to be my next choice, but now I don't know.
You’re the best Joe! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. I’m not a fan of the direction Mazda’s gone especially with the infotainment center, cup holder position and interior room. One thing I’d like to see in video’s is you leaving the driver seat in the position you’d drive in and then sit in back seat behind it.
I bought a 2020 Corolla SE sedan 6-MT in late 2019 (& it's fine, overall), but may trade it in for a 2021-2022 Mazda-3 automatic sedan instead in the near future. I've been driving manual since my first vehicle in 1982 & feel that perhaps the time has come to buy my first automatic. I have no interest in any push-belt CVT automatic, however - so Mazda is the best choice.
Like you always say Joe, it is great that we have so many great choices. I'm debating on the turbo 3 or the turbo cx30 for my next purchase. I'm saving up for my birthday present to myself next May.
Definitely the best looking vehicle in it's class, at least in sedan form. The Mazda 3 Turbo is already on the dealer lot in Knoxville, I went and looked at it the other day. Still zonking that torsion beam though.
The car is indeed beautiful and high quality, but there is one thing that bothers it: the new shape of the steering wheel. The coating is of high quality, but the profile is not round (tubular) as before, and therefore is not comfortable in any position of the hand, but in a very specific position. The uncomfortable grip makes driving uneasy. It is a great pity that they abandoned the "universal" form that suits every driver and every position.
Rear view camera is much better if you get the 360 cameras option! In that case you will also have trajectory lines according to steering wheel position.
You gave more info that I needed than the sales associate I had deal with at Mazda. She even lied of things it had, I may be young but I’m not stupid with obvi details. She told me if had bucket seats, automatic seats, peddle shifters.....how do you lie about that~ 5 inches away from the car?!!!!!!
I am a fan of the brand since I remember and I have a question : Can you disable the Stop/start system ? . I hate that thing and for me is a deal breaker .
Luxury and looks aside, Toyota & Honda’s popularity are due to their outstanding reliability and longevity. I like to think Mazda recognizes this, due to them not switching to a CVT or 8 speed transmission.
Peter, I just picked up a 2021 Mazda 3 sedan with premium trim, all taxes, doc fees, title transfer, miscellaneous b.s., for 26,700. That's in South Carolina, where our new car taxes are capped at a ridiculously low rate, so your mileage may vary, so to speak.

I know how you feel! Thanks for letting me share it with you!
Did I miss it or did you skip over the back seat? I guess you didn’t want to talk about how small it is?
I don't know where it went. Sorry about that.
I know how you feel.
Happy Thanks giving.
Same to you!
I don't recall the new Sentra ever being mentioned as a comparison vehicle. Where does it fit in your opinion Joe?
I like the design of the Sentra, but the lack of HP compared to the competition and the CVT transmission makes me look elsewhere!
Best looking interior in it's class.
Nahhh
I agree with you.
Which one then?
@@Dandre181 it is, idk what else than cause it’s definitely not the civic or Corolla and most definitely not anything from the Koreans
Thanks for sharing your ownership experience!
Top 3 brands right there Joe 👍 have a nice weekend guys
Super entertaining review.. I subbed!
Happy thanksgiving Joe!! Hope you and your family had a safe and amazing day
Thank you Andrew! I hope you and your family had a great Thanksgiving.
Actually those cup holders are deep enough you can get large cups in there and out no problem.
Thanks for sharing that input from your experience!
Will they be cramming the inline 6 into this in a couple years?
I wish!
Joe as part of your reviews, consider turning on all the lights to get an idea of what they look like. It would be much appreciated.
Thanks for the feedback.
My friend has been letting me borrow his 2016 mazda 6 with a 6 speed manual
Fun little car
It really is.
Every Mazda just looks right in red. The 3 is on my short list for my next car, and you know what color it will be!
Totally agreed. The only color I like more is the Snowflake White with the black trim of the 3 Turbo. Put the red interior in there too, holy moly.
Like you always say Joe, it is great that we have so many great choices. I'm debating on the turbo 3 or the turbo cx30 for my next purchase. I'm saving up for my birthday present to myself next May.
I really hope Mazdas could make their infotainment system more bigger and add 6 cylinder option in any of their models.
So excited for this to be my first car! 😄
I am so happy to share it with you1
Definitely the best looking vehicle in it's class, at least in sedan form. The Mazda 3 Turbo is already on the dealer lot in Knoxville, I went and looked at it the other day.
Still zonking that torsion beam though.
It's time for a shirt that says "ON THROTTLE"
The car is indeed beautiful and high quality, but there is one thing that bothers it: the new shape of the steering wheel. The coating is of high quality, but the profile is not round (tubular) as before, and therefore is not comfortable in any position of the hand, but in a very specific position. The uncomfortable grip makes driving uneasy. It is a great pity that they abandoned the "universal" form that suits every driver and every position.
Rear view camera is much better if you get the 360 cameras option! In that case you will also have trajectory lines according to steering wheel position.
AGREED!
How's Thanksgiving Joe? MAZDA!!!
It is going great Tom! How is yours?
@@RaitisRides It's going Sweet. ;D
I think the Mazda is the best looking of the Civic and Corolla. You skipped the back seat portion. Thanks for sharing it Joe. Nice job! 👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸
I totally agree with you Larry! It was way to much turkey tonight!
Joe when are you doing the GV80 review? From what i am hearing it could be the car of the year
Well Chris I was excited to get one done finally but then it sold. Fingers crossed hopefully soon.
I can't see an option to build a Mazda 3 with a manual transmission. Looks like it's only on the hatchback with the Premium trim.
11:24 I LOST it, I’m laughing so hard it hurts
Nice review Joe! Guess the back seat moved to the trunk? Guess the back seat was too tight for you to get in...😜😜
I am a fan of the brand since I remember and I have a question : Can you disable the Stop/start system ? . I hate that thing and for me is a deal breaker .
The fact you can get a Mazda with a larger engine than the toyota or Honda is cool. Th fact you can get that larger engine also turbocharged... wow!
I know right!
Luxury and looks aside, Toyota & Honda’s popularity are due to their outstanding reliability and longevity. I like to think Mazda recognizes this, due to them not switching to a CVT or 8 speed transmission.
Please also show the sticker to give the folks out there an idea of what the cost may be
You got it!
All depends on trim you go with when it comes to Mazda3.... if you can live without turbo (you probably can) ... you could save up to 10k.....
@@stevedavis8329 Shoot Steve, I just may have to make a trip to SC for a great deal that you made.!
My next car will be a 2021 Mazda 3 sedan love your videos joe
