Thanks for all of these videos you have posted. I have been interested in trying out backpacking again. I live in East Tennessee (Smokey Mountain area). My son and I went on a trip a couple of years ago and I did not enjoy it at all. I love to camp, but my hikes to my campsite are usually within a hundred feet of my truck at the most. So, I am able to take most of the comforts of home with me (When your backpack is a truck bed, you can take whatever lol). After talking to many friends who backpack it sounded like we did it all wrong. I had no padding to sleep on and my backpack was an easy 50+ lbs. By the time we got to our campsite my back was killing me. To add to the discomfort, there wasn't anything to sit on or lean against near the fire pit. That made my back hurt so much worse. I eventually just went on to the tent and laid down where I tossed an turned all night with no sleep. I couldn't have been more ready for that trip to end. Your videos have encouraged me and I really want to try again. I have been going through your videos and discovering all of these ultralight items you carry. I have ordered many things and waiting for them to come in and for the state/national parks to open back up so I can try again. If you have made it through my story, then I would like to leave this with a question. I haven't seen any rain gear reviews except for a mention about using an umbrella. What would you recommend for someone like myself? I've watched many videos, but it seems like most of them are just trying to sell a product for someone. Thanks in advance!
hey kevin! I'm glad you found my videos encouraging! For me, it's all about the balance of weight and comfort since weight will make the hike more fun and comfort will make camp more fun. I've looked at a lot of rain gear and I stick with a Frogg Toggs Ultralite 2 suit for 99% of conditions. It's inexpensive, waterproof, and works.
Ok, chances are this is so old you're not checking anymore, but you left out one piece of info from your video. BTW, I went and bought the nikwax and today I washed and reproofed my jackets, but now I need to know. Do I need to do a clean of my washing machine before putting the next load of clothes through?
nice video, i have a question my waterproof jacket the inside white material that plays as waterprrof i think, is getting leaked to the outside of jacket and I can see white spots on the whole jacket :'( any help plz
Haha, I had to get one after seeing Matty Outdoors in one. One day, we're going to hug while both wearing the shirts and all in the world will be right!
Thanks for the great videos. Looking at getting a Hammock Gear Top Quilt in the 55" width along with the NeoAir XLite in a regular wide. I am 5' 9" about 175 with a 40" chest and 32" waist. Do you think this is wide enough? Thanks again, Jim.
How do I was a waterproof cycling bibtights? If i use 150ml of this stuff for each washing this equals to about 2.5~3 euros per washing. Meaning 10 euros each week to keep my tights washed and waterproof. No go :(
We're going to change the backpacking world with these shirts!
Quality stuff as always.
One hug at a time!

Thank you for this. It's something I've been meaning to do for ages. Love your T-shirt :-)
Free hugs! From 6ft away... I had some extra time recently and decided why not wash my gear, haha
Good tips Justin
Thanks Justin, you explained it perfectly!
Great content and demonstration of use. Things we need to know.
Thanks B :)

Do you know what happens if I put a synthetic hoodie in? Originally water resistant but thought I’d before testing it.

Sorry, I don't know much about cycling bibs. I was all my running gear just with regular detergent.
I always look forward to and enjoy your videos. Very informative. Thank you!
Thank YOU Allen for watching :)
