Target keeps playing such danceable songs! This is my jam. I am sure Target has many security cam videos of me dancing down their aisles by this point.
Attack and Release -->Keep it Hid --> Brothers -->Turn Blue --->Yours, Dreamily--> Waiting on a Song. Love how Dan's sounds and goals are constantly evolving. I know better than to overreact to this song. Love how fresh each experience is.
zubrusfan1 Thanks for verbalizing my thoughts! Who wants the same schtick year after year?!? I love how Dan is evolving and I like the direction he's headed in. And let's face it, it's not like it's a 180 from The Arcs.
I knew instantly it was Mark playing...There's no mistaking his sound. Years ago he played on a Randy Newman tune..."It's Money that Matters." You can't go wrong with Mark backing you up !
Interesting that on my birthday, first thing in the morning I come to find that one of my favorite musician's of all time released a brand new single. So awesome, loving the tune.
Head this song while waiting on the line for T-Mobile's customer service. The audio quality was pretty bad, yet it was clear to me that it was a banger, and I was able to make out the "shine on me" from the chorus and find it that way. Thanks T-Mobile!
As a long time fan of The Black Keys and Dan's music, I gotta say I like the direction you're going with your sound! I'm excited for the whole album, you do you Dan! :D
Love this video! It takes me back to the halcyon days of MTV when such groundbreaking videos as You Might Think, Take on Me, Money For Nothing and Sledgehammer were played. This is loads of fun and a great companion piece to End of the Line and Queen of Hearts!
God does hate me and I find myself trying to save them. I don't blame God for hating me but I need to find ways that I can save my friend. She deserves better in this life
Love the song, had no idea what it was about until this incredible, masterful, video. My grandchildren and I sing the SOM refrain, then the next line we insert a family member. Daddy, sister, me. It's a great fun, bonding experience.
You know… there’s no such thing as a straight line… if you stray outwards… far enough away, it curves off to the infinity. You can veer off the track at any moment… It’s why we’re near to the very edge… just about functioning. Sifting through the chaos of countless memories, instances, trials, joys and traumas… the long long history and staring into new beginnings, the unknown, the future abyss and all the possible’s, sometimes the impossible… and as we know… it does happen.
Anyone else here because of Pick ‘N Save? I work there and oh my goody goodness this is such a magical song😍🎶🎶Definitely one of my top favorite songs. Anyone else here it at Pick ‘N Save?
Some start off in a great two piece band with a color in their name and go on to do amazing things with other bands and as a solo artist, and then there is Dan Auerbach....
Very interesting stance for Dan to take. I'll have to give it a week before I make any judgments, but I never in my life would have thought I'd see him take this route. Regardless, it makes me pumped to see where he takes this new album!
Brent Kennicott You should check out The Arcs! If you're unfamiliar with them, it's Dan's second band. Shine on Me sounds nothing like The Black Keys but it sounds very much like The Arcs and they're pretty recent too
Francis Gonzales na no way in hell is this close to the arcs.. its the same thing like someone said up there it was similar cage the elephants recent album lol
I'm back one month later. After taking my time and listening to it sporadically throughout the recent month I must say I've adjusted to really enjoying this song! Too many people are dismissing it, but if you spend some time listening to it through with head phones you really hear how well orchestrated this song is!
I heard this at Kohl's today, all I understood from the low volume of the store speakers was "shine on me, working for my uncle sam" and then I crossed my fingers that I would find it on Google once I got home from just those lyrics. YAAAASSS!!!
still listening to this one and its getting better and better...the guitars are amazing.....just imagine john lennon would be still alive and making music today. it would be like this song.
Well it's a cute catchy summer song but I hope there are some heavier blues tracks in the album, I really like Keep It Hid and hoping for a similar record.
Never get tired of this song, such an uplifting tune.
This is the definition of uplifting feel good music
That’s my favorite uplifting feel good music 🎶

zubrusfan1 you forgot El Camino
zubrusfan1 the big come up---> thickfreakness----> chulahoma---> rubber factory---> attack and release---> etc.
I really thought turn blue was a combination of everything the keys and Auerbach had done up to that point, I really liked it
You skipped The Arcs vs The Inventors
My 2 year old LOVES this song and is constantly telling our Google assistant to play it. The kid has good taste in music!
Bright, sunny, upbeat, and most of all, fun. I love it.
LOVE YOUR MUSIC I ENJOY DAN AUERBACH'S SONGS OVER AND OVER AND NEVER TIRE OF HIS COOL VIBE
Great groovy summer song. Short n catchy. Love the subtle little solo.
Dans the Man !
Dans the Man and Stan the Man Wawrinka 😎
I think that guitar is actually Mark Knopfler.
btw similar to Tall Order Baby by Mark :)
I love how much Auerbach and the black keys are creeping into mainstream anything
Fully support this movement ❤
I got my mind settttt onnnnn youuuuu..... setttt onnnn youuuuu
My first thought when I heard this. Just revisiting it now...
So easy to hear Mark Knopfler guitar :) Anyway very light and fun song! Love it
Normally it's easy to hear but honestly I wouldn't have known it if i hadn't read it
I knew instantly it was Mark playing...There's no mistaking his sound. Years ago he played on a Randy Newman tune..."It's Money that Matters." You can't go wrong with Mark backing you up !
cwmiller2006 A living legend so he is. Dan's in good company. John Prine wrote seven of the songs on the new album.
That Randy Newman song is actually fantastic and sadly forgotten by many
Ahhhh and it was produced my Jeff Lynne I think...hmmmm
1
Such an uplifting and happy song.
It's so weird because this song didn't come out too long ago but I swear that I feel like I heard it a few years ago.
Unmistakable guitar from Marky K!! Catchy as fuuuuck.
yeah he plays only a couple of notes but you immidieately hear its him!
I love how Dan and The Black Keys' sound keeps evolving.
Sounds like queen of hearts
I came to love Dan and The Black Keys because of its bluesy roots, but man this is really good.
This proves that the record companies won’t publish great music just a fantastic tune
what do you mean? isn't part of great music the fantastic-ness of its tune?
Knopfler's subtle bluesy undertones are undeniably fantastic!
So Harrison!!! Love it!!!! Auerbach is a hero :)
it feels so 70's or 60's I love it!
Interesting that on my birthday, first thing in the morning I come to find that one of my favorite musician's of all time released a brand new single. So awesome, loving the tune.
Still a banger

Same here found through Tmobile
This makes me smile so much my face is hurting 😊
Thank you Lucifer, this is an absolute banger!!!
cant wait for the album!
Unmistakable sound of the great Mark Knopfler on guitar !
As a long time fan of The Black Keys and Dan's music, I gotta say I like the direction you're going with your sound! I'm excited for the whole album, you do you Dan! :D
Check out “Potter’s Poets”
What a fantastic song, I'm happy to hear Dan Auerbach with such creativity. Seems it also touched MK.
I'm very excited to hear the rest of the album if this song is any indicator. Love the Jeff Lyne and George Harrison influences.
And the Grateful Dead.
Dan the Man!
I heard this song for the 1st time in the supermarket the other day and it stuck in my head in a good way
Love this video! It takes me back to the halcyon days of MTV when such groundbreaking videos as You Might Think, Take on Me, Money For Nothing and Sledgehammer were played. This is loads of fun and a great companion piece to End of the Line and Queen of Hearts!
Mark Knopfler's guitar is amazing!
Love it! Between The Black Keys and The Arcs, its nice to see Dan switch it up a little 👌🏻 Bring on June 2nd!
he needs to wear that outfit to every gig now, it's a must!!!!
God does hate me and I find myself trying to save them. I don't blame God for hating me but I need to find ways that I can save my friend. She deserves better in this life

Anybody else getting a Juice Newton Queen of Hearts feel to the song? Either way I'm loving this new song!
Love the song, had no idea what it was about until this incredible, masterful, video.
My grandchildren and I sing the SOM refrain, then the next line we insert a family member. Daddy, sister, me. It's a great fun, bonding experience.

I like this new style. Is different but cool.
This is the return of ABBA! I love it!
I love that dan's still making good music
This song always makes me happy😊🌞
Yes! Dan is finally back with good songs again!
Very interesting stance for Dan to take. I'll have to give it a week before I make any judgments, but I never in my life would have thought I'd see him take this route.
Regardless, it makes me pumped to see where he takes this new album!
Brent Kennicott the world needs more people like you, man!
Brent Kennicott You should check out The Arcs! If you're unfamiliar with them, it's Dan's second band. Shine on Me sounds nothing like The Black Keys but it sounds very much like The Arcs and they're pretty recent too
yea I still can't believe he went out and did this.. very self absorbed message..idk
Francis Gonzales na no way in hell is this close to the arcs.. its the same thing like someone said up there it was similar cage the elephants recent album lol

Had this stuck in my head today, no clue where I first heard it. But man is it a fun and catchy song
We heard this song at Applebee's. My 2 ½ year old loves it.
Straight outta the early 80s luv it
that's one hell of a trip.
I heard this at Kohl's today, all I understood from the low volume of the store speakers was "shine on me, working for my uncle sam" and then I crossed my fingers that I would find it on Google once I got home from just those lyrics. YAAAASSS!!!
I love this song 💪💙💖❤
I knew knopfler was on this even before being told. Says a lot when a guitar sound is so distinct.
still listening to this one and its getting better and better...the guitars are amazing.....just imagine john lennon would be still alive and making music today. it would be like this song.
That's what you call an absolute banger of a tune!
7 years later and I still agree with myself!
I miss the Black Keys, what is this child song nothing comparable... please come back soon.
OMG I 💘 this!
Not sure about the video, but DEFINITELY the best song of recent months.
