      I get not believing every sa or grape accusation because people do lie, but someone reporting a stalker seems like the lead up to those things, why wouldnt you take that seriously and how many people would randomly accuse another of stalking without it actually being serious? Easier to prove someone is stalking you than to say the other things. Any person who stalks another like that, I want to know myself, I wouldn't want to be around anyone acting like that towards another, I need protection around that person.

  • @maeror1022
    @maeror1022 ปีที่แล้ว +42

    Police need to take stalking a lot more seriously, and not just for women in the public sphere, but for everyone generally. Feeling unsafe in your own home, feeling like you can't go out because someone is out there who wants to find and hurt you, is one of the most psychologically-damaging things a person can experience. That level of trauma leaves permanent scars on people.

When I was in the Army a Sgt was putting his hands on me without my permission and was being extremely abusive toward me. First person I told and thought I could trust looked me in the eyes and said “well you look like a victim. So just don’t be like that” and walked off… like seriously?! I've watched a few psychology videos that explain that stalkers like this want to be a force in the streamers life. Positive or negative does not matter to them. They want that attention and they want to be present in their life whatever way they can, which confuses people. It isn't as simple as "oh he really likes her so why is he doing something so horrible?". Quite simply, this sad sack of sh*t so desperately wanted the streamer to think of him, even if that is bad thoughts.

    • @vihmaussivenitaja
      @vihmaussivenitaja ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Yeah, I don't think they are capable of normal empathy and seeing others as humans. The thought process might be that they understand they don't have a chance of "happily ever after" with the target of their obsession, so they might want to punish, at least make a dent - act out in retaliation against the perceived insult to their ego. Kind of like how a severely abusive person treats their family - on some level they understand they are not loved and their family is just scared of them, there's no real respect - so they double down with the terror. It's a power thing. Also, there might be an element of magical thinking, if not downright delusional thinking. Which comes also with some personality disorders, not only more sever disorders like schizophrenia or type I bipolar with psychosis.

    • @jdog167

      @@vihmaussivenitajaYou're not far off. I majored in psych and I had studied the mentality of serial killers, cult leaders, school shooters, etc. and briefly touched on people who stalk (and eventually murder) people. A part of it can be psychopathic mentally. A lot of it stemmed from behavior disorders like you said. Anti-social personality disorder was very common with people like that. It's very interesting to read how their brains are hardwired much differently compared to the average person.

    • @hevswev8387
      @hevswev8387 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @jdog167 indeed. And it seems another aspect of it can be delusion. They have this made up scenario in their head that this streamer wants them to prove their love. There was a case recently of an OF model who had a stalker who broke into her house. Its debated on what really went down but it seems as though he elieved they were in a relationship and that she wanted him to do that. So in those cases, it seems like some form of psychosis leading to delusions.

    Also, there's that lad that watched an actress, sent a letter, got one of those boilerplate automated responses from one of her team, took it as a love declaration and ended up shooting her on her own doorstep. When a mind is that sick that it can justify actions like this, it doesn't matter what the other party does. Hell, a person can be smiling while on the phone and an unstable mind may take that as flirting specifically towards them. If you don't want to blame him, blame mental illness, but you can't blame her for any of this.

    hey, i know the video is already made, but you shouldn't refer to a stalker as (blank's) stalker. they want attention, they want a relationship with the person they're stalking, and they'll take anything they can get. call them "the stalker" to minimize the relationship factor. and absolutely keep calling them creepy weirdos. it's necessary to break them out of their delusion. this applies to any stalker
