4:24 A reminder: in the original Half-Life back in 1998 the shotgun shells were visible while you were reloading the gun.
Don't talk nonsense, you can see that shell in slow-motion (0.25), dark shell.
Why would there be a dark shotgun shells? Also once the shotgun was pump it ejected the red ones instead of the dark one?

I played the original on the ps3 back in middle school. The remastered doesn't look too different besides maybe running at a smoother framerate and better model interpolation

Don’t forget that Crytek has some financial problems, as far I can tell. Making remake instead of remastered version would cost them a lot more than they can get from the sells. Most of the potential remastered players already played the original game, and it’s hard to get new players to the series, it’s not yet another battleroyal copycat, but unique first person shooter. If you want Crysis 4 - buy this remastered to show your interest in the continuation of the series
Crytec isn't as big as it was anymore, the company shrinked massive, because of the lackluster sales and income from games like Ryse, Warface and even the Crysis franchise itself. The studio works now on small double A stuff like Hunt: Showdown and something "simple" like this remaster for now.
Not forgetting that nobody is using their engine because is ridiculously difficult and when Unreal 5 comes out superior than the Cryengine and is more easy to use for developers...welp
If they fixed bugs and added support for multicore cpus... worth it. Originally Crysis cost around 20-30$ in 2007.

The Gauss Rifle is MOST DEFINITELY my favorite.
The TAC Launcher is GOD DAMN!!!!
They literally didn't even need to touch the graphics, just touch up the animations and sounds. They did neither, I guess.
The "Scar" looks like a G36C
Fun story behind that: Crysis was developed before the SCAR competition was actually finished and FN was declared the winner, so they based it on the H&K XM8,
which was also in the trials.

Because it was based from XM8. As a German company, Crytek think that XM8 would be the SCAR at that time (this game was released 2 years before FN SCAR was choosen) so yeah it ended like that.
Most of game's weapons have German origin, such as the SMG based from MP7, light sniper rifle from PSG-1 and Gauss Rifle model based from bullpup SL8.
with the shotgun and sniper the case ejects before the charging handle is used..

i think that the weapon models themselves are more aged than the animations. Not even the 8K textures would help here. They really should have remade the weapons properly..

Crysis Remastered-the definition of "If it ain't broke, don't fix it".
The SCAR still sounds alright. I think that may even be the sound it makes in WARHEAD, or at least very close to it.
I have the PS3 port that came out on 2011 to allow console players to experience Crysis 1 along with the release of Crysis 2. They had updated a few sfx, environmental lighting conditions, and even gave the SCAR updated iron sights. I am genuinely surprised no changes were made for the supposed "remaster" considering Crysis 1 is virtually identical in its current state.
Though this is a work in progress, we could have benefited greatly from updated models, animations, and maybe even additional abilities and movement improvements to give gamers an option of not what Crysis 1 was at the time, but what it could have been with what has been established from now on. Its still bizarre to think that they did more to develop and improve the original on a console port a decade ago than they are doing today. This remaster has been anticipated for years, but now I ask what value does this game bring over the original?

lol, the smoke trails seen after the nuke explosions are clearly based on the smoke trails seen in videos of nuclear tests. They have nothing to do with the actual explosion and are in fact rockets sent up right before the explosion with the purpose of using the smoke trail to visualize and measure the shock waves generated by the explosion. They were probably included in the game to try and appear more realistic when in fact it accomplishes the complete opposite.
The developers even focused on the community.They have a graphical setting called "Can it run Crysis?"
That intro though, thought my phone lagged back to the thumbnail 😅😂

I own the original but didn’t play much of it couldn’t get into it because of the way it played and looked but then I bought the remastered version and it’s a lot better not as good as the games that come out now but for a game that came out I don’t know when but a long time ago it’s descent now and I’m going to finish it I started with crises 2 and that got me hooked and I like to finish games that have a series so I’m going to play this one because its the only one I haven’t played.

The only good part about Crysis Remastered is that it can run on Windows 10 without issues since the OG Crysis, from what I heard, had problems running in Windows 10 (you can't start the game at all). I didn't have a problem with my copy of the OG Crysis and mines a Windows 10 computer but I know a lot of my friends did.
Well you have to turn compatible mode on or even use windows 7 compatibilty mode..

would've been better if they added the animations from crysis 2 and 3, but nope.
Weapon models look untouched save for perhaps slightly better shaders (edit: they did change the textures, so they get credit there). They DID change the sounds but they overall sound WORSE than the original game. Animations are the same.
They only made it work nicely with modern systems and improved the visuals were it was most convenient. It's still the PS3/X360 version of Crysis beneath the fresh coat of paint.
Huge shame.
Edit: when the mininuke explodes, the trees don't budge. This is ridiculous.
